What a quiet thread! I recently got a Ruse secondhand, and she is so cool! But I'm having a bit of trouble with her posing. She wont even sit up or stand! Has anyone tried restringing these girls, or anything else to help her out? Ive never restrung a doll so tiny before
Hi @Cydril Do you know which year she was made? Some of the last girls to arrive from the factory were a bit floppy, but not as severe as what you're experiencing! I wonder if the elastic is damaged inside? @Betina worked on her girl to make her more steady. Hopefully she might be able to offer some tips?! @aneemal ,I love the eyebrows on her! Its so cute how they can just sit in the palm of your hand My girls sales thread says she was made in 2015. Were the ones from that batch just floppy because the elastic wasnt tightened enough? I think I can manage to fix that lol. Maybe she was just played with a lot and the elastic is stretched out. Usually I hot glue suede my dolls, but she's so small I'm afraid it will impede her movement. My girl is a redhead too ! Her name is Gwen. I cant wait to get some freckles on her.
Ahhh, redheads are great!! I love Gwen's fiery colour! Yes, the 2015 batch felt like they were strung quite loose by the factory. I think if you were just to pull and tighten the elastic from the neck hole and resecure it to the s-hook - that might go some way in improving things! Have fun!! (Freckles are always a good idea IMO! LOL)
So sorry @aneemal , I couldn't reply earlier. I worked her body, yes, first of all replaced the string, but the new one wasn't any good, so I took the old one and shortened it by the knot, much better, but anyway I felt she needed a little bit more help, my Ruse has several silicone kips, one on the neck part, and a couple of the little ones on the knees, and I sueded with hot glue her torso, waist and hips. It's difficult as she's tiny, but mostly on her knee joints, that is where I feel my doll needs more help, for the rest of the joints it's the same, I think... Now I'm changing the knee kips for real suede, I think it will be more stable, they move a little bit. Anyway, I think she feels more confortable sitting than standing XD If I want her displayed I put her on a stand. Hope it helped a little... Ask if you need anything...
Thanks you Betina! I will try to get some kips for her. I think I might also wire her legs. I went to tighten her strings and the elastic knot was in her hip, so after moving it back up to her head it helped a lot lol.
Ah, I'm excited to see this thread sort of active! I'm waiting on PayPal to go through so I can receive my second hand Ruse I love the tiny mature sculpts and I fell in love with Ruse. My intention is to do face ups, sewing and wigs for dolls but Ruse is a personal doll, not my practice doll :p I can't wait to make her a face up and new wig then dress her in Kimono and Lolita :3

Giving this thread a Christmas nudge to share that my gorgeous little ruse has FINALLY come out of her box and is on her may to Meggilu for an exotic face-up... I finally had the perfect wig commissioned for her by Amadiz studios - so even though the poor darling has been in her tube since I lightly modded her eyes a week after she arrived from the first pre-order... she will finally be herself as of the New Year *YAY*
I small bump for this thread. ^_~ I played with my girl and did put on a short hair wig (until now I only tried out the long hair wigs but wasn't somehow satisfied). I think I like her how she looks like now... even if I imagined her always with long hair (maybe I will find a matching one in the future).
Are any more of these amazing girls ever likely to be made? I miss mine terribly and gave been hoping to replace her eventually.
Hi! I got a Ruse this year and i tried to do a wig for her but i failed, too tiny for my abilities, so anyone can help me where i can buy great wig for her? Thanks for any help.
My Ruses are wearing size 3/4 wigs from Fa-tiao, who sells on both Etsy and eBay. Also, I tried Volks 1/6 Dollfie Plus wigs on the girls; those were tight but not impossible, especially with a dab of PVC glue or eye putty to hold them on.
Oh, no, it wasn't, she has a Ruse also, and was selling wigs for her. She's really nice and helpful, you can ask her, if those are Ruse' size.
Such a cute doll, I fell in love with her after seeing her in ginger mohair wig, but I have to say she looks great in many styles.
