1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How many dolls do you usually take to a meet up?

Jul 10, 2009

    1. I haven't gone to any meets yet so I've been asking myself this exact question. The majority of my crew are msd and smaller, I only have two SD sized boys, so I could carry a lot of them with me. But as it would be my my first time I wouldn't want to come off as a show-off. I imagine that the decision will mostly based on whose ready to leave the house and not in the process of mods or faceups. Personally I would love to see as many as possible.

    2. for me, at a meeting, it does not bother me at all to make all my dolls, even if for the moment I do not have a BJD already heavy burden because it is a SD.
I like to admire the collection of other enthusiasts. I think that is the reason why the meetings are made

    3. i would gladly bring only one 1/6 size for the meet up, i don't even have a proper bag to carry anything larger than a yosd

    4. All the meets I've been to I brought the three that I had at the time (70cm, 65cm, and 16cm) and honestly, it was pretty cumbersome. This time around I'll probably only bring my DZ girl, as the rest are in face-up limbo since I haven't found my art supplies since I moved. D:

    5. I haven't been to a meetup yet but I will be going to one in January, weather permitting. I'm planning on taking my two 60cm guys with me since the members of my group have showed interest in seeing them.

I'd probably take a different doll or two with me to a second meet.

    6. I usually bring 2 since it gets heavy carrying them around, even if it's two MSDs. Dead weight is dead weight!

Unless someone asks to see a particular doll or I'm looking to buy items for a particular doll, I bring my two fave dolls more often than not.

    7. We sadly don't have meets in Greece since there very few of us around and are spread wide and far apart... bur I'd probably take one doll every time c:

    8. About three (2 70cm and a msd). Bringing 3 70cm is just too much. Though I am biased and bring favorites all the time. XD

    9. I only have my one girl right now so I'd bring her, but if I had more than one I'd feel bad about leaving one behind so I'd bring them all :sweat

    10. 2 or 3, but the 3rd one needs to be much smaller than the other 2.

    11. Zero or 1 or 2

    12. I want to get a girl soon! So one?

    13. I have yet to go to a meet, and I currently have two BJDs, a 1/3 and a 1/12. But if I had more and I were going to a meet I can actually picture myself bringing all my dolls. I might not take them all out, but I'd have them there in case I wanted to take them out. I think I'd just have too hard of a time choosing just one to bring

    14. I bring whoever is requested to be brought, usually. I try to limit it to 2 SD's and 3 MSD's (I don't own any Yo's/Tinies). Meets at conventions and such... I try to limit my resin companions to one SD or two MSDs since you have to carry them all over!

    15. I've only gone to one mini-meet so far... I brought all three of my girls. The meet is coming back up again, tomorrow. I'd like to only bring two, as three is a bit too much for me too manage as I always fuss with their clothing and wigs. But, my fiance is bringing both of his. My one girl would be the only one who didn't go! I'd feel so bad. If I had more girls that could stay home, I'd only bring two. But. Three it is, for now!

    16. one to four mostly. Depends on where it is.

    17. As many as I feel like keeping track of which can be any where from 2-6 dolls. It also depends on where the meet is and how many people are going to be there.

    18. How many dolls I take:

1-2: If it's a new meet with new people, I like to be able to keep my eye on all dolls until I trust the people. Also, if it is a public meet where I might need to walk a lot and carry the doll(s). Also, conventions. People get grabby, it's easier to carry and protect one or two.

3-5: A day long home meet with people I know and trust.

5+: And large overnight meet/party/vacation with closest bjd friends.

As to others, I say take whatever you are comfortable with. I love seeing all types of dolls, so if you are comfortable packing 20+ dolls, bring it on! I don't think of it as being a show off at all. We're all there to bond over dolls and see dolls we don't own, so why not? If having more than one at a meet is going to make you feel panicky and overwhelmed, it's perfectly fine to just take one.

I choose which doll to take based on where we are meeting. My punk rocker would be out of place at a pumpkin farm, but a coffee shop makes a great backdrop for my boho artist! I also have a large doll family, so I usually pick one I want to take, then ask the local group members if there are any requests to see others.
