1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. How do you store your dolls amonst other accessories?

Sep 17, 2013

    1. If my dolls aren't hanging out in my sewing space with me then they're sitting on my desk or bookshelf. I'd love to set up a nice little display area for them someday.

I'm fairly organised with their things... I have a 5 drawer stackable plastic shelving unit thing for all their things. The top drawer is for extra hands, heads, wings, eyes etc. The second drawer is accessories and small props, the third is the Minifee drawer for all their clothes and shoes, the fourth is SD clothes and the bottom drawer is for SD shoes. I have a separate plastic bin (a laaaaaarge one) for wigs.

I won't go into detail on my sewing/painting supplies. They're everywhere XD

    2. All my big dolls have a shelf to themselves in my room. I haven't touched them in over a year, but I still like to look at them so I just left them there. Honestly, I don't feel they've really yellowed very drastically. I do know one of my boys sadly has green toes due to my stupidity in keeping him sitting near my lamp, so the lightbulb constantly shone on his feet until one day I actually looked at him and realized his toes had turned green. Oops.

My little dolls also had their own shelf until a few months ago when I had to box them up to make room for a new collection. But I've missed them and just tonight I took them out and set them up elsewhere in my room. I don't know if I like them there or not though so I'll just have to wait it out a few days, but I really don't like storing them in their cases or boxes. Even if I hardly do anything with them I still like to look at them. But I'm rapidly running out of storage space with my growing other collections so something's going to have to give eventually. I hate things looking cluttered and it's bothering me that I can't display everything as neatly as I would like.

    3. Mine stay in their boxes on top of my tall dresser when I am not messing around with them. It keeps them out of the way and in the dark because while yes, yellowing is inevitable, I would like to slow it down as much as possible. My dolls also all have rather expensive faceups so I like keeping them stored and where they are unable to do something to their faces.

    4. I have a pair of the "business-grade" Ikea glass front display cabinets for most of the dolls to live in. They have adjustable glass shelves, which is helpful for different size dolls, and they have locks on the front to keep nosy children out.

Then each doll gets their own stand so they're safe from taking a tumble. If the volume of dolls exceed the cabinet, I'll decide what to do at that point. :)

    5. I have an Ikea bookshelf with 6 shelves. Since they're adjustable, I have two shelves a bit taller to accommodate my dolls. The shelf below it is where their clothes and shoes will go, but it's still very much a WIP. Must declutter the room first. :XD:

    6. :)My girls didn't come with box's so they sit/stand on a desk in the same room as me but as for there doll accessories they get put away in boxes that l bought etc intill l need them.

    7. I am actually really, really happy this discussion is up because I have been worrying about this for a while. I see that people have them in areas where no direct light is, and I've heard of many different ways to prevent yellowing. I personally started to work on a cape for my dears and is planning out "room" designs for them that will include a way to close and open when I need them. In this case, I've looked into designs for boxes with an attached lid that I will be using, and it will more than likely take up a chunk of the corner of my room since I'm trying to have a little... house for them I suppose, with furniture and all because I'd just feel uncomfortable to leave them just laying down all the time.

    8. I got them all sitting around my room except for the newest one which is still in her box. Haven't found a place to sit her, yet ...

    9. I store my dolls safely in their boxes, since I'm seriously paranoid about yellowing (even though I know I can't stop the process and some of them have spent years in sunlit area with their previous owners).
Still, there are times of which I need my doll(s) for more than one day, so I put them on a high shelve (so that our cats can't go and drop them) and far away from the window and sunshine. I also sometimes put some kind of blanket or piece of fabric on top of them, just to be sure that the sun wont get them when I'm not looking.

    10. Mine are in pieces in separate small boxes on my bookshelf. I took them apart to do a thorough cleaning/restringing/resueding/etc since I hadn't touched them in half a decade, but I got distracted after dismantling them and haven't finished lol I really need to get on that...

    11. Mine live in my room. 88 sitting around on the dresser, shelves, and the rest in the floor on benches or couches.

    12. I am very worried about yellowing (one of my bjd is already yellowed..:doh but anyway), so I have always kept my dolls in their default boxes and in the dark room except when I play with them. I know It takes a lot of space and maybe there is no use in being so afraid for yellowing. but I think I just want to keep them in their own space safely and that makes me feel relax and comfortable.

    13. I place small articles of clothing in a makeup bag, shoes and boots in a plastic bag, and clothing in a laundry basket; it works well for me, I know where everything is!

    14. I dedicated my very big drawer for them. I put a pillow first and then the dolls.
Everyone of them stay with their face-guard on and wear light-color underpants.

    15. They just dont have any place ... First I planned to sit them on my desk, on a kind of bed, but once, when they were posing on photoshoot, my cat found this bed so good...

So now they are... around... on my sofas, on a chair, etc... Well, they are parts of my everyday life !

    16. I keep them inside their carry cases in a specific cupboard intended for dolls, when I'm not playing with them. I can't have them just lying around with all these children and pets, as much as I'd like to hang out with them all the time.

    17. I keep my dolls stored in their boxes in a closet. Clothes and wigs and other doll items are stored in plastic bins, which I keep in the same closet. I'd love to display them, but we've got cats who like to knock things over!

    18. My dolls sit on my dresser and their stuff is packed in tea tins I got in a gift set from Teavana. The tins are on my desk with my face up supplies. The ins are different colors and a nice size for traveling.

    19. Usually I have my SD13 chilling in her "room" which is a shelf on my wooden bookshelf where she sits on her couch with her plushies. I store all her clothes in a little jewelry drawer box that I use as her wardrobe. As for her other wigs and shoes that she doesn't currently wear, I store them in a box along with the magic erasers and misc. items under my desk.

    20. My dolls have taken over all of the rooms in my home except my bathrooms and kitchen !!
