    1. FanTom that makes a lot of sense...I don't think I would like a child's face on a more mature body...that is just sort of wrong. But that still doesn't change my opinion. The body does count but I think the face it what matters most.

    2. Good questions! ^_^

When you buy your doll, how important is the dolls body?
Well ... I don't plan on having naked dolls -- not because I dislike the idea of a naked doll, I just REALLY like tiny doll clothes, haha! They're so cute ^_^ So dolls of mine would mainly be clothed ...

I suppose that means the aesthetic of the body wouldn't matter so much to me? But if I think about it, it does ... I'm not desperate for any doll I own to be able to pose like a contortionist, so its poseability isn't a massive issue (as long as it can sit down and do basic stuff! And one can always wire and suede the crap out of a doll to help it do stuff), but I really love little details, like beautifully sculpted knees, attention to the neck areas (things like collar bones) or well-sculpted hands (those Dollshe hands! Omg!), and hands are almost always on show ... so nice hands I think are a real winner for me! I think those little things count for a lot.

Would you buy a doll if you loved the face but didn't like the body?
Yes. Faces win over bodies for me, in the end. It's what I stare at the most. And there is always the option of a hybrid doll.

Would you perhaps buy a less beautiful head because it came with a close to perfect body?
      No.

On that line, I find it interesting that some doll sites don't even show the bodies of the doll you could buy from them. Quite a risk ^_^ But I guess those companies' attitudes is that you as a buyer should focus on the head-mold?

    3. When you buy your doll, how important is the dolls body?
It depends. Sometimes I have requirements, like for my Minimee heads their bodies have to be 67cm+, with good muscle definition but not too bulky, and preferably a one-piece torso because they both need full back tattoos. xD But other times, I don't really care if I'm ordering a full doll (as in body and head at the same time.) It's only when I have floating heads around that I tend to get a little more 'obsessed' in finding the right one. :sweat

Would you buy a doll if you loved the face but didn't like the body?
Yes, but only if the head was not avaliable for sale separately. :) Otherwise I'd just get that. If it really had to come with a body, I would probably sell it and then and use the money towards finding another, because chances are there will be one out there from a different company . . . somewhere . . .

Would you perhaps buy a less beautiful head because it came with a close to perfect body?
If I had a floating head that wanted that body, yes. But not for the sake of having a doll with a face that didn't appeal to be- that would be silly. :) I would either sell it or use it for faceup practise or something.

    4. {laugh!} Now there's a phrase that isn't used often.

      Teddy

    5. When you buy your doll, how important is the dolls body?
Quite important. I really dislike posing dolls who have the joint on the hip instead of the upper torso. So i avoid those bodies.

Would you buy a doll if you loved the face but didn't like the body?
No i'd just buy the head and then buy a matching body.

Would you perhaps buy a less beautiful head because it came with a close to perfect body?
ONLY if the body wasn't avaliable seperately.

    6. Very very interesting question! Especially because I find the body extremely important too. Especially the hands. Some hands are just horrible! That can really turn me off a complete body.

When you buy your doll, how important is the dolls body?

Very! Especially the hands, and second the mobility. I mean, the most perfect body IMHO is the Senior Delf boy body... but he can't even reach up to his own elbows. *_* When they brought them out, I just couldn't understand why they didn't put in the double joints they put in their type3 bodies or new Kid Delfs.

Would you buy a doll if you loved the face but didn't like the body?

ONLY if the head couldn't be bought separately. Otherwise I'd buy the doll, buy a body I do like, sell the original body and make one big happy hybrid (given the colors match and all)

Would you perhaps buy a less beautiful head because it came with a close to perfect body?

      Never!
The body can be clothed to conceal, but the head is always visible.
I'd do the swap like in above question.

    7. When you buy your doll, how important is the dolls body?

At first, I was going to say that the body is quite important because it'll need to be good for posing and match the age of the head, but now that I think about it, both the head and body are both important, not just the body itself. The body will be clothes most of the time anyways, so what matters most to me is the proportions of body to the head.

Would you buy a doll if you loved the face but didn't like the body?

No, I'd rather buy the head instead and make it a hybrid. but it depends on the proportions..if the head looks good with the body when it's clothed then I might.

Would you perhaps buy a less beautiful head because it came with a close to perfect body?

Only if I had plans to use that body for another head! But no, I probably wouldn't because I wouldn't be staring at a naked body most of the time. I'd be staring at the face and that's how I bond with my dolls, by looking at their faces, not their bodies, so no probably not.

    8. It's really interesting to read what everybody has to say. It's true that most dolls wear clothes (if not all?) but to me a doll with a body I absolutely disliked wouldn't be possible.
I keep hearing about hybrids, to be honest though my question wasn't asked with hybrids in mind since I never really considered them :doh.

    9. When you buy your doll, how important is the dolls body?

I won't keep doll bodies that I do not like because the aesthetics of the body are very important to me. My dolls spend a lot of time naked and I don't want an ugly body for any of them. I hate the lower hip joints on male bodies instead of the middle waist joint and I hate veiny man hands so none of my dolls have bodies that have them. Posability isn't as big a factor for me as the way the body looks, I actually don't like the way most double joint systems look. All I want my dolls to be able to do is sit and stand solidly on their own, so I don't need extra joints.

Would you buy a doll if you loved the face but didn't like the body?

I'd buy the head seperately if I could and if not, buy the doll, keep the head, and sell the body and find it a body I do like.

Would you perhaps buy a less beautiful head because it came with a close to perfect body?

If there was some body out there that made me ping every time I saw it but came with an unattractive head? I'd sell the head and find one I did like for the body.

    10. i'd definitely buy a body if the body was perfect for what i was looking for but the head wasn't, because i could always sell the head on and buy the body a face that was perfect for me.

that's what i love about BJDs.

