Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Has Soom improved their tan resins?

Jun 22, 2021

    1. So...I have a few Soom dolls in tan resins. However....it discolored VERY quickly, more so than ANY other doll I have ever owned (I own a LOT....and may need an intervention at this point.)

Fast forward to 2021, I see that Soom is starting to update their website, packaging, CoA's etc, and I am just wondering if they have improved on their darker resin colors. or the coloring in general to be more fade/UV resistant.

I haven't purchased a tan Soom doll for a while now, so I am curious about how well the color holds up nowadays.

I think the tawny-colored resin is holding up okay on my Soom Amber from a few years ago.

Anyway, let me hear your comments and of course, pictures are always welcome, because who wouldn't want a chance to show off their dolls?!

    2. For what it's worth, my Sooms in the "tawny" color seem to have aged pretty gracefully... But I'm very careful with all of my darker resin dolls, and haven't had yellowing or greening troubles with my older "bronze" Sooms, either. Mine have all been pretty stable so far.

    3. I have a Soom Rosette in tan from years ago and she started to turn greenish/yellowy a month later after receiving her from the company just sitting in her dark box. My bronze and tawny dolls are fine, just my tan dolls are horrible. :huh?:

    4. Ooof, yikes. I can see why you'd be scared off by that.

    5. This incident didn't happen to me, but I heard that someone's tawny Xyun(released in Oct 2020) discolored quickly during his faceup commission. Personally I would wait and give them more time to improve the resin formula (despite them reopened one of my favourite sculpt this month:().

    6. I have a bronze doll from a Free Choice Event in 2015, and his resin tone has held up pretty well. Unlike my first doll in brown tan that yellowed/faded to green unevenly, though that's mostly my fault for not protecting her from the sun very well.:frownyblush:

    7. I have a tawny doll that has been on display (but not in direct sunlight) for a year now and she’s fine.
