It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Have you ever kept the Sculpt Name as your Doll's Name?

Oct 28, 2009

    1. Well most of the time I don't like the sculpt names (I think they're too artistic sometimes XD) But I ADORE Two.S.Doll's sculpt names of Vivi, Mayi, and Dorean!! I really think they suit the girls style of being cute and fashionable! When I get a Two.S.Doll I will definately keep the sculpt name!

    2. My first doll is AoD's Zi Yuan and she was Ammy or Deena from the beginning, when I first saw a picture of that doll. The full name is Deena Lilla Amyriel. I never thought of keeping the sculpt name.

I wanted to have a little brother for her, and it was also clear for me that his name should be Johnny, even before finding him. Actually I was searching for a MSD first and found DoD's Kirill, and his name would have been Johnny Sirion Eridanus or Kirill Johnniel Eridanus - I'd call him Johnny anyway. Kirill is a nice name. But then I bought DoD's Camine instead and named him Johnny Sirion Eridanus. And I'm almost sure the next one is a MSD boy, maybe even Kirill, but his name will be something like Elias Jordaniel. If the sculpt name is nice, maybe the middle name can be it or something like it.

So, it depends on the sculpt name. I won't say I'd never keep it, but almost never.

    3. I've been so tempted to want to use sculpt names. I've been looking at a couple dolls for a while now, and I always call them by their scuplt name and now I think I'm a bit attached to them!! They are lovely names, but I'm going to try my hardest to come up with something better! I don't like the idea of keeping the sculpt name just becasue I could be more creative then that D: Or at least I like to think I could.

    4. I was calling my first doll by the sculpt name before he arrived, thinking I would name him the moment I see him. But you know even I named him a completely different name I still ended up calling him by the sculpt name. So I guess the sculpt name really stuck with me lol.

    5. I refer to my dolls with their sculpt names to the bf. He prefers me using their real names, the one's that I've given them, but I still get embarrassed and keep using their sculpt names >_<;

    6. I kept my 5stardoll Aiden's sculpt name... I was calling him it for so many months that it just... stuck. I think it's the perfect name for him, too, and can't think of anything better for him.

    7. I am never using the company name except for one...
My AS momo she is just momo :)

The rest of my dolls already got a name before i buy them so..
No other company names here :)

    8. Update: I've solidly 'named' and characterized my Volks Kun and my U-noa Lusis and B-el, but still call them by their sculpt names and so does everyone else in my local doll group. We just got a 4-armed Souldoll Shiva and I named her but when wearing her 4 arms she may stay 'Shiva' but toying with calling her 'Kali' instead.

    9. As a way to keep myself in control of my finances I'll only buy a doll if its perfect for a character, so all mine already have names when I pick them out.

    10. A lot of the sculpts have unique names, so if I can't think of a better name for the doll then I'll keep the sculpt's name--especially if it fits the sculpt!

    11. With my first doll, as much as I liked her sculpt name, I had one in mind already (which I later changed). With my incoming Impl ,despite having a firm name and character in mind, I'm worried she will end up keeping her sculpt name because thats what I've been referring to her as for a loooong time....

    12. I tend to name my dolls names that I really like but I have a real problem forgetting what I named them! Shows me I have too many dolls...............

    13. I guess i will name my future dolls somthing else and wont keep the Skulpt name.
i think it gives them more of an own charakter... ?

if it fits the skulpt name becomes the second name or something, but "Deifilia Woosoo" sounds kinda strange :3

    14. When I was thinking about putting a Souldoll on layaway, I found myself really liking the name of the sculpt she had and I was planning on making it be her full name when I got her. Some sculpts just fit the name they've got really well, and if it feels right for the character, it's a double win! xD

    15. I almost kept my Dollzone Asura's name... but decided against it eventually. I had at one point changed it around to Ashura, but forced myself to give him a completely new name: Seraphim. The sculpt name stuck with me a long time though and it was a hard adjustment; I sometimes feel like I should have just kept it.

My other two, Code no. 2 & LingFeng I definitely changed. Code no. 2 for a very obvious reason haha. My sister had bought DOD Cyma and re-named him and eventually gave him to me so I kept the name she gave him. If I had been the one to buy him originally, I may have considered keeping his sculpt name.

    16. I try to name my dolls myself, but I sometimes refer to them by their sculpt name. Usually I call them by sculpt name untill they arrive) The only name that got stuck, was Edria for La Legend de Temps head) she has another owner now anyways...

    17. Some I do and some I dont. My volk's Okita Souji I kept because I like keeping him in character. My B&G Freya I kept because it was a pretty name and I think it suits her. My puki puki Flora...she just looks like a flora!! :) The rest I chose my own names. It is a lot of fun to come up with your own names just some sculpts really suit their names form me haha

    18. I always keep the sculpt name even when my dolls tell me their names. The sculpt name becomes a surname or family name. For example: Aisin Sphaler, Anthony Isao Nanjou, etc. To me, the sculpt name is the name given to the doll by his/her maker and should be retained as identity.

    19. I have given everyone their own names so far, but I've got a little Yo-SD on the way who will be remaining just Chibi Isao-- I don't have my own character in mind for him, & I only wanted him because he's a small version of Volks's Isao Nanjou character. :chibi: I also intend to keep him in his all-default gear for the same reason (but we'll see how long I hold out against the allure of all the cute tough-guy Yo-clothes out there).

I think I will enjoy having someone around who's a character-doll just as he was sold. Tucked in amongst the other 30+dolls here, he'll be a novelty!

    20. Keeping a sculpt name is something I considered but it kind of feels like I'm calling the product, rather than a unique doll.
Like..."hey where's my Regen" -- emphasis on the "my" *_*
