1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How long are you willing to wait?

Jun 17, 2007

    1. I'm waiting a doll after a six month layaway and a further two or three months for production... It a long wait, but worth it because it's a limited one.
I don't mind waiting for something that I really want.

    2. I just preordered my first BJD from MintonCard. They said it could be 4-7 months - I was disappointed at first but now realize I'm okay with it as long as I get her. It would be nice to receive more communication of the dolls process... The not knowing is the hardest!

    3. i am willing to wait as long as it takes as long as i have a clear line of communication with the company i an purchasing from. i am aware that there can be delays so as long as my emails are answered i feel comfortable waiting if i have to

    4. I think that because my first doll took over 6 months to come in I have been somewhat desensitized to long waits, so I would probably be willing to wait as long as it takes for the right doll. In fact, I find that it's kind of nice to be waiting so long that you forget a bit until you get the package. It makes it much more exciting, somehow? Like a surprise, but not?

    5. The longest I've waited so far has been almost two months, not bad. I am impatient and prefer to buy second-hand to receive them quicker. But if a doll I absolutely loved was going to take a long time to get to me, I would be willing to wait.

    6. I have had to wait a long time for a doll before, I am pretty patient and understanding as long as their is communication about a delay or a long wait time.

    7. As long as it takes for them to get it ready. And get it right. I know a lot of people cant stand waiting times and they demand the companies to send doll NOW or they will sue. I dont find that a smart move because often or not, they'll 1) send u something defective (coz they have nothing else on hand).
      2) send you an incomplete order (coz they were waiting for items to be filled in the first place)
      3) send u the wrong color (coz they have nothing else, duh!)
Luckily, I'm on the patient side.

    8. If its a company I am fine with waiting a pretty long time. Soom has a "100 day promise" which is a little long, but they seem able to uphold it. I feel fine with the extra week or two extra that comes with ordering through Denver Doll because they're a reputable dealer in my country. So about 3 months doesn't seem unreasonable. Definitely wouldn't be willing to wait as long buying second hand or "in stock" from a dealer.

    9. As long as it'll take... What could i do? I've no power to speed up the process. Though i'm pretty much okay with waiting.

    10. I think I waited a little over 4 months for Doll Chateau to come. I used layaway thru DDE to help pass the time.

    11. The longest time I've to wait is 4 months because I buy layaway doll. I think it ok for that if it won't hurt my wallet

    12. I'm willing to wait. Even if it's delayed, I'd rather not have mistakes in my order or broken parts. I'd hate to have to wait even longer because I have to send it back or wait for them to correct my order. xP

    13. I can actually wait long, I think the hardest time is if I get the information the doll will be shipped then I can't wait till it arrives. *_* :o

    14. First Resin it was near the end of March before I could bring him home to pay off my layaway (and he was second hand) for my second, it took me a good couple of months to finish her layaway off then another month before I actually got her. (She was a CHristmas present)

    15. I am totally not okay with waiting.. I only probably got 3 factory dolls but the wait kills me.. so I buy second hand dolls.. LOLL

    16. i don't mind waiting, i just get impatient because i want to start working on the doll as soon as possible. I had to wait 7 months for a doll once because my order got lost. That was the worst.

    17. I have been waited for a doll for a year!! fortunately i forgot that i have ordered that doll...and now i'm still waiting !!! can't believed it... maybe the agency forgot my order...

    18. I waited nearly 6 months for one of my dolls. Never again. I check the waiting time given by the company and check it against the customers' estimates. 3 to 4 months max. is now my limit.

    19. I bought a couple dolls during one of Customhouse's infamous half off sales, so that was about a six month wait...and even expecting as much, it was still a little rough. I mostly buy secondhand now, and while I think a three to four month wait is about standard for new dolls these days it's a bit much for me!

    20. As long as I trust the company to come through, I'll wait a long time. I ordered a Ringdoll boy through Mint On Card and it took 9 months, but I'd always had good experiences with MoC and knew ahead of time that although Ringdoll had long waiting periods, people do GET their dolls. The only time I worry is when people have waited an extremely long time with no communication from the company.
