1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How did you discover the BJD hobby?

Apr 8, 2011

    1. I first discovered this hobby when i was browsing through the net and came across some of the pictures that the doll owners took of their bjds and i just fell in love straight away. went to do some research by myself and happened to find out that a few of my friends were doll owners, thus i went and asked them everything i needed to know about this hobby. They were the ones that introduced the few of their favourite doll brand and i have been hooked ever since i had my first bjd

    2. I got into this hobby only recently this year but it started years ago. My dad use to take me to our local anime convention and one year we went and saw a someons BJDs we just stared in awe. My grandmother collects dolls and my dad has a collection but me? No not at all so seeing a doll so pretty was really interesting to me having been surrounded by doll collectors. I forgot about them and would see them and be amazed but never figured out what they were or where they were from and last year at my local anime convention I went and saw a friend that I had no idea she was the girl who was rooming with one of my best friends I thought she was a stranger and I flipped out like omg your dolls. I've Seen them what is this. She let me hold them and everything and then I figured out who she was and she became my BJD senpai I guess I'll call her that. She taught me everything and I dragged three others with me down the rabbit hole if bjds lol. Its been 6 months and I have two dolls and one more on the way. And thanks to these dolls my dad got into 3D printing which he's been staring at for ages so they were a win win.

    3. Someone on Flickr followed me and as you do i checked her profile out to see if i liked hers to give her a follow back, and i saw this dolls that were so beautiful and well posed, my heart automatically started hammering with love at first sight and so i asked her what they were and she was nice enough to explain in detail what they were called and so on... about 2 weeks later i got my first bjd called Annie and i loved her. I never expected doll items to be so expensive so i didn't really do much with my dolls that i started to collect and in the end i was getting bored of them, until i stumbled across Fairyland and fell in love with there minifee mirwen and that was last year. I've been collecting for 3 years and this is the first year i have taken it really seriously as i've got a good job now and can afford doll items, and i have the most amazing dolls now too :)
