    1. I'm always firstly attracted to the face, but after that I start some research and I will say that yes, the body sculpt is pretty important to me as well. Because I choose the face sculpts to match specific characters in mind, so must their bodies also match the character that they represent. If the face is absolutely perfect and the body is not however, well, that's the beauty of hybriding as in the case of my Lati Rei boy and my DoD H. Kirill, or I'll modify, such as with my H. Ivan.

I'm not the type who'd buy a doll with a face I only partially cared for just for a body I adored, but I would buy a doll with a face I loved with only a so-so body sculpt. Mostly because, like I said, for me I choose the sculpt for specific characters, and it's easier to find a replacement/mod a body than it is find a head for an existing body. At least for me anyway x3

    2. For me, I have to love both the face and the body sculpt or else I wont even consider puting it on my wishlist. But I tend to look more at the face sculpt because that is usually the first thing I see when looking at pictures. That's the case mostly for male sculpts. For females, I have yet to see a curvasious girl with big curvy hips. I like my girls to actually have a hip instead of a bump where the hips are. Of course the only doll that comes to mind with even a slightest hip curve is DOD's Delphine.

    3. Take a look at Unoss body she has fantastic hips.

For me body is very important it has to be the whole doll as a whole that I like. But the exception is the yo-sd size. I have kanon and actually don't like the yo-sd body much but once dresses it goes out of my mind. Also right now considering another yo sized doll from a different company and I don't think I like the body much but I fell in love with the face so much so I will probly do the same and dress the doll and forget the body.

With MSD and SD size though I couldn't do that its of equal importance. Though its more a preference for balance and age then it is posing ability. The body has to be beautiful as well as the hands and even the feet nice and detailed.

    4. I care the face the most, but the body matter too. I prefer bodies which carefully sculptured and have triplejoints. Those things are not requisites, but they would be pluses to buy a doll. I won't buy a body which looks cheap or have anatomical errors. Some bodies looks too thins for me too.

    5. For me its a pretty big deal, I personally don't like the anorectic type, or males with huge upper bodies!
      O.O
But the face is defiantly more important.

    6. I find that the body is quite important to building the character and personality of the doll. I mean, would a burly tough guy hve chicken legs? It does bother me a bit how long Souldoll boys' legs are, but I figure it isn't THAT bad. Bodies can be modded minorly after all, seeing as it is just as easy to sand down a few ripples here and there as it is to sand the seams away. If the body for the boy I wanted was extremely chunky, then I would probably find myself searching for a slighter frame that would fit the head I wanted.

    7. The body sculpt is very important to me, but it wouldn't stop me from buying the doll. I'd just get a new body.

    8. For me, it's a bit of both. :) I have to love the face to like the doll but the body is important because that influences the kinds of clothes that can be worn and how it will look. Like my Unoa has one of the most beautiful bodies I've ever seen on a doll and that plays an important part in her charm (that and I fell in love with the hands xP ) and makes her the perfect, delicate creature intended for her character. :whee:

And I also have a thing for odd-sized dolls. Without their strange body size they wouldn't be so appealing to me as they are now. Sure, it's harder to find their clothes because of their odd sizing but for me, that makes it all the more fun hunting clothes for them. xD And when I do manage to find pretty things for them it feels so much more rewarding because I knew that it was difficult but I succeeded.

    9. I care about both equally.
I don't think I would refrain from getting a head mold I liked because the body was not quite right- I would just make a hybrid or heavily mod said body.
My first doll is a hybrid because the body for that head did not look the way I wanted and my newest doll is a girl-to-boy mod because that just works better for the character.
It would also probably bother me to have dolls with the same bodies unless they were twins or other similar looking relatives.

    10. Though the mold of the head is pretty much what draws me in at first, the body is the deciding factor. If the body doesn't meet my expectations and I can't find another that matches the skintone of the head, then I won't get that doll at all. I once owned a doll with a body that was just two awkward for me so I sold it.

