1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you Handle the day before?

Mar 31, 2015

    1. I'm obsessive, too. I'm currently waiting on a doll to arrive, and watching delivery trucks go by is pure torture. I hope she comes tomorrow!

    2. My dolls never have clothes before hand, because I usually have to have them in my hands before I can start making anything. Sometimes they don't even have wigs. But they always, always have eyes waiting for them! I usually do something to distract myself from the tracking-reload habit.

    3. Congrats on your upcoming minifee :)

And what do I do the day before? Worry if I have enough money to pay the 24% taxes of the doll before the custody would "eliminate" my doll :|

I wish my doll arrival was as happy as you guys have

    4. That totally depends whether the doll gets stuck in customs or not. If they hold a package, I'm getting very much stressed out. I try to follow the necessary bureaucratic procedures, and when that's done, household chores help with calming down.

    5. In my country they are always taken by custody. No luck there:...(

Once I get my doll signed out of the custody then only my waiting fun starts :)

    6. Congratulations on the new dollie!

Pretty much, all I do is check obsessively the tracking number to see where it is in transit. Hahaha. Other than that, nothing else really. =D

    7. Hi there! Thanks for all of your funny responses, I got her though! She's here and I thought I would share my beautiful girl with you :D

    8. She's gorgeous! Glad you got her safe and sound, clearly the wait was worth it :)

    9. Agh!! She's even more gorgeous than anticipated. Well done styling her:chibi

    10. The day before? lol I'm obsessive from the moment that I click buy.. So, I rush and buy a new wig, clothes, and such for their arrival. Then everything arrives but the doll... still 4 months to go lol But seriously, I find myself nervous, and anxious the day before, I just want them home

    11. During shipping I stalk my package. I get the flight number and stalk the plane as it crosses the ocean. Then when it lands in Chicago, I hope it passes though customs. While Chicago is only two hours away, it can still take a few days for my package to get to me once it clears customs.

Really the only thing I worry about if I know I am getting a doll the next day is to make sure the camera batteries are charged for the box opening.

    12. I'm currently waiting for my first. But any other fun mail I receive I check the tracking all day over and over and try to make sure I am home so that I won't miss the delivery. The sound of the mail truck pulling up is the best sound ever. :D

    13. I mostly try to act like it's just another day. I've had false hope too many times, when a doll is less than hour away the day before and I just KNOW it'll be home the next day, then it gets lost or delayed for another day or two. If I act like I don't care, it tends to go better. haha

I do my preparation earlier. I buy clothes, shoes, eyes, wig and accessories while I wait, then lay out everything on the coffee table when I'm expecting the doll within 2-3 days. Every day I see those things, I get excited again, and then I can go ahead and paint and dress them the day they arrive.

    14. The day before is full of anxiety and excitement. That and checking the tracking every 30 minutes.

    15. Like everyone else, I stalked the tracking. He was purchased from Denver Doll Emporium, and they are excellent at staying in communication, so I knew precisely what day he was to arrive. I scheduled the day off from work. I had a wig, eyes, and boots waiting for him, I made him a little white cotton robe so he would have something to wear right away. When I heard the mailman pull up, I sprang out of my front door like a jack in a box. I think I scared the mailman to death!

I went over to a friends house and she walked me through doing his first faceup. He is such a beautiful doll, perfect profile/ perfect lips. Seven years later, he is still (secretly) my favorite boy.

    16. :)keep tracking the mail, and just wait at home if I dont have anything to do at that day.

    17. I usually make sure I have everything such as clothes, wigs and shoes :D
I just got my girl two days ago and I need to send her off to my friend in Arizona for a face up :( But I know I'll be happy with her face up when she comes back home <3

    18. The day before my doll got here I tried my hardest to distract myself so I wasn't just dwelling on how much I wanted it to be tomorrow. Like going to town and the park, walking the dog extra, anything to keep my mind from that my doll was coming tomorrow so I won't die of excitement and the day won't take a million years.

    19. from the moment i'm told my doll's shipped i stalk its tracking information but on the day before it arrives i usually make sure my desk is nice and clean and just tidy up,
all the while wanting time to go by quicker.
then on the day it should arrive if i'm not at college i sit in front of the window watching out for the van  (i know i'm a sad person) i always hate it if a delivery van pulls up but its not for me.

    20. I generally check the tracking information regularly, once I have a tracking number. Generally it's just a couple of days on that, though I'm waiting on a doll coming via "epacket," so he's taking his sweet time getting here, and it's only a once-a-day check on the tracking for me, instead of the obsessive every-few-hours I do once I know the doll's landed in the US.

I'll also typically get out some clothes for the new arrival, and if I have eyes and a wig on hand already, I'll set those out, too. Basically, getting everything ready for the doll's arrival, so he or she can look as much like what I imagined right away.
