1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you know?/Buying Anxiety

Nov 19, 2014

    1. I had purchase anxiety more when I started the hobby 5 years ago than I do now. I have a solid grasp on what I know I'll like and what I won't after buying and selling. For me, if the doll meets one or more of these requirements: dreaming/romantic eyes, pointed/elf ears, and has fantasy parts, it's likely going to stay with me. The only dolls I've sold were lacking one or more of these qualities that I found I like best.

    2. For me, I don't buy dolls who I don't know who they are. There are absolutely sculpts that I love and would like to possess, but if I don't know the character's name, personality, preferences, etc BEFORE I buy, it's not happening. All of my dolls (minus a $45 purchase for a mousie Hujoo) are characters I already have. I have to see a doll, be overwhelmed by "yes, that's them--that's them exactly!" to even seriously consider.

Then I usually make myself wait. If I keep coming back to the site/seller posting, can't get it out of my head, still feel that same rush every time, and get anxious about losing the opportunity, then I know it's a good decision. Although I know the chances are slim, I'd like to come out of this hobby never selling or regretting a doll.
