    1. The face always comes first for me, but then i try and find some pictures of the body. Some dolls i find are pretty but then when i see the body it looks....funny? XD some body sculpts ive seen make the doll look anirexic, like, the ribs are showing too much or something (im mostly talking about boys, since ive never actually shopped for a girl ^^;; ) but if the face is pretty enough, i can deal with a funny looking body |D

    2. I have to scope each out; as long as the body doesn't look wonky or disproportionate to me, it's a-ok in my book. I do admit to looking at the face and agonizing over that more so than the body. But I've seen some bodies that made me cringe, and some that are gorgeous.

It's the overall presentation that draws me in; I'm picky with my dolls. I have to -really- want it in order to save and get it.

    3. I care about the face more, but some of the bodies have turned me off enough that I did not want to buy a doll. Abio Angel Dolls have gorgeous face sculpts but their bodies are really weird and thin and their hands omg... I totally hate their hands >.> enough that I don't want one of their dolls til they change their weird spider hands. From some angles they do not even look like hands O_o; Angel of Dream had same problem in the past but their new hands are lovely. Neck is still really long which is ugly but not enough to keep me from wanting several of their dolls.

Of course it's nice to have both a nice face and body sculpt. I really want to get a dollmore model doll and/or DOD dream of idol someday, they have the prettiest body sculpts.

    4. I find the body and the face equally imprtant.

    5. The body sculpt do matter to me as well. I have not yet bought a BJD but when looking at them and trying to decide, it doesn't really matter if I find their face beautiful if I don't like their body proportions. So to me, definietly body sculpt do matter(not sure if it matters more than the face though... I answered that they mattered equally much!)

    6. I look at the face first and then the body, but the body is important.

    7. For me the body is extremely important, not only for it's look but also how posable it is.

However the face is also very important because I'm rather picky since I have characters in mind when I go searching for a doll. If the face is /close/ enough I might be able to get it modded and a faceup if the body is really nice and the head matches fairly well.

Having said that, I want a soom solely for the body. |D

    8. First I look at the face to see if the mold appeals to me, then I check out the body. If the body doesn't work for me then I usually move on. I can get really picky about my bodies, and about my dolls in general. If I am really in love with the face of the mold, then I like to do more research and see what hybrids work and if it is worth the trouble to consider buying the doll/head/whatever.
And usually it isn't just the way the body looks either- there are certain things I look for in the posing ability, especially when I am looking for a certain type of personality. For example, I don't like bodies that always have straight backs. My dollmore kid boy has an excellent slouch that I absolutely love. And there are a few other things I look for.
I guess in the end, bodies are a huge deciding factor for me, even if I really love the face.

    9. I have two Elfdoll Soahs and a Limwha half-elf. I prefer the head sculpts my Rainman, but the body of the Limwha is to me much more attractive. The half-elf is more realistic and not so thick as the Elfdolls.

    10. I'd say I care about it alot..

I'm not one for unattractive bodies.
      or Overly muscular.

Before I got my Senior Delf, I LOVED the Body, but it just looks weird with my Cian's sweet face. D:

    11. i care about the doll as a whole, everything is important to me, so i voted "i care about both equally".

    12. To me the body can be a deal breaker. I like mature bodies more than kid like bodies (I only own MSD's:sweat) Sometimes I can really like the face but if they have a childish body or chubby hands I probably wont get them. Posability isn't even as important to me. Like with DZ's new double jointed bodies I don't really like how they look so I wont get them for my kids even though they'd pose better.

    13. I think the more the hooby goes on there is a lot more choice. I'd say the body is just as important as the face now where as years ago I was all about the face first.

    14. To me, a wonderful face with a bad body is as disturbing as a bad face with a gorgeous body. I want a nice body when I play with them and dresses them up ^^ So face and body are just as important for me :)

    15. I care about the sculpt of the face more because to me the face (head sculpt) in conjunction with the eyes sets the ton for the personality of the doll. The body is important to me but not as much as the head sculpt.

    16. I start out looking for a face sculpt that i like but if there's any thing i don't like about the body sculpt or vice versa i usually pass the sculpt up. it makes it really hard finding that right doll.

    17. Previously I didn't care about the body at all. "They're clothed anyway", I used to think and so I have three quite, well, not-so-pretty or not-so-posing bodies I ended up having because their lovely faces. My senior delf girl's body is amazing, I still think it's the most beautiful of all SD-sized girls'. But my Dolkot girl and Angell Studio boy really aren't that pretty and Bluefairies definitely could pose better.

DK has huge feet, flipper-like hands, ugly knee-joints - not nice, because she likes to wear skirts - and giant boobs. AS is plain, single-jointed and his hands - just like the rest of the body, but hand especially - aren't that detailed.

About posing, I've really come to dislike single joints. If (I'm hoping so) Bluefairy is making a double-jointed body, I'll really consider getting one. I'll also like to get a double-jointed one for my AS boy but since he is white skin and a bit yellowed (prettier now after yellowing a bit that when paperwhite) the new body would be different colour.

On the other hand, my friends have two Iple model boy bodies and a Souldoll double boy and I just love those. After looking at them - Souldoll is actually sitting naked on my bedside table after I blushed him - I really want a beautiful male body. My next doll is going to be SDF Abadon with type 2 body but at least before seeing him in live I don't like the SDF male body as much as the female.

      My point: Face is more important, it's the doll's soul. But from now on, more attention to the body too! One day I'll have either Iple YID model body, SSDF male body or Angell Studio 70cm male body. Or maybe all of them ^^;

    18. I'm very particular about bodies. So far, I only have female dolls, and this is partially because I can't find a male body I don't nitpick into oblivion. I love the EID body, but the faces that go with it are too young for me-- if there were a face that looked a bit older that I could get with that, I'd be set.

As for girls, I always really check on a few things. Firstly, boobs must look like they are in a natural position on the body. No floatation devices, super-smooshed boobs, or boobs that sit in weird places on the torso. Secondly, the ribs can not be super-prominent-- I just do not find that attractive. If they have a bit of a belly, that's even better. Through that process of elimination, I've ended up with an Iplehouse YID girl and a Dreaming Doll body.

So yes, the body type is extremely important to me, almost moreso than the face. I figure I could always make a hybrid if a particular company's face molds don't appeal to me.

    19. Well when I chose to make a hybrid. Which I still in process of.
I absolutely must had the Soom BW Gena head. Why? Sculpt is incredibly beautiful IMO! :3
And so I bought it. But for the body, I thought about two things:
      1. MUST have realistic feature, such as abs...or atleast a belly button.
      2. POSEEEEE

Although I not base on price, I MUST have good pose and good body sculpt or I freak out. And so Im go to purchase a AOD body. Bonus? Cheap too! ^-^
But body sculpt not as important as face sculpt! Since I once considered a Tobias Body D:

    20. Haha, body is an important consideration. :) I'm still hunting out size and physique-appropriate bodies for my three Minimees, because I want them to be in "proportion" to one another, although the exact dimensions have some wiggle room ;) Similarly, I spent some time hunting out an appropriate body/face combo for my next boy because it would look strange to me if he didn't fit into the guidelines. Though I will admit I'm willing to sacrifice body in favor of face if need be.
