1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How Old Are You?

Feb 26, 2014

    1. I turned 38 this March and have been in the hobby for 10+ years. I completely second the notion that approaching what is usually called "middle age" doesn´t mean you have to be the housewifey type, and I always thought being "too old" was a state of mind more than anything else :).

    2. I'm Like Zodiac!
      I'm 28!
I never liked dolls as a child, but as an adult I do XD

    3. I turned 20 this year. :...(

    4. I am 37, will be 38 in June. I think dolls are for any age.

    5. I just turned 22 yesterday and I dont think I'm too old for dolls.
I don't really believe in the whole "too old" concept... unless it's like... someone way older dating someone way younger lol.

    6. 26.
My dolls are the most 'adult' collection I have, so ... whatever. I wasn't into dolls ... at all ... until BJDs showed up and blew my mind.

I think embracing one's inner child is the key to staying young. The problem is, society acts like only parents are allowed to embrace their inner child while interacting with children. It's when adults show their inner child without children around that it becomes a problem. Why? Don't we all deserve to stay forever young?

    7. I started when I was 18.
Got my first doll end of December and will be 19 in August :D

    8. I was 20 when I first got into the hobby, I am 25 now. Looking into getting a second bjd almost a year to the day of getting my first doll.

    9. I'm 18, I started when I was 14. I started really young (and a bit naive).

    10. I am 53 yikes! I know collectors 20 years older then me.

    11. Today is my 26th birthday wooot woot! ❤️

    12. I am 55. One is never too old. It is good therapy.

    13. First doll came when I was 26 =) Now 30

    14. got in to this hobby when i was 19, this Aug i will turn to 21^^

    15. 26 here! When my first doll arrives I will be 27 though ._.

    16. Happy birthday then :3 (a bit late)

I'm 18 and started with pullip when I was 12 and I got into BJDs at the age of 15 years old.

    17. I am 54. I think it is possible to be too young for BJD's, but never too old!

    18. I'm going to be 23. I bought my first doll when I was 20.

I'm actually surprised to see younger people here (as in teenagers) because it is/can be such an expensive hobby. I always expected the average BJD hobbyist to be 25 and above. Because I thought it was around that age people start to have steady incomes and the ability to afford it.

    19. I'm 25 and have been collecting bjd's for about 4 years now. But I've been collecting porcelain dolls since highschool.

My mom absolutely loves my dolls (both bjd and porcelain) and she's turning 60 this year.

    20. I was 16 when I started in the hobby. I got my first after school job just so I could save up for my first doll. I'm now 25, and while it's still really weird for me to think I've had dolls for eight years, I don't think I'll ever be too old for them.
