1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

First doll regrets?

May 14, 2010

    1. I bought my first doll about half a year ago. I knew that I wanted a Pukifee, so for months I looked at pictures of various Pukifee sculpts. But I couldn't decide which one I wanted as I was split between Luna, Pio, and Mio. I would look at different pictures and would decide on one sculpt, but then would look at other pictures and decide on another sculpt. One day, I was on DDE, and saw that a Pukifee Chocolate was in stock. I hadn't really considered her before, but being a little impatient to have my first doll, I started to consider her. After looking at photos of her for a few days, I came to really like her default faceup and bought her. I did start regretting the impulsive buy once I had bought her, thinking that I should have just been patient and gone with one the other sculpts, but once I saw her face in person I had absolutely no regrets.

    2. When I was searching for my first doll, I probably didn't look at enough companies before making my decision. I did look for doll photos from owners rather than focusing on the company photos, however, the particular sculpt I was looking for didn't have any of those that I could find. Thankfully the body type on the Mystic Kids 1/4s are the same, so I just looked at photos and videos of others.

I needed the doll to be strung since I am still new at this and wanted to look at box openings to be sure re-stringing wasn't necessary upon receiving the doll. Even if there weren't any for Illy, I was satisfied after seeing the videos and images available.

I don't regret my first purchase, though I do want more dolls after seeing them. I try to only look at YOSD and SD dolls though, since those are the sizes I want next. My MSDs are nice and I don't plan on getting any others unless I see one that gives me the I-need-it-no-matter-what-it's-perfect feeling. :)

    3. I was/am obsessed with the Scar Shiwoo because I was so inspired to make costumes for a doll with a unique face like hers...impusively bought her before purchasing a body. Now I have only a head :( lol
