1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do we 'play' with our dolls?

Mar 20, 2013

    1. I don't worry too much about my dolls. I take some basic care that they are not going to get damaged and then just do whatever I want with them, basically--

      1. Dress them up for Meetups.
      2. Dress them up for Costume Contests.
      3. Dress them up for photoshoots.
      4. Travel with dolls to Meetups and Cons.
      5. Put together outfits--eyes, wigs, shoes just for fun, or for the meetups or photoshoots.
      6. Have them sit about... but displaying is the main reason I have dolls.

    2. I love to pose mine. I love discovering new things that they can do and cool things they can do with their bodies. I was posing Fable and freaked out because I swore she was going to bend over into the crab walk. :P
I also love to dress her. I only have limited clothes for her, so I like to put them together and cute new outfits by reusing the clothes that I already have. :)
Taking pictures of her is probably my favorite thing though!

Do I 'play' with my doll? Absolutely.

    3. I have just got back into the hobby after a year away. I did have a great friend and we would buy the same dolls and then play while talking on the phone, shopping on the computer together while on the phone and seeing what we might like for our doll. we would have a story of them being cousins and either country girls or flash city girls, and dress them to match. I like to play with the American Girl food items, like hamburgers and such with the dolls leaving out things for them to eat and drink, a coke. LOL I also love to put rollers in the hair, and change their clothes, I only like to have one doll and she is my friend at home. Gosh now it sounds kinda sad :)

    4. I like taking picture of my dolls. I think that's my play style with my dolls. After took beautiful pictures of my dolls, I'm really happy.
Actually, sometimes I think my real hobby is photo and dolls are helping them.
But I really love my dolls anyway.
If they are gone, I can't handle it. :(

    5. DajmDumle > I am a fan of your pics on Flickr!!! Yes we can see that your little girls love to play with you

I sew mainly for them and my dolls are a support for me improves photo! I like to change their style by changing their wigs and their eyes. I would now like to try to make up... In fact, over time, I discovered and I want other creative uses.
      Have fun!!

    6. It's interesting to see how different people do different things with their dolls! I think that's one of my favorite things about this hobby, how many ways there are to enjoy it. For myself I don't create photostories or anything like that (even though I do enjoy reading them) but I just have my little guy around the house with me. I like putting him in different poses that I think would fit his character, especially now that I've loosened his strings a little so that he can hold poses better... Mmm, besides that, I take pictures sometimes, ~*try to*~ make outfits for him, and change up his outfits when I feel like it. Unfortunately he doesn't have too many options right now in terms of clothes since I'm still expanding his collection...

Hopefully one day I'll be brave enough to give him a 100% new faceup instead of just enhancing his factory one!

    7. I got started with dolls in order to sew for them. Making outfits and then redressing the dolls to display them is the main thing I do.
