    1. I've got a floating head on the way. :) The good thing is that I'm putting a body on layaway this week.

    2. Full doll is best for me, but it really depends on your predicament. The first doll I ever had was a head and while it was a little "boring" since I couldn't make him pose or anything I was happy with him ^__^

I think starting with a head is a good way to start since its less expensive and you can always buy a body later =D
Like right now I have a floating head waiting for a body I might get this summer and I dont mind :P

I also have 2 other heads floating around that have no "purpose" other then being heads... I dont really mind about them either, I just keep them hidden away and If I find something to do with them I'll do it :P

But having a body is best in the end or else I just forget I have them xP

    3. I started out with just a Lishe head and made her a cloth body with a wire armature... the head was a bit heavy though and then I got an Obitsu body while I saved to buy her a full CP Delf body... nearly 2 years on and the head is sold but I have a full Lishe, a Full PW Skiya, a full DOT E-an, a full Super Gem Spinel and 3 floating heads. 2 of the floating heads are girls and will be hopefully sharing a body I have on the way and Spinel will sometimes be lending his head to my other male head. I was going to sell those heads, but like you, I feel they have the dolls personality and I love them... can always get another body down the line.

For now, whenever I want to photograph them, they just borrow someone else's body for a while :)

    4. I've currently got an Everpurple Iris head I bought on the MP because I'd wanted the doll and missed out on it. Looking for a Volks body for her now. She's in a box and will be until I can find her a body-I don't want her out and about until she's a full doll. But I'm usually highly motivated to get a body for a doll and hopefully she won't be in box limbo for more than a couple of months.

    5. I think getting a complete doll is a bit more special but I love the sense of accomplishment when I get the body for the head and can finally piece them together!
My floaty heads tend to live in boxes until I get them bodies but I get them out to look at them and put eyes in them to sort out the character.

    6. I dont know, I think I would have trouble treating it as anything other then a doll. Even if it is just a head.

    7. Of course I like having a complete doll more than having a floating head, as there's a lot more I can do with them, but I don't regret my floating heads at all. Their characters are no less for just being floating heads, but that could just be me.

    8. I own two floating heads (one with faceup, personality, and storyline etc...1 that is basically a blank slate in every aspect). The one without faceup/persona/etc I haven't much of an opinion on since I've not planned on trying to attach myself to it anyway because it's my practice head.

My other floating head (Neeka is her name) has a character, personality, storyline, and I am very highly attached to her even without a body. I'm saving for her body currently but I still love her to pieces even just as a floating head. I don't think I could ever sell her even if (for some reason) I never end up getting her a body.

    9. If it is just a random head then I tend to not feel one way or the other. If it becomes or is a character though then I tend to treat/feel about them the same as though they were a whole doll. My favourite doll is just a head right now but I love him just as much as ever, although I think having him out and glaring at me would scare off my family - it makes me happy haha.

    10. I have one floating head at home that I bought in the Marketplace sometime ago. I love the sculpt very much, and don't think I can ever part with him. However, I believe it will be quite some time before the floater becomes the character I have designed and gets a full body. TT TT

      Also, I ended up splurging my savings on Crobidoll's limited boy that I've been eying for a week now... But I definitely haven't forgotten about my lovely floating head even through all this. It's just that he's a bit harder for me to complete as he is my first blank head and I'm reluctant to send him off to a faceup artist in fear that my mom'll make sure he'll never return again. :sweat It's been easier to smuggle dolls into my house that are complete, I found out... <.<;;

    11. Around here, floating heads get wrapped up in bubble wrap and shoved into some deep, dark drawer. I try not to have floating heads, as I really don't like getting the head/body separate unless its a LE from a company with very stable resin colors, such as Volks. Resin colors can change over time, either by batch or due to age, and I figure I may as well just wait and buy the doll whole instead of having to pay shipping twice AND having to worry about the resin match.

      Yet still, I have a couple of floating heads. One is a MNF head I plan to see eventually (I just love the faceup too much!), but the other one, a FL multi-head, I just can't bring myself to sell even thoug I have no intention of ever using it. ^^;

    12. God, sometimes I feel like the serial killer of the doll world - I've got heads all over the place... Bubble-wrapped in boxes, in bags. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! While the body is important to me, it's the head (and more specifcally, the face) that catches my eye first and foremost. I fall in love with faces, so if I'm short on money and a pretty boy pops up for sale I'll buy his head and save the bod for later. On the bright side - I do have some bodies that share heads, so I try to give my floaters a 'turn' every now and then. And I am accruing bodies for my floaters, slowly but surely... ^_^

    13. My floating head is in a drawer. I do not like dolls that do not have body, eyes, and head, and I would not treat them as a doll personality until those things are together. That is when I make their birthdays... when all those things come together for the first time. Unfortunately my favorite company is Migidoll :P Sure, NOW they have bodies, but not when I got mine, and I wouldn't buy it even if it had been.

