1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Have your dolls ever gone completely against your intended plans?

    1. Jane, my Narae, was meant to be a chic fashionista, right up until I opened the box and saw her all new and blanks and waiting to be given a perfectly made-up face-up... and realized she was a hippy.

    2. I don't really have characters for my dolls, but once I figure out what wig and eyes look best on them, that becomes their character. My plans revolve more so around their clothes and I intended to have a variety of different clothing styles, frilly dresses, and period costumes, but so far, they all wear modern dressy casual, even the elves. XD

    3. I didn't exactly plan on having so many BJD's and them basically taking over the house. I meant to have 2 big dolls and 2 smaller dolls. 2 1/2 years later I have a crew of 22 plus two floating heads. To be fair most of them didn't cost me all that much. I'm not into buying really expensive BJD's and mostly I buy used or from Miro but still it's a lot of dolls. I don't always conceive their characters beforehand but usually when I do it's based on something I feel when I look at their pics. Usually it works out okay.

Only one doll has ever really confounded me and that was because there were two personalities to deal with. For a long time I kept going back and forth trying to decide if it was a he or she and no matter what I picked it just never worked because that doll head was housing twins and they didn't want to be either, but both. At this point I have re-shelled them both into totally different dolls and given them their own identities. They have completely different names, Ismene and Isidore, and the original head is completely abandoned. I haven't decided as yet who it will be or even if we will be using that head at all. I still really like the sculpt but that head it's empty and it's not really talking to me. So for right now it's just a floating head....
