1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. 1. At first, or rather when I first started collecting BJDs, I didn’t care too much about body sculpt. I figured it would be covered with clothing, so who cares. However, now that I have a few dolls, body sculpt is much more important to me now. I wouldn’t even consider buying a full doll that has a face I love but a body I dislike. I would rather wait and try to find the head somewhere else (like on the marketplace here on DoA) and try to find a better body with matching resin.

    2. It counts to a certain extent, but I don't consider it to be the main factor.

    3. Ideally, a balance of both the body and the facial sculpts would be nice. I care about both pretty equally.

    4. I normally look at the face first but a badly designed body can put me off :sweat

I think the only occasion I've ever been more interested with the body rather than the head was when I first saw the Dollmore model girl with the larger bust. I had been looking for a large chested girl for a while but none I had seen looked right to me. I do love that body but doubt I'll ever be able to get one since it's a limited :(

    5. I care about the face sculpt a little more, but I also care about the body. And it depends on the character I'm going for-- if I was looking for a doll whose character was a little more *ahem* daring in fashion choices, the body would become a heck of a lot more important than for a character who liked to keep covered up.

      =^__^=

    6. I do care much more about the face sculpt usually, unless the said doll is female, in which case I do give quite a weight on the body sculpt as well as the face. I have an extreme loathing for two part female bodies because to me they just look extremely unrealistic and the posing on them is bleh. I don't mind two part males for the most part, but two part females are a no

    7. I'm head first(in more ways that one) although I don't think I'd be comfortable with the idea of getting a doll if I disliked the body outright... That noted, I would be willing to get them even if it meant I might replace the body at a later date to better suit my image of them, although I'm currently unsure of that, as I've actually yet to replace a doll's body with a different one.

Still, I am rather sentimental at times, so I dunno how it might actually work out when I reach that crossroad~ It's all guesses at this point, but that's the stance I've arrived at up to this point in my BJD related career~

    8. I care about both. But head first before body. My boy's body is something I kind of dislike at the moment...but I bought as a whole doll... @_@ He's too muscular~ Doesn't match his cute and sweet face~>w<

    9. For me is equally, I care about the face for the first and body is the second but, both of them have to looking good for me. They are all important thing because I need the match with the head and the body and also posability too.

If the default body isn't that good, may be leg are so small, arm so thin, or body is so thin, so short or too tall, I will change to another one that is better and good enough for the heads I have.

So I'm care both face and body. :)

    10. I feel like bodies end up being totally optional for me- I fall in love with faces far before the body even occurs to me :)

I feel like the bodies are more versatile and I can work with them and replace them and change them so easily, but a face I love is hard to come by.

    11. The face is the first thing I look at, but the longer I'm in the hobby the more I care about the body too. There are som gorgeous dolls that I'd love to buy, but I won't because I really don't like their bodies. I could always buy another body but finding the right match in size and colour is so hard! *_*

(Also I'm a major wuss when it comes to customization, so if a certain hybrid needs a lot of work I'll wuss out and instead put that doll out of my mind).

    12. i'M SO PICKY. for example, i really like the girly legs of limhwa mano but his face is ugly (no offence to those who like it) but his abs are the nicest i've seen.. however, his shoulders arent as godly as SOOM's. and nobody prolly even noticed what about the shoulders i was talking about. >_>

    13. When you buy your doll, how important is the dolls body?
      Well, :sweat
I haven't actually bought my doll yet as I am currently saving, but body sculpt means ALOT to me. I had a hard time finding a doll that had a gorgeous body and face. :/
I love mature MSD's so I was searching for one for a long time but I could never find one that fully took my breath away. UNTIL I saw MNF miyu for the first time. I am in LOVE with the MNF Active Line body. The breasts are full but real looking, the legs are curved and gorgeous, and her face, Oh goodness her face is to DIE for. : DDD

Would you buy a doll if you loved the face but didn't like the body?
Ummm, chances are no. I love mature bodies so I refuse to buy any MSD without a mature body. ;_; Horrible of me I know. I'm only picky about MSD and SD bodies but anything smaller then that its not really a big deal to me. : )

Would you perhaps buy a less beautiful head because it came with a close to perfect body?
No, I wouldn't do that either. Like I said, I am extremely picky in choosing my doll. If I don't like on aspect of a doll then I give up on the good parts of it and keep searching. I don't really plan on doing hybrids either unless the face mold calls to me.:aheartbea

    14. I care more about the face than the body...if it's a body I don't like I would just buy the head and then find another body for it. Hahahaha.

    15. I originally voted a long time ago that face sculpt mattered a lot more but now I think I'm leaning towards a more equal importance point of view. Part of this came because I realized how much I love all the wonderful subtle sculpting and anatomical details on my SD10s, but how I also love variety in body shape to help give a doll its own personality. As well, it's important to me that the body and the head go together aesthetically.

So yeah, face sculpt will usually be what grabs me, but it's the whole package that sells me. :)

    16. I'm definitely a face person. As far as I'm concerned, the body can be covered up with clothes, but it's the faces I fall in love with (in certain cases, it's also the certain default face-ups. If I love the face, I can deal with the fact that the body might not be exactly what I'm looking for. On the other hand, in other cases, I've fallen in love with the body along with the face, so I would definitely have to say that they both matter to me in some way.

    17. i care on both equally. If the body likes me less then mold -face i simply do not buy the entire doll.

    18. Face. I've purchased cheap temporary bodies for my dolls, and they are definitely not as finely sculpted as the bodies that I really want. But right now I feel it's more important to have them on bodies, period. If I cared about bodies more, I would've saved up for the body I prefer but at the moment upgrading the body actually falls behind clothing, eyes, and my next planned doll.

    19. Mostly I fall in love with the face-sculpt. Body IS important to me, but it's kind of an after thought. For example, I've fallen in love with a suntan Asha to be my Gael, but her chest is too small for her character, who is an adult, and I'm going to have to mod her to match Sanyu (who is a much more mature MNF body).

    20. I'd buy a doll with a body TYPE I didn't like that much, such as overly thin, or a girl with a flat chest as long as it was sculpted well and I liked the face. I wouldn't buy a doll that was poorly sculpted or designed, even if it had the perfect head.
