1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How long do you wait to re-message a company?

Oct 4, 2021

    1. I sent Alice Collections a note last Wednesday I believe, and so far they've always spoiled me by getting back within a day or two. I heard there's a major holiday going on in China and that long waits for an email back is to be expected, but I wonder how long in general should someone wait to hear back about a question?

I know it's only been five days in my case, and I'm going to wait a but longer, but what if there's a sale going on and you need an answer before it ends?

My only real concern on my end is that the email didn't send properly, because there's no way to tell if it sent at all.

    2. Iโ€™ve heard that Alice Collections will honour the discounted price if they donโ€™t get back to you in time, but I canโ€™t confirm that for sure.

Golden Week will end this Thursday (7th Oct), so it is likely theyโ€™re not monitoring emails as closely. A copy of your sent emails are generally kept in a โ€œSentโ€ folder, but if youโ€™re concerned if it has been received, then a polite, โ€œHi, I hope youโ€™re well! I just wanted to confirm my previous email came through as I know China has a national holiday at the moment. Thanks for your time.โ€ is appropriate.

As long as youโ€™re not going in like a Karen on the warpath, a short confirmation email or gentle bump to your question is not going to be seen as rude.

    3. Well, I used the website itself to message them, not my email, so I don't have any sent receipts. I'm going to wait till Friday at the earliest before I message again.

    4. I think in most cases, waiting a week is reasonable. Sometimes messages don't go through, sometimes they get lost or accidentally deleted before being read. We're all human and technology can fail. I like to give people a reasonable time frame to reply, then assume if they haven't, something has prevented them from getting the original message.

If it's during a holiday, then I usually wait 2-3 days after the holiday ends. That gives them time to enjoy their time off, then take a couple of days back in office to catch up on everything.

    5. ACBJD is normally very quick with their emails. However, just like the rest of us, they do take time off when there's any major holiday in their country. I'd take @CloakedSchemer 's suggestion and would contact them sometime next week. In the mean time, I don't think there's anything to worry about. You're in good hands when working with ACBJD :)

    6. I'm just gonna vent a wee bit.... Nothing personal at all... to anyone, But as the one who has given their hard earned money, why should anyone have to dread being seen as a 'Karen' and be so damn submissive to hope for a proper response? I see it all the time, and again, has nothing to do with this particular post, but if you are on vacation/pause for a certain amount of time, you should say so! Why do the customers have to kow-tow and 'play nice' when businesses who depend on purchases treat their customers poorly? Communication is a small thing to ask, as expectations go. Anyway, just saying. Call me Karen if ya wanna, lol.

    7. I am going to wait a little longer like I said, but I'm also curious about what other people would do. I think I saw somewhere that one company can take up to two weeks to respond, so if that was the case how long would you wait to contact them? Alice is known for their quickness so it would be worrying a lot faster than someone who already took forever to respond, but surely there's a limit somewhere.

And agreed, if a company is going to take a week off they should put a note somewhere on the front page.

    8. China is on holiday until like the 7th or 8th, I think. That may be the cause of some delays in communications. (At least I think Alice's is based in China?)

    9. I usually wait a couple days, keeping an eye on let's say a Q&A board. For example, if I reach out to LUTS and I noticed that they skipped over my question for a day or two, I'd repost and have a gentle reminder that I had asked previously and had not heard back yet. They're usually good about replying after that and a few times, they've reached out to me directly via email. I'd say be reasonable and understanding as much as you can since it tends to yield some prompt and generally understanding/nice service. It's very rare that I've ever wanted to go "Karen" on any company since most have generally been lovely people :)

    10. I totally get you! Honestly felt a bit bad when I had to contact a company over an issue with my order but like you said, you pay a lot for a product and it's only fair that you receive what you ordered or at least have some sort of resolution for what went wrong. Even a brief explanation is fine at times :'3 Communication is always important :3nodding:

    11. Alice Collection has this message directly on their contact us page: "If you don't see our reply in 48 hours, it's quite possible that our reply has gone to your 'spam' folder, please check it ^^, or you can send another message." Knowing that, I would give them 72 hours and then politely resend, just in case my message got lost in the shuffle. That being said, if I knew it was during one of their holidays I would probably wait until the holiday was over unless it was time sensitive.

    12. I usually wait about a week before contacting them again

    13. I've only had to do it once or twice. I will wait 2 or 3 months before I get concerned.

    14. I've ordered from AC dozens of times, and they never ship in less than 2 months. And that's just for clothing and accessories. The few times I ordered a doll from them, it took several months. I'm in the US.

    15. Ah, you misunderstand. I was at the time asking about getting a reply to an email, not about getting in a shipment. Usually Alice responds in a day or two, so when it was almost a week I was getting concerned. Thankfully I DID send a second email, because the nice responder said that the first had never shown up. I got my questions answered and that was all I needed ^^

    17. Ah yes, sorry I misunderstood. As for getting replies to messages they are pretty good. The longest I remember it taking was about a week. I'm sure they get hundreds of emails and messages to answer.

    18. Depends on the company and how big my order was. and how long my last email was. But usual 2-4 business days
