It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Have you ever wanted to be a doll?

Nov 22, 2012

    1. Hm they are quite perfect but at the same time, doll. Small. So I understand the envy but can't imagine trying to be one.

    2. I would like to be a doll yes very much so. :aheartbea

    3. I'd kind of like to look like a doll. I do dolly-styled makeup on myself on occasion, fake eyelashes and everything. But I am so ridiculously tall, I can't ever imagine being tiny like a doll, and not be able to reach anything!

    4. I would LOVE to be a Rozen Maiden doll! They're beautiful and they never have to do work. The only thing that I would prefer is to stay together with my sisters so we wouldn't have to fight each other for father :sweat.

    5. Nope not at all lol. I've seen how girls typically dress their guy dolls and I'm not about to be dressed like that. And I mean look at how *small* they are, if you know what I mean. No thanks lol.

    6. NO, I don't want to be a doll.

Do I wish I looked more perfect and beautiful? Sure. But looking like a doll and wanting to be one--both seem a bit strange to me. I'd want to be human. Dolls seem to be more mechanical and manufactured and have no free-will. When I use imagination with my dolls they are humans, not dolls.

    7. Nooo. I like being human. I mean, look at Toy Story. Even if you're a doll that can move on your own, you're still reliant on humans to take care of you. It can only end badly for the doll.

    8. Well, I sure would love not having to work for a living. ;; But then again, I could have that wish granted just as easily by turning into a cockroach.

Dolls do get way better shoes than cockroaches, though. So, sure, I'd happily give dollness a try.

    9. I don't think I'd want to be a doll, but I can see how someone might use BJDs as a model for styles and looks they'd like to try out (which is another thing altogether) before actually doing it.

    10. My friend and I had this conversation one night. And yes, we'd love to always have that perfect waistline no matter what, choose our bust size, change our eyes and hair so easily, and not ache when we spend weeks at a time standing in heels!

    11. Sometimes! Just in the sense that you'd be able to change your eyes or hair on a wim, have lovely clothes and be spoiled~
But that's about where it ends haha!

    12. No, probably not. Yes it'd be nice to be able to have the perfect body effortlessly, or change yourself, but arguably you can do all of that on your own now.
Colored contacts, wigs, etc. exist for a reason.

      Love yourself, yknow?

    13. I would not want to be a doll. I like being me! I am not sure why anyone would want to be an inanimate object. Not having to do anything yourself and a freedom to be lazy isn't enough to make up for the inability to do anything that you want to do. I would hate being trapped in a doll's body, unable to move or act of my own free will.

As far as looking like a doll? Eh, I'm not sure I'd mind that so much, but it also seems to me that having a perfectly sculpted body would get in the way of things. I am used to my body, flawed though it is.

    14. Heh, I would really rather not be a doll. I'm not sure if I'd like to look like (the majority of) BJD's either.. And my clothes I pick out for me are just fine... Now eye changing sounds like fun, though. My dry eyes at the moment would LOVE to be taken out and replaced by a bright, lovely, wet, happy, non dry and painful pair of acrylic eyes with neat gold iris's right about now. * w * Oh, contacts scare my eyes.. I've tried and tried but my eyes won't have it.

    15. I want to look like a doll but not actually be a doll ;)

    16. Hmm yes and no... I would like to be soft and I don't think I would like to be really tiny... if I looked like a doll though that would be awesome... especially if I looked like one of my elves lol :D I'd have really cool pointy ears ^.^

    17. Not a doll, no, I too like being able to eat and my squishy-ness. Even if the trade off is pointy ears, easily changed eyes and hair and a wardrobe to die for.
I have pondered being a cat though...I like the idea of lazing in the sun all day, not having to worry about bills or work, and being so easily entertained by laser pointers .

    18. I've thought about it before. :) I wouldn't mind being a doll.
I think it'd be an interesting experience, especially when eyes would be changed or during the whole restringing fight between elastic, doll and owner, lol.

    19. if I could move on my own and talk yes! I'd have great skin and could change my shape whenever I want, want to be a satyr? mermaid? no problem, just order the fantasy parts and put them on haha
