How many people think of their Minis as adults instead of children?

Like many have already said, a lot of it has to do with a) the sculpt, and b) the styling. None of mine currently fit the bill but I wouldn't discount adding some mature minis to the household someday! Variety is truly the spice of life.

 

My mini is a young adult, she doesn't have a body that suit a girl or a teen. Also I will stylize her to be an adult

 

My minis drive me up a wall in this area. Face-wise, they look like older children to me. But body-wise...well the girls have a bit too much development to be anything but teens. I kind of wish I had gone with immature busts.

 

I see my MSD as adults, because of their bodies and face-up. For example, I have a Narae, her body and her face is clearly adult for me, and I can't see her as a teen! For MNF, mine are adults, I think their bodies are mature, but the face can be either adult or teen, it depends of the make-up

 

My minis are all young adults or teens. Mainly for practical reasons... I wanted the cast of my novel in doll form, and there are a lot of them. If they were all SDs I'd be out of space and money!

 

I think of my MNF Seorin (Dylan) as a young adult, but my dad thinks of him as a little kid xD
The really funny thing is that I can't stop myself from calling him "little boy" just because of his size.

I have Resinsoul Mei and Song on the way, and they're both supposed to be like 22+...but they're elves, so while they look 20-something they're probably actually much older.

My msd's are young adults. Not teens but not adults! However, I just tend to like more mature msd's. It all depends on the company and how old YOU make them!

 

I place mine firmly into the adult area so I don't feel bad making him wear slutty dresses. He is a bit child-like though.

 

I would love to get a YoSD or smaller because I find the size to be cute... but they all look like kids which is a huge turn off. I'm hopefully getting an MSD (Minifee!) today. I'm attracted to it and the RS/BBB MSDs the most because they don't look too young. I don't mind MSDs that look somewhat like kids because sometimes it can really go either way.

But yeah, I'd prefer to think of any size doll I get as a teenager or older.

 

Mine are 18-20. So technically adults.

I think they look like young adults. I guess some sculpts could look like children (the male sculpts in particular) but most look teen-young adult to me.

 

My MSDs are young adults but they are adults nonetheless. Although that is because the sculpts I have or are after are more adult then child. This is also because I don't plan on getting and SDs so MSDs are my main focus.

 

Mine are all adults, some younger than others, but all over 21. I have YoSDs for the children and I have tinies for their babies. I also never planned to get any SD though I may change that one day, depending. All the sculpts I have though, are adult in form and face. DZ. BBB and RS MSD all look like adults to me. That's one reason I like those companies, because their MSD are adult in appearance.

 

It depends on the mold and body. I can't see a MSD or Yo-SD size doll as an adult if they have a baby face and immature body unless the character is supposed to have an illness that doesn't make them age so I guess, I could consider a doll like that as an adult, however, I have no interest to give my dolls complicated backgrounds so i just stick to what the face/body looks like.

 

With something as stylized as dolls I think It's really up to the owner to decide. Real humans vary so much anyway. I had a friend who was pretty mature when it came to body development at the age of twelve and another who did not get the first hint of adult shapes until she was seventeen, so the whole idea that a certain bodytype = child/adult semes kind of silly to me. The only proportion you can really go by is the head-body ratio, but since dolls nearly always have disproportionatly large heads anyway that is only relevant for very realistic sculpts and even then real humas show quite a lot of variation from the "rules".

My minis are all in their upper teens or lower 20's.

 

I have a Resinsoul Li, and she's definitely not a teenager or child, but I'm not really set on an age for her. Nothing's set for her. She's just a model for the kimonos I sew, and I love her that way.

 

For my Mini she is a Angel of Dream Lan and I have her as an adult who is around 25 years old But I do agree it depends on the sculpt! as there are minis out there who look like children while some looks like adults but then again it depends on the owner ^^ as there are people who are adults who look like kids and kids who look likes adults

 

Mine are adults, though it seems kinda hard to find mini sized dolls that are more mature looking. My girls have big busts, and my boys athletic bodies, so they are more mature that way from the get go. I'm not into more child like dolls, so even my smaller are meant to be a bit older! My nobel doll raspberries couldn't be anything other than adults with that body shape!

 

In my universe, tinies are children, MSDs are adult-sized humans or young demons, and SDs are mature demons. That may change in the future as SDs are starting to grow on me and I may eventually reshell my main characters, but that's how it is right now.
My MSDs are 16, 21 and 180 (immortal, physically he's in his early twenties). My tinies are 5 and ageless (the anthro fox who is a forest sprite) and my SDs don't have a set age.

 

I currently really haven't any Mini, because I'm still waiting for the arrive of one (Dollmore Catish Reaa), and two are only in my wishlist (Fdoll Yolanda and Resinsoul Ming), but they all have adult-like proportion and have to shell adult character, so they will be adult for me. Well, I have to admit they can be also teenager if I wanted it... and that's confirm that is not only a matter of sculpt but depends on the owner too.
One more evidence: like XpHoBiaX, the characters I depicted in my only two tinies (Dikadoll Mian Mian and an off topic doll) are more fairy-like, ageless creatures that sometimes act in a childish way than actual children or cubs.

 

so far ive only one msd and she is pre teen. not grown up at all
