Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. 1. odd but i was wondering if anyone did weird stuff with their floating heads? I want to get a spare floating head when i order my next boy but had a mental thought:

leave it in the living room coffee table, ppl come to visit and let them see a head ^^

other one is to pull a head out of my bag and introduce my friends to 'Jez'

i have a headless taeyang in my house so i don't think a floating head would cause much probs ^^ I do have the mental desire to own one tho. (it's easier to work on my first face ups if the 'doll' has no body to be attached to and i would not be so emotional deverstated if it went wrong)

    2. I buy heads under several circumstances: 1) the doll I want has become discontinued, but the head suddenly pops up in the marketplace, 2) I love the head of a doll, but do not care for the body, 3) I cannot afford to get the whole doll at once, so I buy the head and acquire a body later. When the heads arrive, I put them in a drawer until I have a body for them; I just don't think of them as dolls until they are complete.

    3. i think it'd be funny to have just a head XD it could just be like '..sup.' and freak everyone out and stuff.

    4. Real life bills trumps the doll in my opinion.

    5. Ooo, old thread! XD

I actually do have a "floating head" now, for the first time in . . . well . . . ever? Floating heads are not dolls to me and it seems weird to have them, so even though I have my girl's head I keep it stashed away in a drawer. I don't consider her "here", if that makes any sense? To me she won't be here until she is ALL here! lol.

    6. To me, having just a head would be creepy, and I couldn't do much with it because it would be simply... not a whole doll. However, I'm thinking about considering it in the future, because I'm trying to find ways to save money.

    7. My tender Zen is just a head. He's my practice head but he has a "personality" as you put it. I just like to see his mischeivous pervert smile looking back at me in that sultry way, so I dont' mind him not having a body.

He had a body once, but he didn;t make much use of it so it went to another head, and my Bee-a is still perfectly fine sitting next to my notebook, looking at me XD

if anyone else is having the trouble thinking that they "just have a head hanging around" and wouldn't have much "posing" desires even if their doll has a body, maybe you guys can ask baschik (sp?) if he/she still makes those doll busts that you can put a head on <3

    8. do it! do it! it'd be fun 8D
I'd pull a prank like that too, but unfortunately my bee-a head has gotten his faceup wiped off -just as the rainy week started- D:!

If you give him a little nice short hair, and a pair of eyes, he might be able to "come to life" a little more <3

I realise that I tend to leave him aside a bit more often with his faceup off =w=

    9. Its hard for me to have heads with no bodies. I went threw 5 I think, first was a El head I sold him since I wanted money for my Des and knowing I would get a El later.

Then Juri 05 I found out I didnt want another girl, so I gave Juri to my friend ^^
Mf El didn't work out since I found Volks Miko as better character for will, so I sold him to my friend.
      Syo as much as I love his mold, his character couldn't find a home with me and last was Juri 06 I sold him knowing no one could give him a home anytime soon. So no more doll heads for me ^^;

    10. When people post just the head pictures, i get weirded out, like it were a child's head, decapitated and just waiting.... creepy! I think you can get a whole doll in pieces (head and a different body) and that's okay, but to see a poor doll's head alone, is sad.

    11. As I just recently got a floating head, I feel like I can actually comment on this thread now :)

I have a Nanuri head that I love dearly. Her name's Fig, and although she doesn't yet have the correct eyes, wig, or face-up, I can picture her clearly in my mind. I wouldn't dream of selling her.

That said, it does make me sad that she does not yet have a body. She's the type who wants to have fun adventures and get into all sorts of mischief, so not having a body is pretty crippling for her.

If, after I get her a body, I get in a financial bind and need to sell something, I'm pretty sure that I would sell her body, but keep her head. However, if she had come to me as a whole doll, then I would probably feel more like I was dismembering her :o

Still, I'd probably keep the head, and stick it in a closet somewhere until I was able to find a body. Out of sight, out of guilt-ridden conscience :sweat

    12. LOL--Back in the beginning I swore I would never have floating heads (then again I swore I'd never sell a doll either--but that's another thread). Recently, in the last two months I found myself with 3 floating heads! Vamp Chiwoo came with my Elf Chiwoo, Elf Yder I bought because I wanted to do a face up and my Koodoll Blue, is only sold as a head, they don't produce bodies, so in order to get him I had no choice. Vamp Chiwoo I still don't know quite what to do with, but whenever he's on a body he certainly has loads of personality. Elf Yder had no personality until he got a body--and then even though he's still blank with no eyes, I fell head-over heals for him XD Koodoll I'm in love with even as just a blank head, probably because I have such plans for him--in any event, what started out really weird for me (I couldn't possibly imagine buying a doll in pieces) now feels totally normal. Though I'll say I never did plan to have floating heads with no bodies, I knew my goal was eventually to complete them as dolls once I realized I was going to end up with just heads. So I guess, all things in due time and never say never (and all that stuff *lol*) But the floating head thing is no longer weird to me the way it once was :P I'd certainly do it again.

    13. Poor Doyle has been bodyless for a long time now, and when I'm not playing with them, Iris sits on the edge of my sewing machine table holding Doyle's head in her hands. I think it's hilarious, but my family is a bit creeped out by it, lol. My brother is afraid of dolls, so sometimes I'll pose Iris holding Doyle's head so they'll both be staring at him when he walks in... or I'll pose them like that in the living room when he's asleep on the couch, so they're staring at him when he wakes up. Is it mean? Yeah, but it's payback for some of the childhood pranks he played on me. =P

As for getting attached to a doll that's just a head, he already has his own personality and has participated in several photostories. ( http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=136713 ) Iris seems to just accept the fact that he has no body. =P I'm having a lot of fun with him as a head though... it's actually going to be kind of sad when he gets a body, lol.

    14. I have one complete doll right now, and one floating head. :XD: My problem is, I'd love to take Tetchan (head!) to meets and such, but I really hate just tossing him in my purse, and .. frankly, carrying around just the head of a doll along with another full doll would look a little strange.

So here's my question! Anybody have any creative - and safe for the head! - carrying techniques? :)

    15. When Eri-chan came to visit, I put Ruu's head in her breast pocket XD Ruu looked STUPER funny and a tad annoyed but hey its creative.

      TC

    16. Don't Forget his escaped. xDD

I keep Ruu in my camera bag since it's padded and enough room for his noggin. I can take a picture tomorrow if you want me to.

    17. Take some scuplty and squish it into the neck hole, after baking it and making a neck, go wild with scuplty. x]
Tanda was a squid for a while....

    18. AHAHAHA! That squid is AWESOME. :XD: I LOVE that idea!!

    19. I think it would be fun to rip the head off something else and put your floating head on instead. A beanie baby is the first thing that comes to mind... If you want to get fancy about it you could even stitch in some elastic and add an S hook to hold the head on :XD:
I think I'm ganna try that, actually...
Watch out if the head has eyelashes, though. That sort of play might kill them...

    20. You could probably pad some kind of little jewellery box and keep it in there? Either the kind you get when you buy the jewellery, or a little one to keep all different kinds in. It's a kind of lame idea, but it's the only box I can think of about the right size to hold a doll head. Plus some jewellery boxes are cute. ^^ I got a nice fake snakeskin looking one for christmas from my aunt....
