It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order.   2. Dollshe Craft and all dolls created by Dollshe, including any dolls created under his new or future companies, including Club Coco BJD are now banned from Den of Angels. Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD. This ban does not apply to other company dolls cast by Dollshe as part of a casting agreement between him and the actual sculpt or company and those dolls may still be discussed on the forum.     1. I wonder if a giftcard could be an option, if you don't know exactly which she'd want?

      I've never given or received a doll as a gift, although if I can find the perfect frog pet doll somewhere I know exactly who I'm getting it for, haha.

    3. I've never gotten a doll as a gift, and I know that none of my friends or family would spend that much on a gift for me. BUT I have given BJDs as gifts to two of my closest friends. Neither of them are doll collectors, but they loved their gift dolls.
      I also plan to give my sister in law a doll for Christmas this year.

    4. My first BJD, Callista (doll in my profile pic) was given to me as a birthday gift by my dad when I first got into the hobby. The way it worked was I told him what doll I wanted and where to purchase it. So he was able to buy it for me even though he wasn't into BJDs or knew anything about them.
      I think it's pretty awesome that you want to give a doll to your sister. It'll make the doll even more special.

My first bjd gift was a partial gift from my parents for Christmas when I was still in college, a souldoll aehael. ^^ I paid for half of her, and they paid the other half as a Christmas & birthday present (my birthday is about a month after Christmas, so it's around the same general time). My other gift was an anniversary present from my partner, a doll leaves we ordered from denverdoll. In both cases there was communication so it wasn't a "surprise" type situation, though. If you want it to be a surprise though, and you know they'd want something from a specific dealer, I know denverdoll does offer giftcards.
