1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How Old Are You?

Feb 26, 2014

    1. I'm turning 14 this year :celebrate:wiggle, and I've been in the hobby for almost 2 years.

    2. 19, turning 20 in July! I've been in this hobby for almost exactly 6 years now.

    3. As of March 6, I am 20. (:

    4. I'm 22 and I only started collecting dolls this year :). I don't think you can ever be too old for something, especially if it's an expensive hobby like collecting. Age is just a number. As long as it makes you happy, keep enjoying it :)!

    5. I'm 29 and have been interested in BJD's since my teens, I was finally able to afford one of my own in my early twenties. I agree with Purple Lady on the first page of this tread: you are never to old to do what you love and I think doll art is especially conducive to inspiring creativity and learning new skills such as sewing, knitting, crocheting, painting, photography, etc. This seems like a good thing at any age!

In my mind the dolls I have are not so much a collection as a hobby because they allow me to be creative and to expressive myself artistically through the doll. My goal is not to own every doll sculpt that I find beautiful but to further engage and cultivate my hobbies such as sewing and painting and to enjoy the end result that is a beautiful work of art - the doll.

    6. I agree with you, this hobby has been such a great creative outlet for me! :) I first got into dolls about 2 or 3 years ago, and got my first BJD this past Christmas as a gift to myself hehe! I'll be 22 in November!

    7. I'm 24 now and got my first BJD (who I still have) when I was 18.

    8. Turned 24 last November. I've been collecting since 17! =)

    9. 21 and got my first doll at 17 or 18.

    10. I`m 41 and had my first doll in january 2014. My daughter is 14 and had her first doll att the same day that i had mine :)

    11. I turned 28 just some weeks ago, and I got my first doll August 2013, but started doing research about the hobby in September 2012 :D

    12. 25 almost and still counting XD You are never too old for cuteness!

    13. I am 20 years old and proud to love love love bjds! ;)

    14. I'm 20. But my acquaintance is 32 (or 33?) and I don't think she's too old. I don't think you can be too old O_O

    15. I'm 18, I really love how many ""older"" people are in this hobby, it really seems like there's no age limit and that's really great

    16. I'm 18 and have just ordered my first doll. I don't think there's an age limit at all with this hobby! :)

    17. I'm 18 and pretty new to this hobby. The age range warms my heart! :aheartbea

    18. I'm 18 now... I don't think I will ever be 'too old' for dolls. I love them too much!

EDIT: Ha, what! I didn't see how many 18 year olds had posted right before me! It is great to see such a big age range, and so many levels of experience with dolls at the same age, too. Like some 18 year olds are just starting out, and I consider myself to be a fairly experienced doll owner by now. ^ - ^ Don't ever give up, fellow freshly adults! It gets even better with time!

    19. I'm 20, turning 21 at the very beginning of May and I've just started this beautiful hobby a few months ago. :)

    20. I'll be 27 next month and bought my first bjd in Tokyo when I was 23. :D
