    1. My first floating head will be a Soom Syen, and I really don't know how to feel about her. She has a backstory already, but I am wondering how I'm going to feel about her when she gets home and lives for a while AS a head. It's a neat to see how other people feel about their heads.

    2. Do you have a floating head?
I have 2 Minimee Zack Fair heads.

What's their story... how did you come to acquire them?
Bought them both from the marketplace, one has normal wide eyes and the other is tender-eyed (and coincidentally produced in the same year, if not the season). They embody (haha!) the same character but with different expressions. Not quite Jekyll-and-Hyde...

Sure the aren't 'real'...but do you ever feel bad that they aren't 'complete' anyway?
No, because there's always the intention of completing them someday.

Do you plan to get them their own body one of these days?
I did at one point have a body for them (WS 70cm Buddydoll) but when I got my NS Buddydoll doll I found that that is a lot closer in shade to my MnM head, so I'd rather get a NS body than keep the WS since I don't have the resources or skills for body blushing.

    3. I have 3 floating heads now ^^' They multiply like rabbits!

Two CP event heads with mods done by OneGreyElephant (CP NaNuRi 06 and Juri 07 *drools*) and a CP Dreaming Vampire Lu-Wen head.

Planning on getting them bodies after I get the other 5 guys I've been wanting lol

    4. Do you have a floating head?

Yup; a Mnf shiwoo scar, Lynxx

What's their story... how did you come to acquire them?

A friend won this head with a lottery on a fair and decided to sell it since she wanted to save up for a doll she wanted for a long time already. I fell in love with the head as soon as I saw it so decided to buy it. The price was very reasonable ;)

Sure the aren't 'real'...but do you ever feel bad that they aren't 'complete' anyway?

Well yeh, I've been feeling bad that I haven't bought her a girl body for the time that I had her (almost a year). I had saved up enough money and then I bought another doll ... I feel a bit guilty for it towards her, but don't regret buying the doll ^^
But yeh, it's a bit sad to see a head lying around there ...

Do you plan to get them their own body one of these days?

Deffo! I'm saving up for a while again and only need a bit more. When I have enough it'll be ordered soon :)
My sister even helped me save up a bit for my birthday ^^ She gave me some money for my dolly funds ^^ Think I gotta love her a lot! (Bf is still trying to find something else to buy me since he doesn't want to help me saving up >.<)
Can't wait to order though ;)

    5. For those of you who HAD a floating head...let's hear some "completion" stories!
Did you find it difficult to snag them a body? (since many companies don't offer them separately).

Damn, yes! I thought I'd never find a body for my one and only floater and then BAM - there it was!
Said head is an old AoD Mo I bought for cheap because he just looked so sad and lost. The previous owners had all used him for practicing face-up and modding skills and darn he really looked like it. So I restored him and gave him a pretty face-up and had him sitting on a shelf where I'd always see him. I wanted to give him a body but since I didn't even knew what skin colour he was (Old NS? New NS? P? Y?) he was doomed to remain a floater until my NS-P B&G Eleanor arrived. Actually I was just fooling around but when I put him on her body it was a 100% match! God, I was so happy to have a body for him to share after such a long time!

He makes a cute girl, he doesn't like it, though. So I'll eventually have to get another B&G body only for him. :)

    6. I've got one. Maurice is the recent KDF summer event head that came with my boy.

I do plan on getting him his own body eventually-- he's a bit pissy about being a severed head, but his body probably won't be my next purchase. I think he wants me to buy him a boyfriend more than he wants me to buy him his own body... (besides, he can share with Vince until I buy him his own...)

Even though he's not complete (I still have to get his proper eyes and wig as well!), his personality has come through, and I love him just as much as I would if he was complete.

