Freakstyle Mini Girls- Salome and Eve

Jul 9, 2014

    1. @Poulette oh I'd love to see you getting a Salomé, I adore what you do with your dolls! <3

@aernath Hilariously she is actually supposed to look older so xD Which is why I called fuck it and faked her a bit today:

    2. I've pretty much been out of the hobby for at least a year, so good to be back.
Your girl looks absolutely gorgeous, Rotervolkenvogel. I am absolutely in love with her dress and hair combo, and the face-up is amazing! May I ask who did the face-up?

    3. He face-up was done by Pearls of Danube, commissioned by her first owner farin! Loved it since she was first posted in this thread so I had to snatch her up when she got offered to me :D

    4. Ahh, nice! I didn't realise it was farin's doll now actually ^^; But yeah, she is absolutely stunning, so I can see why you had to have her.

    5. I finally got a new picture of my girls today. I've been working on some braids for others, but I can only braid so much without my hands getting too tired, so I decided to make Yona a new wig yesterday. I've never been 100% satisfied with the wigs I've tried on her, so I made one from some curly alpaca I had laying around. I usually avoid blonde curls as it tends to look to much like my hair and I don't want that, but I found the fibre really suited her so I'll let it go this time. I think she'll be keeping this one.
Nivah also joined the picture because she wanted to.

    6. Your girls are just so perfect :D It really makes me want to try and get my hands on an Eve too!

My girl's head is currently en route to Canada to get a custom wig made so I am happy for all spam as long as I can't play with mine XD

    7. Both girls look wonderful! Like the cover of a magazine there!

    8. My dolly friend has one and I'll always think of her as Mercy.:)

    9. Aaaah, thank you so much :D Eves are absolutely beautiful; you definitely should try to get your hands on one if you have the budget for it. I think Salome will always be my favourite of the sculpts, but I think that's more bias since she was the first to be made, I followed her progress from beginning stages on tumblr, and was desperate for the indiegogo to be funded, more than anything else.

Ahaha, I can see that. Custom wigs are worth waiting for though, so she'll be amazing when she gets back. Which kind of wig are you getting for her?

Awww, thank you so much :)

I don't quite understand... she has a Freakstyle girl named Mercy so you'll always think of the sculpt as Mercy you mean?

    10. She is getting one of Maryam DN's fabulous elvish wigs <3 She isn't an elf but more of a half-giant story-wise but the overall style was just exactly how I envisioned her hair

    11. Oooh, I just googled Maryam's wigs and those are amazing! It's going to look so perfect on her. I look forward to seeing it.
I can understand your girl story-wise being a half-giants; as a mini collector (35-52cm approximately), the Freakstyle girls tower over all of the other girls in my collection. Story wise both Nivah and Yona are almost 190cm tall (which makes sense for Nivah since she's trans and there's not really any way for people to shrink while transitioning, but Yona's just huge)...

I was stuck at the Student's Society this weekend with nothing to do (yet I had to be there as the other committee chiefs might need me), so I fetched some silk, pearls and patterns from my locker and started on a dress for Nivah. It's far from finished yet, but it's a start.

    12. Oh another mainly Mini collector! / high fives
I really like how much the Freakstyle girls tower over the rest, just fitting that in story-wise can be tricky.

And I think I might love Nivah even more now with that added information <3 Her dress is already starting to look amazing, I love the bright green of it!

    13. Ahaha, yeah. I have a lot of 50cm ish boys too (ID51s, Unoa Brothers, Batchix 51cm boy), but they all have 5-6" or 6-7" heads so they look like minis anyway. So the Freakstyle girls aren't the absolutely tallest in the collection, they come pretty close (and they're almost as tall as those 50cm boys) and they certainly tower over the girls. I have a pretty broad spectrum though, so it doesn't look weird when they all stand together.

Aww, that's good then <3 Ahh, thank you! I love the bright green of her dress too; I have so much of that fabric (it was a furisode karinui so I have so many metres) that I'll be making something for myself too from it. I'm just not quite sure what yet.

    14. For being one of my favourite dolls, she certainly doesn't get enough clothes made. I made a new top for Nivah this week. I was planning on making some cream trousers to go with too, but I haven't had time, and found out that those jeans I made a while ago suits the top nicely. They're a bit boyish for Nivah's style, but they work well with a very feminine top like this. Originally I intended them for Yona, but as she ends up looking more and more mori girl-like, they either have to work for Nivah or get chucked away.

    15. I keep spamming this thread, ahah ^^; We've finally had nice weather this weekend, so I took Nivah outside to the woods to get some photos. I didn't get as many good ones as I'd hoped, but I think this one might be the best portrait I've done of her ever. It kinda looks like she's in a desert. I might want to recreate it sometime but in traditional garb; when I get around to making it that is ^^;

    16. I love that top! It's gorgeous and a great color for her!

    17. Ah, she is so gorgeous! I should be able to spam my girl again December as her wig is supposed to be finished then :D

    18. Ahh, thank you so much both <3

I look forward to seeing yours again Roter. She is going to look so epic in that wig :D

    19. I sometimes have these sleepless nights where I just sit up and craft. Last night was one of those (today seems to be one too, but I haven't slept for over 48 hours and I have a 6-hour long chem lab tomorrow so I need to try to sleep tonight at least), so Yona got a new nightgown/slip/light dress. She hasn't had anything proper to wear for a long time so it was good to get her something made.

Fun fact: Yona really loves snowy winter mornings (and cocoa)

    20. She's beautiful. And the nightgown/dress seems so well done - as do all the clothes you do.

And I envy you for being able to sew at sleepless nights (I have those, too). I'd use them doll crafts myself, but the apartment building I live has soundproof like paper, so I'd wake all the neighborhood up.
