1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Have you ever completed your BJD New Year Resolutions?

Apr 9, 2024

    1. I have completed most of my new year's resolution however there was one year where my resolutions went astray due to circumstances that I was not expecting. However this year I am doing good and I am hopeful that I will be able to complete my New Year's resolution.

    2. I did 2/5 in 2022, 6/9 in 2023, and I've already completed 1/7 this year! I better get back to sewing :evilplot:

    3. I usually change my plans by March, so...usually no. :sweat I manage to get a few things done like faceups and sewing, but actual doll buying always changes course pretty quickly.

    4. No.

I don't make resolutions any more, they neer last more than a few weeks into the New Year so it's not worth the bother of thinkignhem up in the first plae or thestress of tryign to stick to them.

    5. I'd say I'm about 50-50, with some years getting done and in others failing miserably but spectacularly. :sigh This year, I only have one, but it has several parts and I am woefully behind where I thought I would be by now. At least I have 8 months left! :thumbup

    6. I am on top of things this year for my New Years Resolution!

My one main goal was to completely shoot my photo story that I had written. Write the words into the picture story, and begin putting it up. Over 1600+ picture frames and I have done it. I am slowly uploading the story on my Instagram. While the main story is complete, that was my goal for this year. I decided to keep going with adding more seasons to it. I have almost completed writing season two which will come out next year.

This has given me new goals, get one more doll for season two, this one is on order.

I also had a side plan to make them more clothing, and I did that, but I might make the boys even more shirts if I get bored.

Last year I spread myself to thin, so this year I made my goals simple and was able to complete them.

    7. This year is my first even having any BJD related resolutions at all. I made 10 but am expecting to complete maybe 5? I've already sort of stared on two, so that's good, but also when Impldoll Vilma got released I managed to fail one (not impulse buying a doll before shelling a character I've been planning to do for years...), so there we go, oops haha

    8. I love taking part in the yearly resolution threads here on DoA, and I have done so for years.:) You’ll always find me posting within the first page or two because I look forward to taking part in them. And I’ll refer back to my list as the year goes on, adjusting and updating it (with ongoing remarks and completions in purple so I can easily see how I’m doing at a glance.) I find it really helps to keep me on task, enabling me to stay on course and get things done. In this way I’d say I was able to complete 90-95% of my chosen goals. The one that always trips me up…the goal to not buy anymore dolls!:doh

    9. It would help if I actually revisit what I write in the resolution threads...but I probably didn't follow through with them hahaha.

    10. I am 3/10 so far this year :thumbup The pace could be better. But I think I could get it done. There's still a lot of time left in the year.
But yeah, the no more dolls resolution is a curse, so I didn't bother with that one this year. As soon as you say that, you are guaranteeing at least one must-have :wiggle

    11. I set some very loose resolutions and I'm currently on track! My resolutions primarily centered around finishing the dolls I already have before getting new ones and selling off some old ones I didn't want/need anymore. As it stands, once this next body comes in, I'm down to just needing faceups on heads and then my current crew is complete! I have two more full dolls to sell and a body that has been sold on layaway that my buyer is paying off, so that means I'm almost done with selling, too.

Things that weren't necessarily goals but I decided I wanted to do this year if possible were to try sewing doll clothes and take some photos. Those were/are pipe dreams purely because I knew we were going to be moving interstate and packing up our belongings for an unknown length of time, though, so I'm not too upset if I don't achieve those this year.

    12. I keep trying to but something always derails my initial plans lol the only one I had really made for myself this year was to only complete/finish who I already had and no new dolls till I do.....I just put a doll on layaway 2 weeks ago, purchased a new head last week (I also told myself no more just head buys oops lol), and am seriously considering putting another on layaway in the next few weeks lolololol

    13. Usually I'm the one who stick to my plans and never ask my self for too much work than what I think I can do. So, YES! most of the time they are completed :3nodding:

2 Out of 3 of my 2024 resolution can consider as complete even if I can add some more work to them. The 1 other is [Under process]

    14. No. I also completely go against my wishlist ant that time and way over my doll limits. Oop

    15. For the past resolution I've done, I tend to get much done but fail to do more labor-intensive ones. A big goal last year was to completely restring and suede certain dolls, but I found that all that needed to be restrung on my Luts boy were the legs, and instead of sueding I bought kips to put between their joints which has worked quite well. I need to restring one boy completely, but I'm still putting it off because I don't want to take him apart. Stringing is an extremely stressful process for me, so my mind likes to push back on it a lot.

My main goal this year was to clear out my room and organize my doll accessories, which I've done, and the second is to work on my impulse buying (specifically dolls for now), and since I'm on a Resin No Buy, it's worked quite well to curb that, though I did break it to buy a head that was time limited. Because I'd waited so long on it (it was there for two months) I was able to gather that it felt like something my collection needed rather than something that my brain wanted, though, so I'm excited to build this awareness moving forward.

The only other goal I have this year is to learn how to cut wigs and that's...well, I feel like I need some formal training on that one because it's daunting and I don't know where or how to start.

    16. I dont make new years resolutions.
But i did tell myself that this year is the year my dolls will all have some kind of eyes/wigs/clothes. Wether I make them myself or purchase.
Since a majority of them have sat naked for many years
And I say it's been going well so far!

    17. Nope, but I never let that tiny little fact stop me from making more resolutions next year xD
I have to say I don't take those too seriously, and thank god or I'll be completely depressed. I consider the resolutions more like things I would like to do or hope to do if life was amazing and perfect and nothing stood in my way (money, life events, etc.) so they're practically fantasies in that sense. Plus, you can't foresee if you'll discover a sculpt or a company you didn't know about, or if a new doll is going to be released, or whatever, and that can take the list of chores out of window xD
