1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you know when to sell?

Dec 29, 2005

    1. I third this :)

    2. I also fourth it XD

    3. lol usually when i put them back in their boxes is so that their company new smell can set back into their resin, I love the smell of the brand new luts doll ^_^, but I can't leave them in there for too long cuz then I miss them, I completely agree with Ayaka if you can hit the post button even if you regret it you're still going to end up selling them it happened with my bee-a, I was regretting selling her because she was my first doll but I know she has a good home now ^_^, I didn't exactly leave her in a box as she did not have one of her own but I still lost interest in her

    4. Thanks for the advice everyone ^-^

I've had him since May 2004, and have never really properly bonded with him so I think I will sell him once I find a way to explain to my mum...

I just hope he doesn't end up getting passed around the ebay market like some dolls do o.0 that would be awful. So I think I'll sell him here if it comes to it

    5. If you do sell him, stick him up on here. We're all doll lovers, and no doubt someone will give him a lovely new home. ;)

      Good luck with it.

    6. I agree...if you want to sell him post him in the Marketplace, atleast you know people who want to buy him want him to love...and won't become some commodity on ebay.

AND they even have a list off good sellers and buyers with feedback...:)

    7. After I'd gotten G his new head and body, which is a one-off memorial model with the new SD10 self-sitting body, I had to sell the "old" one, which was the LE Michele. I'm stopping at 2 boys, so it made no sense for me to keep an extra doll around. Although I miss him sometimes because I do love the default Michele very much, I don't regret selling him as he has been adopted into a very good and loving home and I still get to see him (in photos) sometimes. =)

    8. I am giving some serious thought to selling some of my dolls. Do you decide it's time for them to go when you rarely play with them or what?

Mine, for example, I've noticed I rather carry Mike or King around. Kalan is still in prograss and Kyo...well, my boy would kill me if he got sold. Dimitri and Yurik I'm learning about and so feel a sort of connection there. But some others...not so much.

    9. I feel the same way. I just don't know what to do either. I really like the dolls I am thinking of selling, and one of them I have had for 1 1/2. But, I feel like selling her! I think that if there is a doll you like more out there then sometimes you have to sell a doll you like to get one you like even more.

    10. I've heard that placing that doll into his or her box (or just stashing them away) for about a week and seeing how it effects you may give you an idea of how youwould feel if they were absent from your life.

    11. Yeah, I know. But the ones I am thinking about selling mainly lay on the end of my bed, or sit upon a bottle. I have sold some, and don't regret it.

    12. Well, for Duae I know she said she just didn't play with Dee and she didn't fit the character she had planned and so she decided to sell her...

After I broke Dee's poor little pinkie finger I was wondering if I was a bad parent. x.x' So I didn't touch her for a while and I found myself being sick at myself for at least not changing her clothes... So I think the putting the doll away and seeing how you feel really helps. It certainly made me realize that, although I am afraid of hurting Dee again, I love her too much to part.

Something you can always do is see if anybody near you is interested in buying one of your dolls. Let them hold the doll for a while and see if they can bond with it and see if you don't miss it.

    13. One thing that will factor into my decision to let a doll go is the balance between how much I think about/photograph the doll and how much he seems to be wanted by collectors on the board. If I consistently come across WTB threads or much swooning in Gallery posts...I'll begin to feel that a doll that gets little attention here would be showered with it if rehomed. :(

    14. I think it sounds like you really want to sell them Rynn007, you're just waiting for us to say it's ok. ;)
I say go ahead sell them the ones you don't want as much will always be someone's dream doll. You shouldn't have trouble selling them.

    15. Yeah, well, it is a Breakaway vampire (needing a faceup!) and my elf yder vampire who needs a faceup, maybe some more sanding inside the eyewells. Zagzagael guessed the other one in a PM. ^^

    16. With the dolls I've sold, I consider how much attention I give them and how they fit with my other dolls. I will usually get caught in things like, "I wanted this doll for a long time" or "this doll is too pretty to let go", but it's always a good idea to step back and look at your overall goals for your doll family, etc. If the dolls don't work out along these plans, then it's time to let them go.

    17. I knew it was time to sell my AR Ren when I noticed her wig had dust on it and my friend commented that she was in the same position from a month ago. Obviously I wasn't playing with the poor little dear. :(

    18. I think it's either I really need the $ and can't get the $ from another source,

or the doll will get more love in another home because I just can't seem to appreciate the doll as much as I should compare to my other ones. =T

    19. I know right away, I really loved the dolls I ended up selling, it wasn't cause I was disappointed in them, but something just clicks when the doll is a keeper. It just isn't there with the others.

    20. Well....
I felt like selling the DZ Xi head that I bought because he was a pain to give a faceup for >_>

I think I may be able to work around it in the future, but I constantly think about sellign him away. The only thing is that, I haven't seen another doll that could replace him. I tried looking, the morning I wanted to make that decision. So that's why he's still with me...
