1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How long was it between getting your first and second doll? (pt.2)

Sep 26, 2022

    1. 2 weeks. Bought my first doll and wasn’t sure I wanted to be in the hobby. Th night I opened him I was in love and wanted another.

    2. About four years between my first doll and my second. For a long time I was content with only owning one doll, and I wasn't sure if the hobby wasn't just a short period interests. And well, it was 2012 and I am still in the hobby, with a growing collection :) And the third doll was ordered just a year later after the second, so things escalated quickly :sweat

    3. I took over a pre-order of someone else's so I didn't have as long of a wait in my mind! I ordered my Pasha Pasha Original on 5/31/23 and received her 11/3/23.

My second doll was a Pasha Pasha Simply Beautiful that I ordered on 1/3/24. I received her on 1/6/24!

Only 2 months between getting my first and second girl.

    4. I ordered my first in July and I’m still waiting for it. Since then, I’ve ordered another, and then ANOTHER second-hand. I don’t have any of them yet, and I keep coming up with flimsy justifications for them, like “my week was hard, I deserve to treat myself.” RIP my wallet

    5. If we're counting floating heads, then it was about a month and a half. I ordered my first doll in early July this year, then a head in mid-August. If we're talking strictly full dolls: I'm planning on ordering my second sometime this month. So... a little over three months. My first doll isn't even here yet...

    6. Only 4 months later (May - September), because my second doll arrived only one month after the order instead of the planned 5-7 months. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.

    7. I ordered my 2nd a few months after the first. The 1st arrived long after the 2nd. Crazy times.

    8. Nearly 5 months, but I actually received my first doll as my second because her preorder took so long! I ordered Rafeyah as my first in mid February and received her late October, and bought Nebo secondhand in late June and received him early July!

    9. Three months. I realise that it's a fantastic hobby and I want a doll taller and with more mobility. Now I've got dozen or more, from 10cm to 80cm and I am very happy with them.

    10. Maybe some months. I got my Ipleghouse Aria and some months later I orderder a doll for Shedoll because I wanted a Levi look alike doll. However I canceled the order 2 months later because I didn' feel any bond to thar sculpt and then i got my Iplehouse Juan.

    11. About 10 years.

I ordered my first doll 12th of November 2013, and I doted much on her when I received her. I never felt the need to have another doll, but after some years, my interest went dormant. It recently resurfaced this year but the style of doll I like changed, so I ordered my second one June 22nd this year. I then ordered my third one in September :)

    12. @Bellamina I am in the same boat! 10 year gang xD

Got my first doll in 2014, did a lot with him but at some point was distracted with studies/being new to work etc. I also simply didn't have the funds back then. Now, I randomly remembered him because I moved and went onto a google spree...suffice to say, ordered more dolls this month. But I plan to go the MSD route now... c:

    13. A few months! I hadn't planned on getting another one so soon but I fell in love and had the option to get the second doll on layaway. I got my first around summer 2023 and the second one arrived arround november-december of that same year.

    14. Surprisingly (to me), it was 1 year and 6 months (almost exactly).
I held back on a second full doll for quite a while.

    15. Actually 3 months, before receiving the first doll, I have ordered another ! Finally she arrived a month later than the first one ! As I explored the doll accessories, I simply wanted more dolls to fit different styles, and the doll company where I had bought the first one organised an event ! Not my fault absolutely lol

    16. My very first two dolls were actually ordered at the same time! I'd been a fan of this hobby for years, but when Little Monica first shut down I took the plunge! Bought my two favourite sculpts at the time (a 1/3 Haazel and a 1/4 Bear). My next doll was bought only half a year later..

    17. Pretty much exactly 2 years. After receiving my first one I had doubts about if this hobby was for me after all, but thankfully I ended up eventually getting the second doll since that one made me realize that no, it was just that particular doll that I first got that I didn't like, not BJDs in general. :)

    18. I'm not sure. I think it may have been a few days, although I could be misremembering and maybe the first two arrived together.

I do know that within a year I had 10 dolls and a floating head. LOL!!

    19. I went over a year between my first and second doll, I just wasn't in the best space to expand my collection nor did I find a sculpt in that time that I really wanted to bring home. What's funny to me about this hobby is that the more dolls I have the more I want..... So I started out a little listless in terms of what I wanted my collection to look like, but now each doll I get inspires me with new characters and ideas for new dolls

    20. I had to go back through my phone photos to not make a lair out of myself but a year and a half. I did good looking back compared to now lmao. I give myself credit though because that was my first doll and it was a custom that cost quite a bit of money compared to my budget at the time. I also didn’t know as many brands as I do now and was figuring out what I did and did not like at the time while enjoying what I had.
