1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Getting dolls before they sell out

Sep 7, 2013

    1. My method for not missing out on limited dolls is to stick with just one company. It means that instead of keeping track of the endless doll releases going on all the time, I just check my one company's website once a week and can be pretty much guaranteed I know what's available or coming out soon :)

    2. I'm in the same boat as you so thanks for posting this thread! Many thanks for the advice people posted here!

    3. I can never keep up with anything, so I usually fail spectacularly at this and almost always have to hunt them down second-hand...

    4. I think, over time, you will realize what companies you prefer over the others. You will also discover which of these companies come out with limited dolls. I check several doll companies once or twice a month to get up-to-date on what they are selling. Even if the company doesn't sell limiteds, they may choose to discontinue a sculpt that you like, so that's another reason to check company websites if you like their sculpts. Like other members suggested, check the news feed as well, as most of the company news information should be posted there.

    5. This is exactly what happened to me... I didn't think then that i have to buy him now, i thought he can wait. But the company died this year. Now i ended up on marketplace with a WTB thread. Don't be like me. It's not good to miss out dolls that just have to be yours after all.

    6. I kept putting off buying Stramonium but as soon as I saw that Dollzone was discontinuing their SD's I jumped on it. Had to create a second online bank account so I could put money towards the layaway and everything.
