Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. How much sunlight do you allow your doll to get?

Feb 28, 2005

    1. My Resinsoul Yu stay in their little kit when I'm not using them. My third doll is black, I dyed it my self, and I know nobody will never buy it if I sold it, so I don't care, it usually is always watching at me on my desk :p

My soon-to-arrive JID Boris will be as my Yu, in the box when not use :)

    2. Not very much. I keep them in boxes most of the day, then I take them out when I want to play with them/dress them up then I put them back. A big factor in that is because I have cats though.. to be more specific a very ungraceful fat cat that knocks everything off of my dresser. Haha!

    3. Very little to be honest, unless I really need one? Like currently I am at the hospital for a week study so I have my oldest doll with me (who is yellowed a bit since I used to keep him out all the time) and he sits out with me here but at home I only take them out for pictures and that normally takes under 30 minutes. In the house they are all sitting together in a cabinet/entertainment center, this is mostly due to the fact that I have my sisters kids at my house as well as two cats (one of who chews on resin...) and a dog who tries to eat everything.

I am very cautious with my dolls...however if the mood strikes me right I will have the sit out with me at night. ^w^

    4. Eh, yellowing isn't a huge deal to me, so my dolls get moderate sunlight sometimes. In my current room at college, they're on a shelf opposite a window, and while they're not directly in the sun, they do get some light that's filtered through a flag I have hanging over the window. They're all pretty evenly yellowed anyways.

    5. I definitely keep mine out of direct sunlight (I heard a lot about yellowing among other things), but I like to keep her on a shelf where she'll still get a fair amount of non-direct light when I have the curtains open. I'd feel bad keeping her in a dark space all the time.

    6. I keep my boys in my bedroom, on top of my dresser with the curtains closed all the time.

    7. My dolls are kept on my dresser with the blinds closed, so no direct sunlight. Our windows are uv protected, but I still keep the blinds down anyway.

    8. Mine sit on top of a short bookcase in my room. I'm miserable without natural light, so I open my blinds and curtains every day. While I angle the blinds so no direct light hits them, I know my dollies still get plenty of light. I don't spend much time worrying about yellowing despite this. Since I want my dolls out where I can see them, and I don't want a dark room, yellowing may just be something I'll have to live with.

Eventually, I do plan to get a new shelf for them that I can rig with light-blocking curtains, though, or maybe a cabinet.

    9. I give my dollies almost 0 light at all. I love white skin, but I am so afraid of them yellowing I pretty much never take them outside during the day. I live in the Desert in California. I recently took my boy outside for a photo and almost cried having him sit there for photos. Not to mention the back camera doesn't work on my phone anymore and I had to awkwardly use the front facing one which took longer. I have black out curtains for my room so I can take them out, but they stay in my closet where no light can touch them.

    10. I have never taken any of mine outside. I have them in my house where I always keep the blinds closed. They are out so do get light that still comes in with the blinds. And the light from the lamp at night. So far, I have not noticed much if any change in them. I have them to enjoy. I want them out with me. I hope they do not yellow, but if so, it will be what it is.

    11. My doll for now is pretty much a vampire. I have him in the shade when we're outside, and normally we only go out for photo shoots in the evening when the sun isn't shining directly down on everything. He's in his box when I'm not playing with him or posing him for pictures and such, so I'd say he's pretty safe from the sun. I'm one of the paranoid people who is afraid of even a fragment of sunlight getting on a doll. Probably too paranoid.

    12. As little as possible. Sometimes I take them outside and the sun is kind of unavoidable, but at home they stay in some shady nook with the curtains drawn!

    13. As close to none as possible now. When I owned a different crew I took them to meetups and anime conventions. I think it was around the time of the tan to green in the sun freakout that I kept my dolls in the house and away from doors and windows.