    11. If there are many errors in the relation between a head sculpt and body and if they don't match, I wouldn't find it appealing.
For instance: The Luna doll from Bobobie. Both the head and body don't appeal to me because of how weirdly shaped they both are. Plus I have a great dislike for "pixie" faces (sharp nose, wide eyes fitted onto almond-ish/oval/circle shaped head, small or wide mouth).
Puki dolls never appeal to me either...well, alot of the dolls that size. Because I know I'll lose it :sweat And it's too cherub-like for me.

    12. Gender wise, I tend to like unisex bodies a little more, but I don't think their "bits" would make me to stop getting them. I think that clothes would just cover them up.

    13. I can't buy a doll whose face sculpt I love, but whose body I don't. it would bug me endlessly :sweat

I have a rolling head and my friends say I should get him a cheap body so I can play with him, but... I prefer to wait until the year FairyLand releases the A-Body less muscled, if they ever do, or maybe another company releases another great body... until then, he'll be bodyless I guess

    14. I go with the face.... but at the same time... I dont want a body wityh no details....

So I choose the face first and then I go "deeper"...

For now the only doll that I fell in love with seems perfect and I can even get him in senior..... so more movement = way more fun XD

But I could always just buy the head and find another body :)

    15. For me both things are really important, i never buy a doll with a body or a face i really don´t like, but what makes me to me buy a doll is the face, i prefer a normal body and a beautiful face than a normal face and a cool very well done body.
I´m looking for a boy now, that have a beautiful face and a non child body, cause all the guys i see and have a very good looking face have childs bodys o.O when i find someone with a adult body and a cute face i buy him^^ that is what make me buy it.

Both things are really important to me, but tha face is over the body in my list:P

    16. I fall in love with the face first, then I scope out the body later, because I prefer the torso joint to be around the diaphragm, not the waistline :sweat

It's been hard for me to find a male body that fits that requirement, actually, as well as fitting minimee resin!

    17. I've started to care about the body much more recently. At first I just bought dolls because of their faces, now I look at the face and the body equally.. so because of that my hybrid -dolls are increasing in numbers.. A doll that pleases my eye totally is very rare these days. ^^;

    18. I really agree with this.
Even if I /love/ the headsculpt, if they have a body that looks 'too muscle-y', awkward or just not my cup of tea, I won't buy that doll.

For example, I /LOVE/ Dream of Doll's DOI line's facesculpts, but I just find the 'muscle definition' to be awkward... So, that prevents me from buying them. In the same vain, Iplehouse doesn't have my absolute favourite facesculpts, but their bodies are just BEAUTIFUL, so I just had to buy my Lion :D

    19. I think both are important, which is why I'm such a mix-and-match DIY collector. Half of my dolls are hybrids, usually because I wanted a different body type than the "default" for the head. It can be a tricky job sometimes to get a good resin match... but when it works out I think it's the best of both worlds!

If I like a face sculpt, I definitely won't mark it off the wishlist totally just because I don't like the "matching" company body. I'll just do some browsing and research until I find the right one! Or vice versa. I love the Senior Delf girl bodies, but their face sculpts (though lovely) just don't "call out" to me. So I'm keeping an eye out for a head that I love that would be a good resin match, too. ;)

Also, I like body type variety in my crew. Though I have several CP heads, most of them are hybrids... because I want a variety of taller/shorter, more/less muscular, slimmer/thicker, small bust/large bust... I like them all!

    20. The face is ultimately what gives the most personality to your doll, but the body of the doll makes a big difference to me in whether or not I will even consider buying a doll. For example!

For a long time I had considered purchasing a bobobie doll because I love the sculpt of their faces, but the sculpt of their bodies were nowhere near as nice as what I was looking for, so I did not buy a bobobie doll. Once bobobie released their new msd bodies they were much closer to the aesthetic I like so I purchased one (she has since been sold but that's another story;)).

For me the body of a doll will make or break a sale, if I don't like the body... I probably won't buy the doll, unless I KNOW I can make it into a hybrid which will appeal to me... and then it has to be worth the cost because generally making a doll this way ends up being more expensive.
