1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Have you ever kept the Sculpt Name as your Doll's Name?

Oct 28, 2009

    1. I've chosen the minifee Chloe sculpt for my character, who coincidentally was already named Chloe when I wrote her story.
Has anyone else kept a sculpt name because you thought it suited them, or found a sculpt that was perfect for your character that just so happened to already have that name? :)

    2. Haha, I've been trying to change my dolls' names for years. I always call my Volks Pearl and Remi respectively by their sculpt names because I like the names so much.

      Chloe is a lovely name. ;u;

    3. I've kept the name of three of my sculpts. Two because it suited them, and I honestly couldn't think of anything else, though I did try to change one doll's name but it never stuck, she just liked her name and she really insisted. The third one, because the dolls in that story all come from a fantasy world based on Feudal Russia, and the sculpt name was coincidentally Misha (the name wasn't why I picked him) and I had no justification for changing it as I love that name and it fits the setting perfectly.

    4. I have for one, and that was my Soom Amber Pure Spirit. I had been calling her Amber for so long, it's the only name that seemed to fit her.

    5. As my dolls come to me forst as characters and secondly as dolls, most of them have names long before I have shelled them. I have still one doll, who has kept her sculpt's name - in a way. I have Loonette head hybrided to Dollzone B45-008 body, and she goes with name "Bunny". But her character is an android, and when I got her, I decided she need a model "serial" and now her official name is B45-008/"Bunny". :D

    6. My DearMine Nocturn had his name stick, only I added an 'e' to the end to make it look more complete. There are a couple of dolls on my wishlist who will keep their sculpt names, because I think they suit quite well.

    7. My Chloe also kept her name.. It depends on the name and if it fits the character. If i like it, most of the dolls will keep their name

    8. I haven't even received my first doll yet, but I don't think I have immediate plans to change her name. I quite like it actually. It seems appropriate to keep the name for the first doll, I suppose.

Maybe the second one might get a new name (assuming I'm going to be obtaining a second one). I might even want to try modding the sculpt so it isn't exactly going to be the same. Many big plans, but no time or the desire to spend the budget for more than one doll at a time. :...(

    9. I don't have the doll yet but I plan on getting a doll family A Wen. The first time I saw him I didn't have a character in mind so I just started calling the doll by his sculpt name and it fit him well. I also really loved the styling of that doll with the wig, eyes and faceup so I will probably keep those too. It is just such a well thought out doll!

    10. My Daydream Sally is known as Sally because I honestly can't make any names stick. And she really isn't a physical shell for any of my OCs because I'm quite picky.

    11. I have one of my dream dolls on the way and I've always seen her as Yori. It could change based on wig and eyes but you never know.

    12. I have Iplehouse Dexter on my wishlist and I am keeping the name. He so looks like a Dexter XD

    13. Almost all of mine have kept their sculpt names. It's kinda embarrassing?

    14. My first doll, Senior Delf Karis from Luts, is still named Karis because I got so attached to him before I got into the swing of character creation! I'm still not too good at it, but I started out just wanting pretty dolls. I had admired Karis for so long, he just couldn't possibly have any other name! He is the only one to keep his sculpt name, though I may always refer to my incoming Gloomy Roselyn as "Gloomy" regardless of whatever I name her.

    15. I've been calling my DreamingDoll Misora by her sculpt name until she gets home because I think I should wait until I see her in person before naming her - but I've been calling her Misora so much I'm worried the name's going to stick! I think the name really suits her.
