1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

  1. To have a bigger family and collect as much as you can from dolls?

  2. To get the dolls you like the most without putting the family size as priority?

    1. I would rather buy only the dolls I have character for, then just collecting One Thousand And One doll that I ones liked and got spontaneously. These dolls are more than a toy that you would have a million of. Even if I were wealthy and could afford any doll, I would have gone only for ones I really adore.

    2. I only buy the dolls I really like and have characters for. I don't want a big collection, though. That would be too overwhelming.

    3. Actually...the doll needs to personify a specific character so sometimes, I can't even get a doll I really like because it just doesn't look anywhere close to that character. Often, I do get a doll that I like the look of and force my characters into them, some work better than the others.

    4. I buy the dolls I love. I do not wish to have a big dolly family. I just need to look at my sewing list to feel faint  so, adding dolls in which I have no great interest, is not an option.

    5. I've chosen all my dolls because I particularly like them. I have over the last year bought the ones on my wishlist based on them being available, or discontinued. A few limiteds have joined the "tribe" as well. The group has grown faster than planned because of previously mentioned factors. However, my very strict rules about them being small sized has helped keep them more affordable.

    6. I think it's important to maintain balance.

It would be silly to buy a doll you don't love.

That said, I also don't think it's realistic to talk about collecting as if money were no object. We all have financial limits; they're just different for different people. It's okay to say a doll is out of the price range you're comfortable spending. It's okay to choose a doll you will be happy playing with right now, instead of obligating yourself to scrimp and save for years for the expensive one at the absolute top of your wish list. Not every doll you buy has to be your grail doll. And if having a family of dolls is a priority for you and you economize a bit on the individual dolls to make that happen, there's nothing wrong with that either.

As long as your collection is making you happy instead of stressing you out, there's no right or wrong.

    7. I want my BJD family to grow to include only dolls that I like and wanna have because they are awesome not just to have big BJD number

    8. I don't think anyone's in this for sheer quantity. We see dolls, and we adore them, and the dolly family just gets bigger when we turn our backs!