Someday maybe I will get a complete doll in the mail for once.

    14. I have somewhat of a house rule over here and that is absolutely positively no more than ONE floating head at a time. I once found myself with three heads rolling around and I really couldn't stand it. Generally, my approach to this hobby has been to acquire the doll's head and then save up and buy a body for it. (there have been a couple exceptions of course...) and the quicker this can happen, the better. :sweat When I first started into the hobby, it didn't bother me nearly as much... it's kind of funny to see how I've changed in that arena.

    15. My first doll and my fifth doll were the only two I ever bought whole. The second, third, and fourth are/were Migidoll heads from back when Migi didn't make bodies, and I later got bodies for them that matched terribly and didn't really work all that well. My sixth and seventh heads are also MD heads, but the mod work is not done yet on those and they haven't even got faceups, so a body for those two (they're for the same character) is a long ways off. As for my eighth and most recent head, the head was for sale without a body, but I loved the faceup so much I just had to have it. As soon as one was available on the secondhand market, I snagged a body for him, and I can only hope it matches. I love my floating heads (four right now) but sadly without a single body in the house, there's just no way I can really do much with them, so they stay on shelves waiting for the day when I get my act together and finish them up. They're still my dolls, and they still have names/personalities, they're just "on vacation" for now.

    16. Do you have a floating head? Let's give them some love.
Yup. 3 floaters! Leeke hero, Elfdoll Sooah and DT Estella

What's their story... how did you come to acquire them?
I bought Hero direct from the face-up artist "About a Boy" in Hong Kong, Sooah I bought 2nd hand as a full doll but recently sold her body as that "plumper" elfdoll body was so much bigger than my other girls she couldn't share clothes... and I hated her thick ankles... which was doubly annoying as the Dollstown Estella head also fitted the Elfdoll body!

Sure they aren't 'real'...but do you ever feel bad that they aren't 'complete' anyway?
With the boy, he was for sale recently but I realised he would fit on my new SG Spinel's body and so I am keeping him for an occasional head swap (I'm not even giving him a name for now) but I do want to get bodies for both girls and have an AOD body on the way for Sooah. Estella may share that too for a while until she gets her own (Dollstown 15 yr ideally but possibly another AOD!)

Do you plan to get them their own body one of these days?

Ooops, think I answered that already :)

    17. Do you have a floating head? Let's give them some love.
      -
Sure, she's an Aamu Emi head, who I fondly name Alice.

What's their story... how did you come to acquire them?
      -
Was browsing around the MP; just looking at the dolls on sale, with no intention of 'adopting' any whatsoever, then, I stumbled upon DoA user jean's thread and I went :o... suffice to say, I brought one of her lovely girls home.

Sure they aren't 'real'...but do you ever feel bad that they aren't 'complete' anyway?
      -
Not that much, because I know she will be 'complete' soon enough.

Do you plan to get them their own body one of these days?
      -
Once I get my paycheck this month, that's the first thing I'm gonna buy.

    18. Do you have a floating head? Let's give them some love.
Yep! My Brava Bambi Lullaby Emily.

What's their story... how did you come to acquire them?
She came free with my regular Emily. XD

Sure they aren't 'real'...but do you ever feel bad that they aren't 'complete' anyway?
I do! I originally planned to sell her, but after getting her a faceup she was too perfect and I had to keep her. X3

Do you plan to get them their own body one of these days?

It's my next planned major doll purchase.

    19. Do you have a floating head? Let's give them some love.
Yep~ A BBB Sprite Head named Quinn, he has stolen my Song[Remiel]'s body though... I think I should say that Remiel is the floaty head now o_____O &Also a MNF Breakway head.

+Two are on the way, a notdoll Peru and BBB Espree head.

What's their story... how did you come to acquire them?
All are impulse buy XD I saw them in the MP and just had to have them ;3 &Their prices are unbeatable! They all also have beautiful face-ups[save for the BA had, he came to me blank]

Sure the aren't 'real'...but do you ever feel bad that they aren't 'complete' anyway?
Hmm... abit, cause I want them to have a body o___O ['Cept for my BA head, I have no use for him...]

Do you plan to get them their own body one of these days?
Of course! When I'm loaded first XD

    20. I have another body, trading with a friend. I am doing a layaway for other. An artist had made me a body for a head, considering it is a tiny head. The Littlefee will be the hardest. I will have to split one off to get him a body. That will leave me just 4 more bodies to get, six if I count the Chrom and OE Beyla head.
