1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How long do you wait before getting a new doll?

Jun 2, 2013

    1. Waited a long while, carefully deciding on one particular, reasonably-priced doll... Then bought three. (Though, one was free as part of the event.) They haven't even gotten here, and I'm already intending to put one on layaway next paycheck. It's like I realized I could make dolls into characters I've written about and the flood gates of extreme want opened.

That said, I can't splurge on myself all the time. I plan to maybe do layaway one doll at a time from now on. We'll see, though. I imagine experimenting with the three I've already ordered will have me occupied for a while.

    2. I usually try to wait until one is almost complete before I get another. I say that but I usually have multiple unfinished dolls laying around. If I waited until the where fully done then i wouldn't even have half of them at the moment.

    3. Let's see. I ordered my first doll on May 26th 2014, then got her in July. I just ordered my second doll yesterday with funds from selling my first doll, so not quite a year.

    4. About five minutes after the latest one hits my door. :P

Just kidding actually with me it goes in splurts. I can go months and not buy much other than maybe a wig maybe. This last couple of months I went a bit crazy and I bought 2 bodies, one used, one new, a new head, a used head, a used whole doll, some cheap shoes, some used pants, and a used wig. But I could. I had a nice size gift card given to me for Christmas and another one for Valentine's Day so I wasn't spending my rent. I would not normally spend that much in that short of a time but I did have the cards and I'm kind of winding up my BJD collection. I'm just trying to get the last few basic things I think I need to get them all dressed. I had nothing by way of boy shoes or pants, and I still needed bodies. There were a couple of unplanned purchases there, the heads, but overall it went pretty well and at least some of it was second hand. I saved some major $$$ that way. Offline I'm going through some stuff. It's stress city around here. I felt like I needed a little retail therapy, grin.