      =^__^=

    7. I tried the floating head thing once. I ended up selling it because I felt bad for not being able to/planning to get it a body within the next year....or two. XD;

    8. When I have a floating head I just kind of put it away until I get a body for it.

    9. I'm thinking of just selling my floating heads and getting it over with. They bother me sitting aroung in their boxes like lumps. However, floating heads do make good canvases for faceup practice.

    10. Unfortunately not as well as my complete dolls, she's currently in storage with my "practice" heads. I got a bust to put her on, but I've been too lazy to put her back together. I still like her very much tho, just not enough to put her with the rest. ^^"

    11. I usually avoid buying just a head -- the exceptions are a) when the company doesn't produce their own bodies, and b) when the sculpt is limited, I don't have the money to buy the full doll and I want to make sure I don't miss out on the sculpt.

As long as the doll is just a floating head, I don't feel that it's really there. To me, it really only comes to life when the body arrives and I can take pictures. I've tried to have several heads share one body, but to me, that just doesn't work -- every head needs their own body.

That said, I'm waiting for the postman right now, as he should bring me bodies for two of my floating heads! ;)

    12. Of course I prefer my doll to be complete. The head and it's body makes my doll. But if I were to be in the same situation as you, I would keep the head and sell the body. It hurts to part with part of your doll for sure, but you can always get another body but it's harder to bond with a new head.

    13. Do you have a floating head? Let's give them some love.
I actually have five. >__<" (Migidoll Cynical Yujin and Noel, Napidoll Vampire Ricardo and Chesi, Soom MD Chrom) I had intended to get them bodies one at a time and soon after they arrived, but then a whole bunch of limited editions and amazing deals for sold out limiteds on the marketplace happened and they got delayed a bit.
What's their story... how did you come to acquire them?
Well, the two Migidoll heads were my first two and I had intended to wait a month to get their bodies and use the time to search around for other dolls. Then, while searching, I found. >_< I got the two Napidoll heads and the Migi boys' bodies got pushed back... Then I discovered Soom and all hell broke loose. x.x I
Sure the aren't 'real'...but do you ever feel bad that they aren't 'complete' anyway?
A little. I take comfort in the knowledge that as soon as I get all of my layaways paid off and my roommate and I move into a bigger apartment I'll have the money and the space to buy and keep them. ^^
Do you plan to get them their own body one of these days?
Definitely. I had planned to get them bodies when the other ones I ordered are all payed off and at home, but because of limited space I think I'm going to wait until I move to start getting them bodies. I don't like keeping my dolls (full and floating heads) in their boxes all the time. I'd like to wait until I have enough space for them to sit outside their boxes in a safe place where I won't be in constant fear of them being chewed up by the puppy.

    14. I have 2 floating heads. One is a MNF Woosoo that I rescued off the MP about a month ago. I'm talking to a seller at the moment and am just about to buy her body so she no longer has to be a floating head! BUT. The body I'm buying comes with a head. So yeah. Floating head fail LOL.

    15. Do you have a floating head? Let's give them some love.
*raises hand* yeeesss! Her name is Pandemic and she's the first BJD related item I ever saw in person and had.
What's their story... how did you come to acquire them?
Oh my... Well, I imagine it's a shameful one... I had some nice tight knit plans; My first doll was gonna be a Luts KDF Bory, I was gonna get him all in one piece, and with a wig and eyes and faceup already... About halfway through saving, I saw my favorite mod artist selling a modded head on deviantART... Within the next 30 minutes I had sent her the money, and she would be sending me my head by the end of the day! Ahaha, whoops. But, it was a good choice and I love her very much! It's just... I didn't expect my first dolly purchase to be a mere head with nothing to its name but some nice mods and a single pair of eyes...
Sure the aren't 'real'...but do you ever feel bad that they aren't 'complete' anyway?
Not... Not too much. I will jokingly refer to her as "the pathetic head" or "poor thing" but I don't truly deeply feel bad for her.
Do you plan to get them their own body one of these days?
Oh yes, most certainly. As you can see from my sig I already have her body ordered... Now for the Korean thanksgiving holiday to end -___- She actually isn't my first doll... While she was still bodyless, I bought another full doll from Luts during the summer event so I could get the free head... She's much more true to my original plans, and I consider her technically my "first doll"

    16. I've got a floating Puki Ani faceplate named Kyoko. I found her in the marketplace and thought it would be fun having something to paint and repaint as the mood struck.