    11. When you buy your doll, how important is the dolls body?
The head (Face specifically) is the important thing to my. For example my doll Davey(a girl, her name is short for Dalilah), is a B&G Sharon. Which is a boy body, but the face just said girl to me. I eventually plan to get a doll that looks like a boy but has an option body so I can get it as a girl and switch bodies, or just buy a new girl body and sell Davey's current body.

Would you buy a doll if you loved the face but didn't like the body?
Yes, I kinda answered this question along with the last one. :sweat

Would you perhaps buy a less beautiful head because it came with a close to perfect body?
Not unless I was going to use the head for face up practice or I could sell it.

    12. You know, I started to answer your questions and as I did, I realized that some things do matter:)

When you buy your doll, how important is the dolls body?

Most of the bodies are the same to me, so I would say that the body isn't that important. That said, though, I really do not like the super skinny bodies that some of the SD dolls have. I like having some definition and don't like to see ribs. I like my males to look like males and again, I don't want to see super skinny, no-muscles, anorexic-looking dolls. Also, the body has to pose well. I know some people don't like the double joints on dolls, but for me, the better poseability more than makes up for the exposed joints.

Would you buy a doll if you loved the face but didn't like the body?

Again, as long as the body wasn't the super skinny type, I would still purchase the doll.

Would you perhaps buy a less beautiful head because it came with a close to perfect body?

Absolutely not. It is the face sculpt that draws me in. If I don't love to look at the face, it isn't coming to live here. I buy dolls that make me smile when I look at them and since they are usually dressed, the face is what I see when I look at them.

    13. Would you buy a doll if you loved the face but didn't like the body?

      id buy them seperately

Would you perhaps buy a less beautiful head because it came with a close to perfect body?

      yep, im sure i would

    14. When you buy your doll, how important is the dolls body?
I always want my dolls with beautiful and, if it´s possible, nice poseable bodies, and more important: I need to find the correct body for the doll that I plan to have, even if it has to be a hybrid doll.

Would you buy a doll if you loved the face but didn't like the body?
Only if the face likes me SO much and it can´t be purchased separately, I´d consider to buy it, but once I get the doll I will sell the body and buy another one that I like.

Would you perhaps buy a less beautiful head because it came with a close to perfect body?
If I need that body for another head, the same answer of above. ;)

    15. When you buy your doll, how important is the dolls body?

Pretty damned important. I won't buy a doll if it comes with a body I dislike unless I can get the head separately and easily get a body that's a good match for it. Part of the reason I decided to get a Kid Delf Aru is because the Kid Delf body is both posable and well-sculpted.

Would you buy a doll if you loved the face but didn't like the body?

Nope. There are dolls I won't consider because I dislike the body, either because I feel that it lacks posability or because I find it unattractive. I'm planning to get another mini girl at the end of this year and I ruled out several dolls because I didn't care for the bodies and either there wasn't a body I liked that was a good match, or it would be too difficult/expensive to acquire one.

Would you perhaps buy a less beautiful head because it came with a close to perfect body?

Sort of. There are a lot of doll heads that I think are lovely but don't feel compelled to own. I think the Unoa faces are nice, for instance, but didn't particularly feel the need to buy one... but the Unoa BODY is so nice that I wanted one desperately, which is why I have a Sist now. I would not, however, buy a head I didn't care for just because the body was nice.

    16. When you buy your doll, how important is the dolls body?
It`s important, but not that much, especially when I really like doll. And I can change her character a bit for that body. Though I don`t like too childish body.
Would you buy a doll if you loved the face but didn't like the body?
Yes, but I would try to find head separately at first. And I always can sell body that I don`t like and get new one!;)
Would you perhaps buy a less beautiful head because it came with a close to perfect body?
Yes, head I can sell too or put on other body if I like head.

    17. Bodies do matter a lot.. many dolls ive been interested in have beautiful sculpts, but horrible bodies.. and some of them you cant even get other bodies with! So yes, it does matter. Posing my dolls is a lot what makes them feel like real people, and if they're stiff and cant stand up well or make very many movements, I wont be able to connect with them as well.

But if I really love a head and hate the body, I'll just buy the head on its own. <3 No big deal.

    18. I guess in the end it sort of depends on what you're looking for. If you want a nice head then that is what you get...sell the body if it doesn't interest you. And vice versa. It all depends on the person. A lot of you don't seem to mind having to get a new head or a new body if there is something you don't agree with so there are the ups and downs of both. :)

    19. When you buy your doll, how important is the dolls body?

I have an image in my head of how I want my doll to look and the body is important to me, being an integral part of the doll.

Would you buy a doll if you loved the face but didn't like the body?

I've done it several times, if I was unable to buy the head by itself. I sold the body and bought one I like better.

Would you perhaps buy a less beautiful head because it came with a close to perfect body?

I would try first to buy the body by itself, but if it's the only way to get the body I want, I would buy it and replace the head.

    20. When you buy your doll, how important is the dolls body?
      I think it's pretty important.
If it's really ugly or can't pose as well as I would like it to, then I probably wouldn't even get the entire doll. I would think about just getting the head, if I really liked it that much, and finding a better body for them.

Would you buy a doll if you loved the face but didn't like the body?
Nope, like I just said, I would just try to find the head and then try to find a new body for it. But that's just if I absolutely fell in love with the face. If I didn't, I would probably just say no to the doll and move along.

Would you perhaps buy a less beautiful head because it came with a close to perfect body?
      No. I'm very picky.
I would rather wait and look around for the perfect combination of a head and body to buy rather than just compromise because of a nice body. (Especially because people that I've heard of who compromise usually end up upset with the dolls they bought.)
