Have you ever found “the One”?

It was Aletheia from notdoll I loved that face so much I got 2 of them but I am not very fond of her now cause she "is" a vampire and has fangs the fact is the fangs are so small and barely noticeable and she in the cute side like a kid dressed up in halloween costume , even with them has nothing to do with those scary vampire sculpts of today but I can't take them I decided anything even a bit monster like don't belong in my collection this means any monster high , tonner fantasy or whatever has to go , same with fantasy parts etc , I have a list of people interested in both my aletheias so they won't go up here but I still debate them it's the only "monstery" types I would like to stay here if only I could paint the fangs over and make them not visible but I hesitate as I think that I'll make a mess cause me and brushes we don't go well together.
So short story it was Aletheia from notdoll and it would still be if it wasn't of her tiny fangs

 

For me the doll that I view as my “the one” has to be my Iplehouse nYID Rexy. When she arrived it was like coming face to face with perfection. The negatives about her sculpting that exist don’t bother me because she is just perfect otherwise.

I find that I want to get more dolls to go with her to fill out the world at which she has become the centre. New dolls are considered in how they relate to her. My minis are her d&d/fantasy world characters. I’ve even considered getting an Iplehouse Cordelia because of the facial similarities but the JID body just doesn’t look as nice as the nYID.

I think finding your perfect doll is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because you love them so much but a curse in that other dolls never quite measure up. Although I also find that I love each of my dolls differently. My love for Rexy is intense but I also adore my other dolls for various reasons they just don’t have that same it factor that makes me gravitate towards focusing on them as much as my Rexy.

 

My telestesia and dragon 1/4 mu yunjun is my only doll rn (I’m waiting for doll zone xiao chu though) and I think he’s “the one.” He was the doll that I loved enough to get into the hobby. Now that I have him he’s absolutely perfect and I’m so happy I got him.

 

When I received my Iplehouse Lonnie, I was like immediately wanting more of her. So comes my Lonnie twins, and Reese because she's a rare doll with fantasy part.....and then a minifee since I've bought so many minifee clothes to fit Iplehouse kid (sadly some only fit minifee) and now a dodollsdream miss marionette because I love her colours. But always Lonnies are my favourites and if I have money, I would definitely buy Lonnie in other skin (Iplehouse's skin colours are also amazing)

 

I fear I may well have just done that with my Dollstown Rhea/DF-H hybrid as she has completely changed the way I now look at some of my larger dolls. Not the tinies though as you can’t really draw any comparisons there.
She has particularly affected my relationship with the couple of minifee I have.

 

Ravi, my modded DC Hugh is quite literally "the One". I always loved Hugh since the first time DC posted blanks of him and Bella, their very first dolls, and I was one of the first people to order one at the time, I want to believe. That Hugh stayed with me for a really long time, but due to falling outs (at the time, it got better) and stresses, and everything changing around me he was one of the dolls that were sold as I couldn't connect with him anymore at the time and I was extremely frustrated with the state of my collection.

Cue r e g r e t. But I also happen to be very sentimental so I didn't want to buy another Hugh. As a matter of fact, I refused to buy another Hugh because I knew he wouldn't be the same. And then a friend posted on Instagram that sometimes they wished they would find the conviction to sell their dolls and move on from the hobby as it didn't give them satisfaction any longer, to which I jokingly replied that if they ever did would they consider selling me their Hugh as he was one of the first dolls owned by someone else that I actually fell in love with and had been following for years. (keep in mind it was obvious I was joking, I would never ask someone to sell their dolls to me).

Next day I wake up to them messaging me 'actually, I could never picture him going to be with anyone else, if you want him I will sell him to you'. It was like something clicked, like the stars aligned, I can't explain it otherwise. The timing of it all, everything that came before, everything that followed... My collection would literally not have been the same if it weren't for him.

 

Blue, my Delf Soony, will always be "The One" for me. She is perfection. She was my holy grail doll and she really didn't disappoint. I'm also very, very attached to her now from years of showering her with attention and gifts (like, way more than any other doll I've owned). Every so often I go through a phase where I seriously consider selling all my other dolls and just keeping her, because I love her so much more. But in the end I always decide that it's fun to have a variety.

But yeah, I don't think another doll will ever beat her. And I'm happy about that. It's nice to have that one special doll.

 

My Sebastián: Loong Soul Lunar Mansions-Leopard Ji Shui Bao, and this was unexpected. Honestly, I thought it would be my grail doll Tristan: Soom Gluino, and I do adore him. I look over and see him and am happy I have him after so many years of wanting him.

My Sebastián though, he is just... je ne sais quoi. I can't even. I look over he makes me smile every time I see him. He just cheers me up in a way that none of the other dolls do. I can't look at him and not smile back. He wasn't even supposed to be that cheerful, but he is. I have had other dolls come home since him, and they made it onto a shelf, but he has not. I just can't put him up next to the other dolls. He just brings so much good joy!
