1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. How did you discover the BJD hobby?

Apr 8, 2011

    1. I don't even remember... It was so long ago haha
I mean I could never act on my wishes until recently but I've been lusting after dolls for years and years with my friend Retrobox ♥

    2. One day a month ago I was looking through a big russian web-site about dolls, looking for information about Tonner dolls and suddenly saw.. her.. Freezia.. It was my "death" )))

    3. I was at AWA and saw a group of people with their BJDs and asked about them. When I came home I looked up information on them and fell in love. Of course, I didn't have the money then and kind of put it aside, but recently it came back up and I have fallen in love all over again and decided to buy one.

    4. I blame randomly running into a picture of a Unoa Lusis back in........ 2005. I never sat down to research them until about a year or so later however which is when I stumbled across the, then old, Dream of Doll site and fell in love with the DoC Yen. I kept researching the hobby on and off since then and the rest is history. I still don't own a Yen, by the way, but I so hope he'll get to fit a character of mine eventually so I can bring him home. u-u

    5. My cousin introduce me before when i was around sec 1/2 . Somehow she a bit afraid of them o.o
During that time i was not really interested but until then when i saw one of my friend.. The way she take picture of her bjd make me in love with BJD. So, in the end.. i bought my first BJD in DOD.
I kinda regret not buying earlier as my cousin introduce me the website.. there a bjd which look very cool.. but now i forgotten the website :(

    6. I was a dealer at a doll show and in walk this 20 something girl, holding this strange doll. I am afraid that I may have creeped her out, I followed her everywhere, then asking other dealers, what kind of doll is that. Once I found out, I went back to my booth and my Mother who was my partner at the show, handed me a magazine with a BJD on the cover. It was the most beautiful doll, I had ever seen, Elfdoll Sooah. She was my first.

    7. Many years ago in a web site to see Alain pictures of Volks ,,and I decided to buy one, but that time have no so much money.Although this desire achieved many years later, but finally is realized.

    8. Funny actually that i saw my first bjd's at my first anime con. when i was 13 yrs old and didn't even realize until about half a year ago lol (sixteen now and have been studying them for years)
maybe cause i didn't get a real good look at them?

    9. My girlfriend was in the hobby for a little time when I knew her.

    10. A friend of mine (Raouken) showed me her Chiwoo when we were still in college together and I was hooked the moment I saw him.
Tried to fight of this virus, but failed miserably and less than six months later I was waiting for my own BJD to come home.

    11. I was looking at random videos on YouTube, and happened to stumble upon one that was called "The Creepy Doll Experiment". A girl was walking around with her BJD in the mall. Upon laying eyes on her gorgeous boy, I immediately wanted to know more. From then on, I started to look up more videos, and then pictures, etc... I don't remember how long ago that was; maybe two years?

Sadly, the video has been removed, but I still thank that girl in the video. If it wasn't for her, I would have never discovered this endearing hobby. ^ ^

    12. Well about 8 some years ago my friend bought her doll and I remember how much she was freaking out about it and just going on and on about all the details. I dont believe I ever saw it to be honest. Then on DeviantArt I started seeing more and more and more pictures of the most beautiful dolls I'd even seen before. I slowly looked at more and more companies till bam I asked my friend about it and just decided heck why not lets do it. And now here I am.
I think thats a pretty original and random story but its how I started.

    13. I was into collecting anime figures when i stumbled upon Dollfie Dreams. Back then I only really wanted the anime looking ones since to me, DD = giant articulated anime figure haha. Took a few years till I actually got one for myself though.

    14. I also collected anime figures first then a few Taeyangs (male version of Pullip). I had seen resin BJDs but thought they cost so much. Then one day i decided what the hell it's my money and i think they are beautiful so i got one. I'm now a total addict :)

    15. I'll gladly share my story :) One of my dearest friends collects old, porcelain dolls that are broken or homeless, or both. She's also got this thing for mannequins. There was a time she got very ill (among other things her eyesight weakened badly). I wanted to cheer her up so I started to search the net for some interesting human sized dummies for her to watch, so that she didn't have to tire her eyes. At some point good Uncle Google started to show me pictures of BJDs (well, back than I didn't know what they were yet) and he really, I mean REALLY, got my attention *_* I remember calling my friend, shouting something like: "Look what I've found, you must definitely check this out, this is amazing, check those links I sent you!" And the first BJD I've ever seen was ResinSoul Mei :) I totally fell for her until I found out that I totally dislike her body :| Further months of searching and learning about BJDs led me to my very first owned doll, Auri, which is my beloved MNF :aheartbea Well, I'm aware my addiction has just begun. My wallet is begging for mercy, but I don't care. You know how it is ;)

    16. I was randomly googling for Victoriana one day and came across this picture of a beautiful Koitsukihime doll. So, of course I had to find out more about the type of doll and if I could get hold of one.

I was really disappointed at first because everything seemed to be anime style in aesthetics, but more searching brought up companies that were making realistic looking dolls (that I could afford! lol). I'm always searching for that perfect, serene looking girl!

    17. I was watching tv a reallllly long time ago and came across a doll convention on tv and i got really excited but never knew what they were then i came across them again a year or so later on deviantart ^.^

    18. I think I discovered the hobby through a friend I've known since high school. He owns 2 dolls of his own and so I must have started researching from there. :]

    19. When I was attending anime conventions, I would see them. I always saw them at all the anime conventions I would attend and every year and I got a little more curious about them. It was just the last few year that I actually started being more interested in them and researching them. When my best friend got hers and I got to see and play around with her, it then I knew I wanted to go ahead and get my own.

    20. I saw a display of them at a convention, which included one that was cosplaying one of my favourite characters. It sparked my interest, and I started doing some research into these 'BJDs'. The rest, as they say, is history...
