1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. i originally started collecting a wide variety because i used them as fit models, but found i don't end up designing for dolls i don't particularly like, so now i'm only getting ones i really like and will soon start purging the ones that don't appeal to me as much anymore. space is also an issue so it needs to be filled with ones i truly love.

    2. I would choose to get the ones that I like the most rather than just growing my doll family bigger but the pricing is not really much the concern because I think so long I love the doll, it's worth my time and money to save up to get the doll n___n

    3. The ones I like most. I'm planning on getting the dolls I've wanted for a while now,, and then just putting money aside in case a new one comes along that I like. Though if I was to find one for a really low price, I'd probably buy if I had the money on me.

    4. It is possible to have a large doll family and have dolls you love -- it's not mutually exclusive. I don't buy dolls just to increase their numbers, yet their numbers have a way of increasing anyway

    5. I would only buy the dolls I love, otherwise what's the point in splashing out for a doll you aren't 100% on? People tell me they aren't worth the money you spend on them but if I have something that brings me so much joy, then I will spend whatever I want on them :)

    6. I prefer to get the dolls I like the most without putting the family size as priority. I don't really value 'having lots of dolls' as a end unto itself, so I don't see any reason to focus on collecting dolls as quickly as possible. I do have a decently-sized collection, but that's mostly come about from companies releasing lots of dolls I adore and had to buy! I definitely agree with what other people have already posted: it's perfectly possible to have a large collection consisting of nothing but dolls you absolutely love. You don't have to sacrifice quality for quantity :aheartbea

    7. When I first started collecting I was in the mindset that a bigger doll family was the way to go. At the time it was more important for me to have any doll that I thought was "cool" instead of a coveted few that I saved up for. Fast forward about 5 years (including a almost 2 year break from collecting). I am now more interested in obtaining only the few that remain on my "grail" list. Yes. It was nice at the time to have a large family however most of them sat collecting dust or in boxes and became dispensable to me. I would rather have a few dolls that I treasure rather than having a lot of dolls that I don't really play with.

    8. I always choose the ones I like most TTuTT of course that doesn't help control the size of my family very much...I don't mind having less dolls if I can have the ones I like, but as I like a lot of dolls the ones at home keep multiplying. I hold off buying any more if I'm saving up for a bigger doll purchase however, unless some surprise limited comes along...

    9. I only buy the sculpts I like.

It just turned out that there were rather a lot of those.

    10. The dolls i love the most are most important to me.
I have bought and sold many dolls just trying to find the perfect ones for me..theres still many dolls i want to buy and see if they suit me but in time..always in time

    11. Actually, I'm more concerned about what's the smallest my collection could be while still having all the dolls I like the most  When it comes to money, I'm rather wishy-washy; I'm a very frugal person in general, so in terms of luxuries such as dolls, I would rather go about my own gradual pace (which is why I absolutely love it when a doll company offers a reasonable layaway. If not, then I make sure I have all the money first and then put it on layaway just in case other circumstances come up.) Also, considering the fact that my tastes tend to change (I went from wanting a big and tall SSDF Cane to buying a slim MNF as my first doll) I would much rather want a doll that I would like no matter what. I don't have a job, and as such, I don't really have disposable income of any sort in order to really get into what I really want to do when it comes to BJDs, so I have to settle and negotiate until I find an outcome that I'm absolutely in love with.

In a TL;DR version, I want the dolls I like the most.

    12. Getting the dolls I like the most because there are so many characters from my novels that need to be shelled.

My tastes are very specific so sculpts must meet strict criteria before the dolls come home.

    13. I'd rather get the dolls I like most. A big family is difficult because of space limitations actually, so each doll has to count. :)

    14. I only buy sculpts that I really fall in love with. There are many, many sculpts that I enjoy looking at, but I don't feel the need to own all of them :)

    15. Even if I didn't have to worry about the money I would rather just buy the dolls I really like.
It would be nice to have a big family but it wouldn't be as satisfying if I didn't really like the sculpt.

    16. I'd prefer to get dolls that fit the characters I want to shell. Sometimes I'll find a sculpt or company that I think is lovely, but the sculpts won't come home unless I can find a place to fit them in with the existing "families" of dolls I have (or if they start a distinct new one). I still try to not spend too much on them (which isn't too hard to do when sticking largely to Minis and smaller), but even with infinite money, all I'd do is bring home the ones I've already selected a bit faster, rather than going out to buy everything! It's most important to me that the dolls I have fit, and ultimate collection size is fairly irrelevant to me. It will be what it will be in the end.

    17. ^^^ TTvTT *sobs bitterly*

    18. I personally, don't feel a need to have a lot of dolls. Yes, there are 4 I want, but unless one really catches me, and I really love it and need it, I'm not going to bother pursuing a purchase.

    19. I don't need every doll I like. I love looking at pics of many dolls but I don't need to own them all. I prefer certain sizes but like to look at pics of other sizes. I prefer to focus on some dolls rather than have every doll I can buy. I love Littlefees but I don't like every sculpt so there's no need for me to have every littlefee that is made. I love to look at pics of Minifees but the size is a bit too big for me.I have a couple MSD sized dolls but barely touch them. The longer I collect the more selective I become. I also collect Pez dispensers and have over 500. I grab one every time I see one I don't already have. They 're only a few dollars at most so it's kind of a cheap obsession. I do nothing with them they're in boxes and bags in a closet but I still collect them. It's really nonsense but I won't break the bank collecting them. Dolls on the other hand wow can a person spend some serious money so I'm much more thoughtful about my purchases with them.

    20. I only go for the dolls I like the most because they aren't cheap that I can buy them randomly, need much place to keep and I just don't have any interest with dolls or things which I'm not interested... That will be cruel to them that can't receive my attention and love. So don't buy themfrom the start is a better way :)
