Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. 1. Personally, the body doesn't matter too much to me except for one doll because he will have a tattoo on his chest and stitches on his arms. I think what I mean is, if the doll would have to spend time with no clothes to show off the rest of the character, the body would matter. Otherwise, it's mostly covered with clothes anyway.

    2. For myself, I could care less about the body looks like as I keep my dolls fairly clothed at all times. xD Of course, if the body is a disproportionate ugly mass, I'd consider a hybrid... but the faces are what attracts me to these dolls, so what the body looks like is really just an afterthought to me. ^^

    3. I am really picky with bodies because even though they are covered with clothing most of the time, when summer comes maybe I will want to do a photoshoot of my doll in bathing suit or something like that! then my adorable little boy would show a 6 pack??? ew no xD also, I wouldn't want him to have veiny hands...
I am even more picky for girl bodies because I know if I get a girl she will have quiet a lot of sexy/lingerie shot taken! and maaaaan am I picky when it comes to female bodies xD I want them to be 110% perfect!

    4. I can live with bodiless doll heads ._.
I mean.... as it is I have 3 SD heads sharing one body. Before this it was 5 SD heads sharing one body. They take turns sometimes and it's like a sleep over lololol xD

      but yes. Body.....is only like an accessory for me so as long as they can stand and sit and of decent height I don't really mind >3>;;

    5. Interesting question/poll.

I enjoy a lovely body that poses well and has beautiful, expressive hands, but I only fall in love with a doll's face--not just the sculpt, but also a great faceup that does the sculpt justice. I'm quite happy having the head sit around on an inexpensive old mismatched body (or in a drawer) until I can afford to buy what I think would look best with the head.

    6. For me, I care about the face more. If I really hate the default body, I will still purchase the fullset of doll (if no choice) and change the body later on.

There're so many doll companies now so I think it is so easy to buy an alternative body for change. :)

    7. The first thing I notice about a doll is the face. And, since the body is mostly covered up by clothes, it wouldn't bother me if the body sculpt isn't exactly what I would want. Therefore, I would say that I care about the face more. Good thing we can buy them separately! :)

    8. I usually go for the face first, because the face sculpt is the first thing I see. But the body is important, too. I like pretty bodies like Luts or Fairyland. I'm not TOO picky, but some companies the bodies just aren't that pleasing. Their bodies are too blocky and clumsy looking, so no matter how much I like the face, I'll probably never buy a doll from that company unless I can find another body to go with it.

The way I see it, if I'm going to pay good money for these works of art, I want them to actually LOOK like works of art.

    9. To be compltely honest, I feel that nearly 90% of the time the body will be covered by clothing wilst the face is always showing. In my opinion face trumps body

    10. Face first ^^ But i still care about the body a lot. Most of my dolls are going to be hybrids becasue I don't like the body their company makes and I also take into account if the dolls character should be short, taller, muscular or slim.

I have a Migidoll body that I don't really like the posing on, but I'm keeping my boy on it because it's the perfect in between for thin and muscular and it's a great height. The body os so pretty to look at despite the irritating joints.

    11. I find that when I'm browsing through dolls, it's the face that grabs my attention first of course, but the body has to fit the design of the face. Each face gives a personality to start with, and I look for a body to accentuate it. I have certain preferences with bodies in general (well developed breasts, detailed hips and whatnot) but I won't have that be the deciding factor in my doll choices. Every body's different! :3 And that's how I like it. :) I've gotten interested in just buying heads recently though, figured maybe I can find better body sculpts elsewhere if they really don't appeal to me. -nodnod-

    12. The face is the most important part, but I look at bodies too. I like to have a body that fits the character. For an adult male I want an adult-looking body. My character is a warrior, but not a superhero type, so I have been looking for a body that is neither boyish nor overly muscular. It's true that you will always see the doll dressed, but, you know, the clothes are on the body after all and things like how broad (or not) the shoulders are will show.

Apart from the overall shape of the body, I also look at its joints and posability. I want a torso joint, and one that fits nicely. Other things I care a great deal about are the parts of the body that will normally be visible - I want my dolls to have beautiful hands and a beautifully sculpted neck (muscles and clavicules).

When I first started looking at bjds, I didn't think I would care much about the bodies, but now I find that I do...

    13. Both are definitely important to me!! The face may be what initially draws me in but its got to have a good body to. I make most of my dolls cloths and almost all of my dolls furniture so possibilities a must. Plus there are parts of the dolls body that I just Love. For instance, my luts Delf Soony: I Love her hands. Ever knuckle and slim finger so well defined. Even just the wrinkles on her palm and the shape of her finger nails. I find them absolutely beautiful. And my kid Delf Maska: it's all about his elbows and shoulders! The curve of his neck. And my Delf Lu-Wen: on him, and this may sound weird, I love his ribs. The fact that he even Has ribs. I'm just done for everytime I see him without a shirt.

And ofcourse the face is very important. For me it's like that almost decides what you dolls personality is like. The angle of their eyes, the set of the mouth. It all can be so very expressive. So sweet to "I'm soo better than you". I love it.

So face is very important to me as is the body.

    14. Wow I must have answered this when I was on the 3rd doll! Times have changed and so have moulds and joints. Now I would say both are important, with have such a wide range it's possible to have it all.

    15. I love strange bodies, that's part of why I fell in love with DC Bella ^^

    16. I'd have to say that I love both pretty equally. I mean, you can't have a character with a head but without a body, and vise-versa! If it came down to it though and I had no choice, I'd have to go with getting the doll with the perfect face and not so perfect body.

    17. I don't usually decide on a yes or a no just by the body, usually I choose by the face. However, if the sculpt of the body isn't very nice, I would rather have a different body. I'm a bit picky about bodies.

    18. Im not really choosy about a doll's body.. I'm more choosy when it comes to the face.. =D

    19. I ended up buying my first doll based more on the body than the face. I was originally going to be getting a JID girl but the minifee body is wonderful and it poses so well I couldn't say no to it. I'm glad I decided to switch, too, as finding clothing is just so much easier now and it's a much more common size so if I decide to sell some of the clothing I make, it should be appealing to a wider audience as well.

    20. I absolutely want it all! I want a body I find esthetically pleasing, a face I love, and good jointing system/posing ability! Though I do care more about the look of the body then the posing, but I am pretty equal about body and face. There are some doll faces I have really liked, but hated the body so I shy away from even looking at them anymore for fear I might need them. :P
