1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Getting Limited Sculpts After Being Sold Out?

Feb 25, 2016

    1. Hello, I am not quite sure where to put this. I would have asked on Newbieland but I can no longer post there. So recently I have finally got marketplace access here. I noticed some limited Soom sculpts for sale but many of the dates they were made were after the time they sold out. So my question is, how do people get companies like Soom to cast a limited time, doll for them years or months after the doll was sold out? *note: These dolls do not appear to be from the free choice events either

    2. I'm assuming the "months later" thing is because they're listing the date when the seller sent the doll, which is what seller's usually put as the official date on the CoA. Since Soom usually takes about 4-6+ months to cast and send out their dolls, I wouldn't be surprised if the doll says it was made in July when the event for the doll ended in January.

      As for years late.. well I'm not sure. I'll have to leave that to a different member to answer. ^^;

    3. That would make sense. I have heard of a few cases where the company takes even longer than that to make the doll so that could explain a difference of one year in the time.

    4. Years later could be a reissue. Heliot, for instance, was reissued several times, as was Chalco and probably more that I'm not aware of ;) Soom does have a habit of repackaging and rereleasing their popular sculpts at least once, it seems, in different skin tones or outfits and sometimes with new fantasy parts.

    5. Soom in particular also does SO (Special Order) versions of a lot of their monthly limited sculpts...
      Usually those are human or Romantic (half-closed eyes) or different-resin-colored versions of the original release. My own "Desert Hermit" SO Heliot, for instance, is a normal resin human version of the original elf-eared, white resin "God Master" monthly. Those are sometimes released years after the originals.

      If you're just looking at the dates people list on their sales thread for when the doll was made, it's also possible that they're either guessing how old the doll is and getting it wrong (Not everyone keeps close tabs on that kind of thing-), or they're not the doll's first owner and are putting the year they bought the doll there rather than the year the doll was actually manufactured.
