Floating heads - How do you treat it when it's JUST a head?

I have a woosoo vampire head, been keeping it for more than 2 years already. I recently had it painted. I've been meaning to buy him a body but paying for my own house has to come first. So for now he has to share with his my open eyed woosoo boy. :P

 

I have two floating heads. One is a WS mnf sleeping vampire. The other is a tender too head I bought for face-up practice, I do plan on getting bodies for them eventually, just a matter of finding good resin matches.

 

I've got five at home, and one that I'm waiting for.

1. CP BW Nanuri 2006 (Rance Greygale)
2. MsDoll Tely 1st in new Volks white (Dylan Albatross) (But! I ordered a body for him two days ago, so soon he will no longer be floating! Unless Rance steals the body first...)
3. MsDoll No.3 in normal skin (Unnamed, trying to sell him, as he's similar enough to my Tely head that I don't really have desperate need of him.)
4. Damaged/Dyed CP NS Nanuri 2006 (currently missing in action . How exactly does one misplace a head? My studio really is a mess. This head is going to going to be my mod test head, as soon as I find it again...)
5. DreamsCreator SaFi head, ivory skin tone (Mallow. I'm hoping to get her a Serendipity mini 14 yrs. body soon. Hopefully by January.)

Waiting on:

6. Migidoll NS Ryu (Unnamed as of yet, but I'm sure that something will strike me once I lay eyes on him. If he's lucky. It took Rance 8 months to get a real name )

I have sworn that the rest of my floating heads will get bodies before I buy any more heads or full dolls. We'll see how long that resolution lasts. (Actually, I'll be breaking it next week for Souldoll's JinWoo, but limiteds don't count, right? Right!)

 

i have one floating head, im not planning on ever getting him a body because i have more dolls than i can handle O_O

 

I've begun collecting heads without bodies. I've rationalized this with the following reasons:
1) Less expensive than the whole doll.
2) Can sometimes get that very special head for an affordable(!) price.
3) Since it is an incomplete doll, it's way easier for me to experiment with the faceup.
4) Since most bodies aren't particularly special/unique, several heads can use the same body.
5) Saves lots of space!

What do you think of these ideas? Or do you still prefer complete dolls? Who coollects just heads?

 

I've got two floating heads.

Dreamscreator SaFi became a floating head after I sold off the body i got him (bad resin match). Would need a slender, pale, yellowy boy body but I'm not sure he'll get it.
K-Doll Karon is floating because I ordered two heads at once but only one body. They can share sometimes, though. Body match wouldn't be hard but I'm not sure how many big dolls I want around.

Hatehatehate having floating heads. I always told myself that I would only buy full dolls (head + body) to spare myself the grief. So much for that theory. D:

 

'Still have Daisy on her cloffiebod, and Bhalla on his little resin bust...

Currently I've also got Winter (Harang SS mod) on a cloth body as well, since my new Dreaming Shiwoo made off with his bod... and Zhen Lei (Reminisce Soah). She'll get a CP Mature body at some point.

All in all, I prefer complete dolls. Mine don't do a lot of body-swapping and I like having the entire tribe "whole" as much as possible.

My Nanuri (who has been dubbed "Beyondo" by my husband) normaly just comes out for photostories and hangs around in his chair.


I'd like to get him a body, but then I know once I do, I'll want another to get another girl.

 

i have one. a nanuri07 type a. he is pretty enough, but the character he portrays was never gonna get a body of his own since the man isnt around often. when i get my El they'll probably share the body, since the 2 are brothers that do NOT get along. (so there'll be no need to take pics of them together)

 

I try not to have any floating heads . . . unless I had planned for them, they just stay stashed in my dollie drawer until I am in need of funds. ^^; And I like to buy dolls whole or buy the head and body very close together when possible.

I don't have any now, but I am expecting a minimee head or two in the not-too-distant future, which will need bodies. ^_^ And I think I may be getting the DOD event head, which will inevitably wind up unused in the drawer. ^^;

I never expected to have her (I don't like having a floating head~ I tried to avoid it) and I meant to... not even order during the event, and if I did, I had planned to sell the head but as soon as I saw her I knew I'd have to keep her! I fell in love with that face. ;_;

 

For awhile I had 2 floating heads. It didn't bug me at first, but eventually I got tired of them rolling all over and when I sent them out to get faceuped, I knew I had to get them bodies.

 

I have an obitsu head floating around - used to be on the DD1 body I have, but Rukia pretty much stole that from her. lol.

In about a month or so, I'll have a floating Shiwoo head, too - that's my Rhaine!

I have 5 floating heads. 2 do not have bodies to share. One is waiting for a body to come.

Since I usually keep just one out to keep me company, I do not have much problem at all

 

I only have one floating head- my Soom Spinel. He'll be getting my Domuya flexibody once I clean it off and get the faceup done... which'll make my Zen head a floating head. x_x And then i have a Minimee head incoming for which I haven't gotten a body yet. Two floating heads is going to make things odd. xD I feel bad about making a head go bodyless!

 

Well, I haven't got any yet, but I'm going to get a head to have a go at painting it myself. If it turns out well, I'm going to attach it to a keychain.

 

Currently I have a floatng Haruka head at home waiting for a body.

 

My Floater is finally attached to a body all his own! Celebrations all weekend!


..but I'll be bringing home a Minimee head soon. I'll not let him be so long without a body - especially since DIM sells bodies separately.
