1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How many dolls do you usually take to a meet up?

Jul 10, 2009

    1. For your first meet up I'd think you'd want to take no more than you can comfortably carry together. After that you have a guideline for what you can handle.

Personally, I did restrict myself to 2 dolls for outdoor events where we were walking around for the most part... until I broke down and bought a red wagon to tow them around in. For indoor events I've happily grabbed everyone once I had a pile... and there always seems to be fewer that make it into carriers for the return trip, especially now I've realized the jumpseats are three dolls across...

    2. Right now, since I only have my two MSD boys, I take them all. XD They generally fit into a backpack with their stuff, like their picnic-scarf, which they seem to have adopted from my favorite painted Japanese scarf, but since I use it too.... XD When I get more it might be a bigger deal trying to take them all, but for now it's not too bad. Heck, I take them everywhere I go anyhow. X3 People like to see them.

    3. I've only ever been to one small meet (just me and another owner) and I brought 1 doll, even though at the time I had around 10. I had to travel 3 hours by bus to get to the meet and I figured that travelling with one would be a lot easier than travelling with a few more. Unless I went to a meet up in my village, I doubt I'd ever bring all of my dolls, even though I have considerably fewer now.

I'd be comfortable with bringing two dolls at maximum, I think. I have two Volks SDCs and when my Soom Glot arrives I'll have two YoSD sized dolls, so any combination of those would work, I think. My tallest doll is a Dollfie Dream and DDs are so light to carry I might stretch to three dolls, but two is going to be my usual limit.

    4. I'm taking with me 3 of my SD dolls and will take more when i'll get 'em. I think that i could take 2 SD more but i'll check it later^^

    5. I usually only take my Unoa Sist, Alyssa. She's small so she's easy to cart around. And Unoa are pretty popular, so some people appreciate getting to see one in person.

    6. I've only been to a couple, but each time I took one MSD and one SD. In the future if I go to more meets, I will probably only take either a MSD or SD, plus maybe a tiny. Unless it is to a more organized indoor event where I can comfortably put my dolls down someplace (such as on my table at a Volks party), I'd rather not bring more dolls than I can comfortably keep on my person. One in my arms and one in my bag, with both fitting in the bag.

However, I love to see other people's dolls! If you can carry more dolls than me (I am rather petite and my arms are wimpy), or have wheels to help you haul your bunch, then I say bring as many as you like! <3

    7. I bring all my kids with me to meets. Most of the one's I've been to have been at people's houses so it's not a big deal to bring them. I love to see everyone's dolls, so I think it's great when people bring their entire collection and not at all showing off.

For those outdoor or "going out" meets I used just have to deal with carrying my SD and my MSD..I've since added another SD into my collection and have yet another on the way so I've gotten a stroller that comfortably holds all my kids and then some.

I think the only time I'd only take one or so is if we were having a meet at a crowded place like a Con. I'll probably just take Token and Din to Kumoricon as Sorensha's ears break too easily.

    8. It depends on the size of the dolls.

Only big dolls... No more than two.
Only smaller ones... 'Could be as many as four.
In combination... Usually one or two of each size.

The last meeting I went to, for instance, I took Mystic (60cm Dreaming Breakaway) and two of the Minis.

    9. I usually go to meets every 3 or so months, if there are a lot of new members coming to the meets I bring almost all my dolls [have 7 at the moment] but usually 3 or so will do.

    10. I don't think I could ever bring more than 5 to a meet myself. For me,, that's the point where it would become to easy to lose track at a bigger meet, and become unruly for me to handle them all.

I also feel like I'd be showing off too much, even though I never think that of people who bring their entire LARGE collections. I love looking at other peoples dolls, but I think mine aren't anything super special (well, I think they're special, but I doubt any one else does with my current girls), so I think bringing a gang load would be..... awkward.

    11. I can never decide who I want to bring, so they all end up coming lol.

    12. depends. If we are going to a building I will take all six of mine.if we are going someplace more open or public I will only take two.

    13. It depends, usually 1-3. Once I took 6 dolls to a meetup and then I thought I'll never do it again. It was pure pain to carry all of them (including camera, tripod and other stuff) to the meetup place

    14. As there are two of us (me and my partner) we usually bring 3-4 dolls as more is difficult to handle and look for. We can bring 2 but never only 1 'cos both of us want to be dolli-ed :)

As we have 8 dolls we take them to meet-ups alternately to show all of them.

    15. I agree with this.
I've never had more than 3 dolls at a time though, so all mine come with me to meets.

    16. I haven't really gone to a meet... kind of? (I did stop by a meet at Fanime... 2006?) but at that time I only had one doll.

but if I was to go to another... I'd probably will only bring one big doll/msd and/or a couple of tinies...

    17. I don't like bringing more than two lol And, quite frankly, sometimes I feel like two is one too many for me to handle at a meet-up.

    18. Whenever I get dragged to an informal doll meet up (this happens often) I usually am used as a doll stand (since I don't have one yet). People usually bring three: 60, 40, tiny. I usually have a 60 around my neck (on my shoulders) and an MSD with a tiny/BB in my arms. It gets heavy after a while.

    19. usually i bring one onlly, and according to the theme of meet up.

    20. I usually bring only one or two depending on meetup location and what they're wearing. I brought three dolls once but that was because I was dropping one off for a new face-up.
