1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Have you ever think to sculpt (even just once)?

Mar 3, 2014

    1. I've been wanting to sculpt an anthro moth for a while, but that project has been put on hold for such a long time due to no time to sculpt and no extra money for supplies.

All I've done is make sketches of the little guy, and he's going to have so many joints, haha. But I hope to start on him sooner rather than later :)

    2. I'm planning to try and sculpt a body this summer! I have 3 axolotl characters, are two are childlike, so I'm going to keep their normal bodies. I'd like one to be a little taller and more shapely, so I'm going to try and sculpt a little body for her. It's definitely going to be a looooong process but I think it'll be a great learning experience! It'll help refresh my mold making knowledge and sculpting :D

    3. I made some animals a few years ago... Alas the material was even worse than my skills, all of them have cracked by now. :|
Still want to sculpt some characters though. Not human (I'm satisfied with the variety of existing dolls), but more or less antropomorphic and ball-jointed. :kitty1

    4. Absolutely! I recently started sculpting my first "prototype" doll using thermoplastic pellets. He's going to be quite tiny (I'm talking barbie size) but he's just a rough prototype to figure out how everything will go together. The "final" doll is supposed to be 1/5-ish scale and will be sculpted in paper clay.

It wasn't really out of a desire to fill a need so much as just wanting to have the experience. I love sculpting, it's calming. The kind of art you can just lose yourself in for hours.
