1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Fur or Fiber Wigs?

Feb 1, 2015

    1. I haven't owned wigs other than the one I have for my doll, but based on pictures I've seen I think I'd say I prefer fiber wigs. :)

    2. I like both fur and fiber although fur -especially natural fur like mohair and alpaca!- tends to be more flexible and proportionate to the doll! :)

    3. For short hair I prefer fur wigs, since they keep style a little better. Longer hair I prefer fiber, but it has to be really nice fiber.

I also have a yarn wig I made for my DollsTown Mari and brushed yarn results in pretty sweet dreadlocks. All of them are behaving so far...

I have yet to experiment with alpaca or mohair, though

    4. I like fiber. Don't know, but fur hats don't look very good.Although,it is a matter of personal taste.

    5. I have one yarn wig, three fiber wigs, and more fur wigs than I've bothered to count. I highly prefer the fur wigs because they are soft, easy to style, easy to find, and because they give my dolls the look I want. I've got several fake fur wigs and two that are made out of natural fibers. The natural wigs are good for curls and waves, and the fake fur wigs have a lot of body if needed.

The fiber wigs are okay, but they're bad about kinking up and getting messy. That won't stop me from owning more fiber wigs in the future, but I definitely prefer fur. As for yarn, it's good for dreads, but that's about it.

    6. I tend to like fiber the most, but now have one fur one and have to admit it is pretty darn fun.

    7. I actually like all the types. It will definitely depend on the look that I am going for.
Although, no fur wig for my girl doll xD.

    8. I prefer fur for boys and heat resistant fibers for girls

    9. I use both. They're both great because it doesn't limit me to just one type of wig. My current doll wears both a fiber wig and a fur wig on and off.

    10. I like both but I'm allergic to the fur, so mine will all have fiber.

    11. I also like both. While I've only had synthetic fiber wigs, I'm interested in trying alpaca and longer mohair styles. But the regular fur wigs style so nicely and they're usually very manageable. Although, I gotta say, if you don't buy the right size, making sure they hold on (I use rubber bands or velcro) is tough when brushing.

    12. I have this two types of wigs and I like both.
