1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you store your dolls amonst other accessories?

Sep 17, 2013

    1. my MSD is under my window on a little shelf so she is not in direct sunlight but im saving to buy a feeple60 and I have no idea where she is going to be my only option is at the bottom of my wardrobe where my MSD's bed is :(

    2. My dolls sit around in my room on my bed/shelf/table, I don't keep them boxed up because it's easier to play around with them when they're not in a box.

    3. I have them sitting or standing about in dollie 'rooms' (on shelves, the floor of my - or rather the dolls' - living room, on tops of furniture) - using the doll furniture & accessories I've got. I change them about seasonally or oftener as the mood strikes me.
I did NOT spend all this money on my dollies to have them sit unseen in boxes! Even if my main raison d'etre for them is photo stories, I still want to see them all about me :D
My fav set-up is the little pool table area, where the boys have an ongoing game. The balls move all the time thanks to the cats which is so creepy & cool all at the same time.

    4. My few are currently kept in a glass front cabinet that sits in the corner of my room. I keep all of my collectibles in there so they take the top shelf. Our house has a massive amount of tress, so little to no sunlight really ever reaches our windows, so sunlight is not a concern through my windows

    5. My dolls live in their house, set up with wall shelves in a basement room. They are out of direct light since the only window faces North. After collecting furniture for them it seemed a shame not to enjoy them with it. (Our basement is also nice and dry.)

    6. I am sad to say that most of my collection are still in their boxes and stored in a closet. I have 170 dolls and only have 9 of them out on display. One is a MSD size that i have in a display box on top of my dresser and the others are tinies in a glass shelf hanging on the wall in my bedroom. I would love to have all of them out but i have no room in my home and am also paranoid of dust. One day when i have a larger house, i would totally have a doll room where all my dolls will be displayed behind glass shelves and such. It may be awhile so in the closet they will stay for the time being.

    7. Mine get designated spots that they and all their stuff goes. I try to keep my stuff in other places, and I generally do. The only thing I keep in their boxes are clothes/accessories that I'm not currently using.

    8. My dolls and all their accessories are in boxes: at the beginning I let one or two free in my sewing piece, but one yellowed at the exposed (though protected from direct sunlight). So now I 'waiting for my husband to redo the workshop to find a place in a showcase where my dolls could be exposed without risk!

    9. My dolls usually stay on a short coffee table I use to display them and my nightstand where my SD sized dolls sit. When I'm at my parents' home they usually stay on my bookshelf though. Their accessories and clothes are all stored in small trunks and boxes when they are not being used, however.

    10. I usually leave them posed in their dioramas, even the MSD, or I leave them on my desk

    11. I have all my dolls on display in 3 glass cabinets in my darkened bedroom. When I decide to sell a doll, it goes back in it's box & in the closet. I don't worry to much about yellowing as they are kept in the dark. Then when I want to play with a particular doll, it's readily available. Besides, I like posing them in with furniture & all sorts of little accessories so they all have their groups & themes.

    12. Does anybody use acid free tissue paper when storing wigs and clothes? I've ready somewhere online it was a good idea, but i'm pretty inexperienced in all of this, so I thought i'd throw it out there. And while we are on the topic of storing things, what kinds of material do you place your dolls on when there in the boxes? I have a pink tinged pillow that I don't really trust against the dolls skin so I probably had to make my own I guess

    13. I have most of my dolls in an Ikea glass case, well two of them acctually. They are easy to take the dolls out of and they are protected by dust. I also keep all my dolls away from direct sunlight.

    14. Mine are on my mantel in my living room (out of direct sunlight of course!). I used to keep them in their boxes when I wasn't around but then I started feeling guilty because I would forget to get them out when I was around.

    15. I keep my dolls in their boxes because otherwise they'd take over the entire apartment. But I only store them in the outer (shipping) boxes. Their company boxes I've flattened and store underneath the bed. There's enough room in the outer boxes to store all my dolls (in their cushioned pillow bags, with face protectors), and all their fantasy parts (in bubble wrap), and all their accessories. And the whole thing doubles as a bedside table, too :XD:

    16. I keep mine out ^^;; But when they need putting away I keep them in their carry cases

    17. For item that I use frequently I keep it on the bookshelf where I can access to them any time I want.
The rest will go into my storage box to keep away from dirt and only take out when need.

    18. I have mine in a dark cupboard. Their stuff is what's in their boxes. ^^
When I had my first doll, I kept her in her box but once I had like 3 SDs I wanted to have them easily accessible and still safe, so I made room in my cupboard. ^^

    19. I keep mine in an 8 1/2 foot French antique armoire next to my bed so I can see them 24...7...365. I had the mirrors stripped 20 years ago for my dolls. My room is bright but I keep the blinds closed so there is NO direct light coming in. Also they are away from any windows. I'm lucky because my room is facing the north. Looking at those precious little faces in their beautiful dresses brings me much happiness.

    20. My dolls are currently sitting on the top of a bookshelf, on a really homemade sofa I made for them, where they don't get direct light (the curtain is always semi-closed, with only a tiny gap.) I want to have my doll where I can enjoy them and I keep in box only the unfinished dolls (the ones still without face-up and/or clothing, like my poor Withdoll Juwel).
In the bookshelf, among the books, I have my off-topic dolls and some accessories, too.
