1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

For Tinies Fans: Jun Planning Enters the BJD Market

Sep 30, 2006

    1. I saw this mentioned in a post on OurSilentFriends.

Jun Planning (makers of Pullip) is producing two 5" ball joint dolls. The price (about USD135) suggests they are resin, but it doesn't seem as though folks are certain on this yet. However, they otherwise appear to be the real thing by DoA standards.

You can read more information here (and order outside of an auction environment for December delivery - as I understand it): www.robochris.com.

Here's how you navigate to the product pages (quoted from the OSF post):

"Clik on the Pullip area on the left, then down where it reads in
Japanese, Dolls Information, clik on the first item dated 9/29 and
when it comes up, scroll down to the bottom, clik "next" for the next
page and you will see the two little dolls pictured where it says
      Snowflake and Freesia."

Hobby Link Japan lists them on their site (search for "Ball Jointed Doll Ai") at a pre-order price of about USD121. Pre-order ends 6 October 2006. No pictures available on the site yet, though.

That's the best I can come up with, given my limited skills and knowledge, so for more, visit the Discussion Thread: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90139

    2. I saw these dolls on display last month at the Jun Planning booth at the Doll & Teddy Bear Expo in Washington, DC. They are about the size of my Orient Doll Ji (who is three inches tall) and they were kept under a display case. (While they had Pullips and Hestia dolls on sale at that booth, the ball-jointed Ai dolls were for display only.) Here are the two photos that I took that I hope will provide an idea as to what they look like and how big they really are (feel free to click on the photos to see a larger version of them):

They are definitely cute with their eyes and their frilly outfits.
