1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you feel about modifying your dolls?

Oct 8, 2013

    1. This one, for me, I'm totally torn on. I've saved up for my dolls it's so hard to imagine modifying them (I've never even restrung my girls!). Yet I technically modify cheaper vinyl dolls all the time! I think maybe one day I'd be willing to modify a resin doll for fix-up purposes I just can't cope with the idea of taking anything to one of them yet.

    2. NOPE NOPE NOPE i wont even touch my dolls, i would love to be able to do face ups but im no good at that :( so i stay away, it would break my heart if i ruined any of my girls. Even changing lashes im crap at it thats how usless i am. So thats why i by dolls with an amazing face ups so i don't need to do it lol i so admire the people that can mod there dolls :)

    3. I'm looking forward to my first mod, a female to male mod for my incoming boy ^^ I think it'll be a good learning experience, and I know that even if I mess up, I'll still love him all the same.

I have also thought about piercing doll ears, etc., but after reading about the glue method I think I'll stick to that. The hole kinda dissuades me a little. =^_^=

    4. im so into modding, ive been able to fix all of my mistakes so far so im not very worried. my doll has gone through like two dye jobs that messed up, but mr.clean fixed that issue. I'm actually mostly scared of sanding because even though i use a mask and do it outside im just terrified of having plastic dust in my lungs ;-;. But i plan on making my doll pretty much unrecognizable. I dont think any bjd exists thats exactly how i want it, so modding is pretty sweet. Plus its just really fun :3 and i always love seeing other peoples mods.

    5. I have modified the nose of my big boy as when he came he had a chip there due to the owner mishandling him before i got hm but he is an absolute sweetheart and looks way better now that his nose is modified, other than that i dun think i have modified any of my other dolls that i currently own but i did have an open eye mod little rabbit from volks that i have sold away previously.

    6. For me, It's making the doll more unique in it's own way. It's making the doll ooak for the owner.

Though I don't consider doing it on my dolls. Maybe when they got damaged. Or piercings, I love earrings, if you consider that a mod.

    7. The modding I don't understand is when I see someone take a doll with narrow eyes and mod them to be bigger and rounder. Why not just buy a doll with big round eyes to start with, since they are more prevalent.

    8. Because i'm a total noob, I haven't modded any BJDs...yet.
I would love to know how to, though. If I did, I'd be modding like crazy, to me every doll has that *one* thing I would change.

    9. Its hard to imagine tbh i love my baby but i do want to buy another head of the same sculpt to modify her but i'm scaredo do it

    10. I couldn't do it. I'll be too scared to ruin my doll if I mess up

    11. I'm quite new to this hobby so I don't have enough knowledge how to do stuff properly, but give me some time and I guess I won't be so terrified of modding *_*At the moment I'm quite happy with making outfits for my dolls and making sketches for future mods :)

    12. I don't think I could personally mod a doll. But would by a modded doll that I loved from the MP.
