1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. 1. I don't like to keep floating heads. At the most I had two floating heads. A DZ Xi, and AR Fair Elly. I sold them both on EBay. I can't get attached to heads and if I am not play with a doll I feel guilty for spending so much on the doll.

    2. I have one at the moment. Number two is on his way though. No one will be sharing bodies; they'll get their own eventually.

    3. I have just purchased my first head, so she will be my first one. Hoping for a body soon <3

    4. I`ve ordered a practice head for face-ups, and decided to call her Alice. Eventually she`ll have a body I can practice blushing on and such. But who knows when I`ll afford one for her when I got 3 boys on my mind first. So she will stay a head for a while... :sweat

    5. I was pondering over this the past couple of days, so I decided to ask here in the boards.

      Sorry if this has been asked before, I did a search and couldn't find anything on this but if there is please link me to that thread ^^;

      Does having a head without a body, a head without faceup, etc bother you? Why?
      Do you purposely intend your dolls to be incomplete? Why? In example stay as floating heads and just share a body with another doll.

    6. I'm still waiting for my first to get here, but I can say already that yeah, it does. My body and head are coming from one place, and I'm already ordering the wig and shoes, and drafting patterns for loose, basic clothing. My friend is getting the doll first, to do a face-up, so hopefully, when Evelyn finally gets here, I can at least get her decent T_T

      I just can't imagine her sitting around naked, especially. I can already tell it's not in her character, and the idea just... I don't know. XD Feels like I'd be making my friend sit around naked for days. Just disrespectful, or something like that.

    7. its killing me!!! ok to be fair i have 3 incomplete dolls, one of the heads and full doll are packed away as they have no current character.

      the body i have tho.... i have a character in mind for and having her sit on my desk headless is killing me >.< true i still have no wig, or clothes for her (sleeping head don't need eyes) but the fact that i have a character for her and i have to wait...torture

    8. I've had a few bodiless heads, but thanks to my friends, they haven't been that way for long, and they were complete shortly after coming home. :)

      I've actually been enjoying my latest floating head so far. I had the opportunity to get a Volks Isao v.1 head recently. :) Never would I have been able to afford the whole doll. So I jumped at the chance for just the head.
      Still no body for him yet, but he's borrowed one from another of the boys a few times, and recently borrowed a girl body! :XD: I'm evil.
      It doesn't bother me too much, but yeah, it would be nice to get him all bodified soon. ;)

      Had a headless body too for a bit, but never got around to the wacked out story I was going to do with him, before he got a head, and then decided he needed to be sold.

      So I guess short answer: Nope, doesn't bother me. Gives me more story fodder.

    9. I've got 3 floating heads~
      3 dolls without a permanent faceup~
      3 dolls without a permanent wig or eyes...or both~

      At this point.....not really ^^; Considering half of my boys are incomplete. BODIES...i do need bodies. I don't mind if they still have a temp faceup, or using a different wig/eyes...but having heads is one thing that kind of bothers me...U.U;;

    10. i die a little each time i look at all the unoa faceplates i have, none of them with faceups. i'm waiting for a paint thinner so i can work on them. arrrrrgh...

    11. My goal is to have all my dolls complete, and I want to achieve that as quickly as possible so I'm always working towards it as best I can. I've really got two answers for the question of 'does it bother you', though, so I'll give them both.

      In the case of my floating heads, it definitely bothers me. I've currently got three floaters, and the only picture I've ever taken of any of them in that state is a quick shot I snapped just today to show their storage arrangements: the fact that one of my boys is bald and is a head in another of my boys' lap is incidental to the photo itself. 99.9% of the time when I can't hold myself back from photographing him, one of my other dolls gives up their body for a while and I take pictures of him as though he were a complete doll and the borrowed body were actually his.

      My second answer actually shows up in that photo, too. My Tan El is an ongoing work-in-progress: when he's done he's going to look amazing, but for now he's faceupless (currently waiting for a very talented - and equally busy - artist to get round to his slot) and missing his entire left arm: you can see the elastic hanging loose from his shirt where it's been removed and sent overseas so another very talented artist can work on it. Unlike with my floating heads, though, I've found myself taking tons of pictures of him just as he is, with no attempt to hide his face or lack-of-limb. With him, somehow, the temporary imperfection doesn't take away from the qualities I see in him that are worth photographing, and so I ignore or even highlight the current incompleteness when it's his turn in front of the camera. It's not something I ever thought I'd do, but I'm happy dealing with him like this while I wait for all the seperate parts of him to come together and finish him up :)

    12. Floating heads bother me. Oddly, I've yet to keep a floating head I've acquired, and I sell them before they get bodies. However this time is different - I have a body here waiting for a head, so hopefully things will be different.

      Blank dolls wou;d bother me and I'd send them off a.s.a.p for a faceup

    13. For me, the point of the hobby is doing things myself, not sending the dolls out for mods and faceups or buying everything they need right away. I also like to have a lot of different dolls. So I've accepted that it will take some time to get everyone "complete" and some may never be "complete". It's Ok with me as long as I do finish one once in a while, but if I start stressing about time limits and how many dolls left to do, it will cease to be fun and start being one more chore I have to do.

    14. It's going to take forever to complete the dolls I have there still so much I need to do like face-ups for a incoming head and an incoming doll and cloths. But meh, it will happen by the end of the summer I hope. I'm buying a head soon and hoping it will have a body of some sort by this summer as well. I don't mind slowly working on dolls, it actually seems better then getting everything done fast.

    15. I've seen a few heads I want to get,

      But I'd feel so bad to have them laying around without a body...

      Unless I knew one was going to be getting here very soon so they'd be complete...

    16. I do have to say having a head body-less bothers me a great deal. I think it's the fact it's just laying around and you can't really get to creative with it that gets me.

    17. I'm gonna have (actually, it may be sitting at the post office right now) a floating head for a while - a Migidoll Ryu, my boy Jade :) He's been a character of mine for years and I'm excited that he's joining the family, as it were. I do feel bad that he'll be arriving as a lonely head but he'll be very loved.

      I'm hoping *crosses fingers* that he'll match a Domuya body I have ordered for him (hopefully it will arrive soon)...I'm nervous about the match but if it's not TOO bad I'll probably put up with it just so he can have a body :D Jade's not a big *models with his shirt off* boy anyway.

      I think my biggest fear is that it will just not match at all and he'll be resigned to being a floating head once again. I think it's not terrible that he's coming as a head, because I know he'll get a body soon...but waiting again would be hard.

    18. I'm mixed about it. I wanted to get a practice head so I can practice my face ups. And I wanted to get the Leekworld Hero mold because I didn't really like the body.

      But.. seeing the price of a body by itself is like... why not just get the full doll? -,-a'' So.. I'm iffy on it.

    19. I don't like to have floating heads..I tend to sell them...right now I have my Shushu twins as floating heads, but I know next week I will be able to order them new bodies from Fairyland so that's ok...but when I buy a head I have to get a body..

    20. I have two floating heads and my current "ultimate quest" is buying bodies before I fall in love with a new doll (or dolls, let's say)...^^;
      They really don't bother me that much because I know that I won't let go of them and they will have their bodies eventually.
      I have all the time, why to hurry? :aangel:
