It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Floating head or headless body?

May 30, 2014

    1. I always buy the head first then match up the body with it later I have many heads around because I have to think of a good matching body for each of them

    2. I like to get my dolls with their heads attached to their bodies. So unfortunately if I like a head and the body isn't appealing then it's a no go. I've considered buying heads and bodies separately before but I know me - I'm so terrified of damaging a doll - if I need to do any mods to make the head and body fit it would never get done.

    3. Unless the company doesn't make bodies - I would get the floating head only but I would have to love the head to do this. I really really don't like buying separate heads and bodies. Plus for me it's easier to see a head and then conceptualize the body vs. seeing a body and then conceptualizing the head.

    4. I kind of like having floating heads actually xD and I plan to purchase a few more ! sometimes, I just feel like "I want this doll, I want to make-up her, but I prefer that her head shares a body with another head". I just don't need to have it "complete" I suppose...

    5. I think I'd rather have heads than bodies. . I mean, generally I have clothes on the dolls so you don't see much of the body anyway - and I'm of the opinion that the face is what really gives the doll personality.

    6. Much rather have heads than bodies. I mean having random doll bodies laying arounds kinda creepy. :|

    7. That honestly depends on your expenses. The head would be cheaper then the body and I think it would be nicer to stare at a pretty face-up then a body without a head. That's my opinion anyways.

    8. Always the head first~ but body is important for me too, I have my own choice of body and I want a nice body for all of my dolls 0.0

    9. I think I'd go for the head first, since finding a pose-able body in the right size isn't always as much of a challenge as getting a hold of a specific face sculpt. If fantasy parts or something else special is required, I think I might still go with the head! I think it depends on how likely it is that you won't be able to find it again. You can also prop up floating heads on body-shaped things and wrap them in a blanket so it just looks like they're bundled up for winter!

    10. I did that with my Juri head. I bought her head and saved up for a body. Which wasn't so bad, I'm still waiting on my body from Fairyland but I've had time to develop her character more and I get to see her face whenever I need to think about a part of her personality.

    11. I would get a head, there's so many beautiful heads out there.

    12. If I buy dolls in parts, I would definitely buy the head first most likely. Which I have kind of already done since I have two heads in need of a body. (They are OE and Dreaming, so...same doll, different expression)