I do feel kinda bad that she's having to share a body; it just seems kinda sad to have two Pukis who can't play with each other. But I'm not sure if she'll ever have a body of her own. There's not too much difference between the price of a Puki body and the price of a whole Puki, and her aesthetic doesn't match my other dolls. So I'd love to get another Puki, but it will probably have a face and character of its own, and Kyoko will just have to keep sharing.

    17. I've only ever had a floating head for about 2 days since I bought a head and a body from two different sellers at the same time and the head came first. I hate the idea of having a floating head and the only way I'd buy one is if I had the opportunity to buy a rare awesome head like Williams that was being sold alone. I'd be saving up for a body asap though.

    18. Do you have a floating head? Let's give them some love.
I have four currently, but two of them are going to be sold. The two I intend to keep are my CP Dreaming Luwen and my MNF Breakaway.
What's their story... how did you come to acquire them?
I got the dreaming Luwen when I ordered my Luwen from Luts last December. I had originally planned to put him on an Fdoll body, but it didn't turn out to be a match. After about five months of dealing with the bad match I finally just took the head off the body and declared it floating. My MNF Breakaway I got in August. I was planning on getting a MNF Rheia sometime this fall, but when I saw a friend's Breakaway I decided that I wanted that instead. I bought the head and she's been floating around for over a month now XD.
Sure the aren't 'real'...but do you ever feel bad that they aren't 'complete' anyway?
I don't feel bad in the sense that I think they're upset or anything, but it absolutely drives me crazy to have floating heads. I feel like they're unfinished projects nagging at me from the back of my closet, and I find it impossible to look at them without feeling the overwhelming sense of just how much I have to spend to get them completed. It's because of this that I've decided to sell two of my heads that I didn't plan to doll for a while.
Do you plan to get them their own body one of these days?
Yes! I have already ordered my Breakaway a body from FL, and I'm waiting to get a body I've bought for the Luwen. It's a great feeling to know that by the end of this year I will have NO floating heads around.

    19. I started with a head (Juri 07 B) in january 2009 that got his body (FDoll) in august 2009, that same body got sold a month ago and finally he is getting a new one (Delf) soon!! =D
I am really happy for this and I cannot wait to see him on this new body as the other just did not work for the character xP

The second SD I got was a Crobidoll Thor Head and she got her body in about the same time-span teh nthe first... she now has a DollnDoll body and she is so pretty! *boobs ftw*

Third head is a MSDoll Drayton² and he did not wait long as I took the juri's body for him for some time, a few weeks later *a month or 2 ago* his own FDoll body came and now I am already selling it has I found another one (Little Monica) and have it on layaway ^____^

Finally, my last head was a Crobidoll Lance that took maybe a week to get his body (SD10) as I started looking for it before I even got the head xD

The only other heads I have/had are the Sleeping MNF Shiwoo head I sold a few days ago and a Soom MD Ai OE Head I'm trying to sell :P

I just love floating heads.... So easy to get xP
      I want a Lusis FP now.... D=

    20. Do you have a floating head? Let's give them some love.
I have 2 both AoD heads one a Zhen and the other Rao(I think)
What's their story... how did you come to acquire them?
I found them on ebay at really good prices
Sure the aren't 'real'...but do you ever feel bad that they aren't 'complete' anyway?
A little because they kinda look sad without having their bodies
Do you plan to get them their own body one of these days?
Yes. I will be ordering a girls body in a few weeks and I need to figure out what color Zhen is before I get his body, I don't know if he's white or yellow.
