Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Have your doll plans ever been "eclipsed"?

Mar 8, 2008

    1. my custom house hades has been put on hold on several occasions he's now like 3rd or 4th on my list, but i got his character decided atleast. right now it's, sd kisame (bobobie apollo blue) baby kisame (bobobie blue sunny) and then custom house hades as my little toddler naruto. but he'll get bumped when if get a yondaime minimee project group order going before i order him.

    2. Definitely. I was trying to save for a Souldoll Osu, when I came across a few School A's. One of the first bjd's I saw was a School A, and although Volks' dolls have never really appealed to me, I was just in shock of the need I felt to have one!

    3. I already have a tiny and I was planning on getting a Naripon to keep her company, but instead I ended up adopting a Bobobie Sprite, compliments of my husband. He said that since I already had a little one, why not get someone else. I always loved fairies and I've never had an Elf doll before, so the Sprite won. I may still get the Naripon, I don't want to say never...

    4. Hmm a couple times but in a worst scenario. I actually in the past had a nonrefundable 150 dollar deposit down on this doll i was doing a short layaway on. But i saw my wonderful volks sd13 yori in this beautiful dress for sale and i immediately knew i had to have her. I tried to tell myself i didnt but i ended up losing the 150 dollars and purchasing her that day XP

    5. Lord yes... I've had plenty of plans get "eclipsed".

For over a year, I have been telling myself that MNF Lishe is going to be my next doll..... :sweat Whenever I get the money to buy her, I see someone else that I like better. I'm beginning to think that she will never come live with me :sweat

    6. I have been planning for months to buy Mellow Cole with my income tax cash, then suddenly realized that Notdoll ladies were still on sale through March 5th. I tried to resist, but I've always wanted one, so it seemed better to buy one now than later. I sometimes worry about myself and my total inability to stay on task. Oh well...nothing new.

    7. Hmmmm... I can't say...

All my dollies were impulse. I didn't have a concrete plan, thus... no plans to ruin XD.

    8. Yup. I'd long intended for my second doll to be my first doll Alice's brother Alexis. I wasn't sure what sculpt I wanted, but I knew I wanted to wait till I was sure I'd found the perfect one before making any more doll purchases.

Yet only a few short months after getting Alice, I had the opportunity to buy an Abio Angel in person and fell in love with their Er. I knew right away that this was not the right look for Alexis' character...but I had the money then and I just couldn't resist! So long-planned Alexis was eclipsed by an unplanned doll...and that's how Sho came to be.

I was a little disappointed in myself at first for my "impulse buy". But I absolutely love Sho to death, and now that I finally have Alexis too, I look back and realise I wouldn't have it any other way! :aheartbea

    9. Yes, I've had this happen to me. I would buy the doll that I want THE MOST RIGHT NOW. I think that its better to buy a doll you want now as opposed to a doll that you wanted in the past. You owe no loyalty to any inanimate doll, especially when these dolls cost hundreds of dollars.

When you get the doll and enjoy it, then there is nothing to feel guilty about. Only feel regretful if you end up not liking the doll and start to want the original doll more. Then you'd have to make the decision to sell the bought doll and buy the original doll you wanted. Hopefully, that should make you happy. At the end, the doll is the one who should make YOU happy. Not the other way around.

    10. Always! As soon as I have the money in hand the doll is sold out!

    11. Haha. XD

My first doll was supposed to be the main character of my stories. But instead, I found a sculpt that looked EXACTLY like another character from the same, and he was less expensive. So I bought him first.

While waiting for that doll to arrive, I saw a head on the marketplace of another doll I'd intended to buy, so I got him too, and a body.

I'm still saving up for my "first" doll.

    12. It happened to me. I planned out which dolls I would get in what order.
I was going to buy Fdoll tobias who would be Noah. I already knew what colour hair and eyes he would have and the type of face-up I would give him. Then I learned dollshe is making some changes and Husky may be discontinued. I have been wanting one for a whileso I used the money saved for Noah and some other money to buy a Husky.
It will be a long while before I can afford another doll.

    13. Oh yeah. I had great plans to get a MnF Shiwoo girl, and I had a whole new character I'd created just for her.....And then I laid eyes on Tensiya's Tanned Hound. And I knew in that instant he was, without a doubt, meant to be Illarion.
I did feel a bit guilty about abandoning my plans for a Shiwoo girl, but the idea of not having Illarion was so much worse the guilt hardly mattered at all.

    14. this happens to me all the time which is the reason that sometimes i think i should just save my money until the perfect one comes along

there are 4 dollfies that i seriously want at the moment but my budget can only just about manage one

its heartbreaking to feel this way actually
but i feel that i should just leave it until i either have enough money or a sign points the way to one or something

good luck with trying to get them I'm sure you will:)

    15. Yepyep! I'm totally set on getting a neon. Tooootaallly set.

Except for the MNF Woosoo that screams BUYME,HO. every time I even look at neon.

I am very tempted, but I know neon is limited, and ickle BUYME,HO is not.

      We'll see, yes?

    16. I was going to order new wigs and stuff for the dolls for my birthday last December... But I had to buy about $200 worth of fencing gear instead, because I switched weapons to epee and also had to replace my worn-out jacket. XD; It's expensive to fence, but I love both of my hobbies dearly.
(But, then again, just last week I had money socked away to have my kids' faceups professionally done, but I had to renew my fencing association membership for an upcoming tournament. >____>)

I have to admit, though, that it's never happened for a doll. Right now I guess I'm just trying to get my current dolls all situated.

    17. lol that happened te me a few times as well when I really started to look for a doll to buy , I think I changed my mind about 4 times , but I still love the other 3 dolls a lot as well. :)

    18. This has happened so many times:sweat.

First, I was originally planning on getting a DS Saint, but then when I saw the DoT Lahoo I had to get him (plus he was the first doll I ever really liked). Sometimes I wish I got a Saint, but then I look at Grendel and a Saint just couldn't be him.
Then after Lonan, I was planning of getting a MNF, and then I wanted a DiM Persia, then a Souldoll Asiter, then another DS (Dollshes are :aheartbea) and then an Abbadon, and jeeze this list keeps getting bigger, buuuut after seeing an owner pic of a Bobobie Weylin I decided on him because after looking at the picture for a little bit a really important character I have took that mold and now I'm stuck with him:). Originally I hated the mold, but thats because company pictures are terrible and dont do him justice.

The only down side is that now I can only get an Asiter second hand:|. Bah, oh well.

    19. I planned my first doll would be a CP Shiwoo.
But when I saw a white skin Bijou on the leekeworld site. I was :aheartbea. She was also a bit limited because of her skin colour.
And I noticed I was buying cute stuff that only fits a little girl, so I bought her first. ^_^
The Shiwoo came 6 months later.

      Don't feel quilty!

    20. Yup...
I was planning on making my first BJD an SD sized girl, but then I was surfing around sites looking for MSD sized boys for another character that I had planned...
Needless to say, I saw the DoD U fullset, fell in love and bought him instead...
