    1. Both the face and the body are very important when I decide that I like a doll.

While I looked for my first doll, I ended up liking Soulkid Katie because of her face. At a later point, I found another doll that I also liked, but didn't like the body nearly as much as the Soulkid Double-Joint body--the long thin legs on it are especially what I like about it. That said, I ended up really deciding to go with a Soulkid.

But, I really don't like bodies of the SD-sized Souldolls because of their knees which look really ugly IMO.

I used to dislike Volks because there weren't many face-sculps that I liked. However, the bodies of their dolls are beautiful and I'd consider buying a Volks doll simply because of that should I find a face that I like.

In the end, I really have to like both.

    2. Heads can be easier to match to different bodies, and they're so easy to customize, sometimes a good faceup is just what makes a doll for me if I don't like the facecap. That said body does mean a lot to me, if I don't like the way a body looks I would probably avoid getting the doll.

    3. I care about the face most. It's what makes my decision to buy a doll.

However, if I get a doll, and it has a body I *really* dislike, and I can't find a decent resin match, I will send the doll packing. Whats the point of a beautiful face if they have an ugly body you can't stand looking at?

    4. obviously the face is the most important when deciding upon a doll, because you wouldn't buy a doll that you thought had an ugly face :P but personally the body is almost as important to me. If I want an immature, childish girl and I can only find one I like that has an ENORMOUS bust, i'll buy the head and find a different body. also, my dolls have to have bendy swayed back legs. As a ballerina I just love legs like that :D (whoops that sounded leg-pervy :|)

    5. I'm about equal on both. But perhaps I am more likely to select a doll based on its body. There are many faces to love, and faces are easily swapped, modded or faceupped to achieve completely unique and different looks. Bodies are harder. Bodies are why I mainly dabble in 70 cm dolls... I really am not attracted to childlike bodies in this hobby. There are too many and all of them are so bland in sculpt as to make me berserk. I am very into realism when it comes to sculpture, and also into older character sculpts.

And lets not speak of the anatomical sins committed on the bodies of most companies' design. There is no good reason why my darling Idris (a gift) should have a ten pack. NONE. B&G, explain yourselves. Is it so hard for companies to hang up a google printout when sculpting? Seriously.

That is one of the main reasons I am sculpting my own line of dolls. I can control the quality of the sculpt and offer a proper adult body to a market largely devoid of both adult sculpts and attention to detail. Maybe I am fanatical, caring so much about something covered by clothing, which I dont necessarily even look at every day.... but I guess its the principle of good design and quality artwork that makes up such a large part of my interest in these dolls.

    6. I'd say it's faaaairly even, but I guess I care about the face a tad more. If you get a doll with a body that's not quite what you hoped, you can always cover it up with clothes. But if the face sculpt is unsatisfactory, you just have to hope you can distract from the less appealing features with a good faceup. :/
Also, I find myself falling in love with doll faces, not doll bodies. So at least initially, that's what I'm drawn to.
It IS a big priority for me to have dolls that pose well, though, and the head has very little to do with that. XD
      [edit]
Also, I've only fallen in love with(like OMG MUST HAVE) one body, as opposed to several head molds I've spazzed out over.
The body I likes so much was the Iplehouse EID body, but I know that I can't own a doll that big. It just wouldn't match with me or the rest of my collection. But luckily Ryan has the same kind of body, and he's a mini boy, and he has a beautiful face AND body... so I'm totally psyched about getting him.
...Geez, these says I feel like I do nothing but spaz out about Iplehouse Ryan. XD

    7. It depends upon the character an what I want for them. For the doll I have now, one of the only things I really wanted was a small busted body, that was most important for her body-wise.

    8. I thought the body sculpt didn't matter as much to me right up until I insisted on getting a MNF with small bust and active body and later decided I didn't want Glati or Gloti.

    9. The face is the first impression and makes me want to look closer att the doll. But if the body isn't good enough there will not be love. ^^;
But the face is slightly more important :P

    10. Exactly the same to me! I fell in love with the face of Dollzone Ani, but her body, esp. the hands - no. And I really like the face of Cherishdoll Faith Dante, but IMO her arms are too long,,,

    11. Hmmm.....this was a hard question! Although I care about the face the most because you can buy a different body.........IMO DOD DOT and DOI bodies are the best 60cm-70cm sculpts and I adore the faces! And I love Mecha Angels faces but I don't like the bodies which is why I am not intersted in them....

    12. Face is really important but body is just as much if not more. When I see a beautiful face mold and fall in love I have to look at the body.If there is something I think is wonky about the body (usually knees, I'm picky and weird about knees lol) I'll pass it by. I think that's probably why I haven't committed to a doll and bought one yet :/ Thankfully it's fairly easy to find a good color match and just hybrid it.

    13. I really care a lot more for the face sculpts, myself. Faces are what define the doll for me, give them their personality. The body... well, it's going to be covered up with clothes anyway, so as long as the body looks nice enough and poses decently, it's fine. :sweat

    14. It's both for me. Since I'm only going to have a few dolls I want them to have a lovely face and a body that poses well and looks nice.

    15. It is definitely a 'whole package' thing for me. I can easily be swayed by a beautiful face sculpt but if the body is not equally beautiful - well proportioned, nicely detailed with appealing and effective joints - I will probably not buy the doll.

    16. I care about the face more, but the body, as many said, is still important. The one thing that I watch out for in bodies is the thinness of the limbs- girl or guy, I don't want them to be really thin! I'm also really liking double jointed bodies, so I'm looking out for those.

    17. I'd say that head sculpt is most important, but I won't buy a body I don't like again.

I bought two BBB Sprites. I like the head a lot, but dislike the body. I don't regret buying the girls because at their price, I was willing to compromise on quality. With a more expensive doll, though, they have to be PERFECT, body and head!

    18. Both of them are important to me, and also the quanlity.

    19. I tend to look at the face first, then the body. The body is still important, but it isn't what I think people look at first. At least I don't. If I love the face but not the body, I lose interest in the doll. How the head sits on the neck, the overall proportions, and the posture need to look right to me. This is exactly how I chose DoT Shall for my new doll. I love everything about her. At first I was only going to do a face up, but since she's got such a beautiful body I just couldn't resist blushing the rest of her.

    20. The face is the most important aspect of the doll, if the body isn't completely like you wanted, you can always buy a matching one from another line or mod it, worst case scenario, you can cover it up with gorgeous clothes, but the look of the body wouldn't matter to me that much anyway...
